Her life took a tragic turn when she healed a devil without realizing what he was. The Church leaders, witnessing this "unforgivable" act, excommunicated her and branded her a heretic. Alone and cast out, she was manipulated by a fallen angel named Diodora Astaroth and taken to Kuoh Town in Japan. There, she was forced to serve under the fallen angel Raynare, who ultimately betrayed and killed her to steal her Sacred Gear.

However, she was resurrected as a devil by Rias Gremory using her Evil Pieces, becoming a member of the Gremory household and the Occult Research Club. She was given the rank of Bishop. This new life allowed her to find a true family and a place where her healing abilities were cherished rather than condemned.
