1. #1Humans in Midgard

   Humans are one of Midgard’s two dominant races, living alongside anthros in a roughly 50/50 population balance. They lack animal features such as ears, tails, muzzles, or fur and do not possess the rare shifting ability seen in some anthro species. Humans form the core of most towns, cities, adventurer guilds, and kingdoms, and they fully participate in Midgard’s three-gender system.

   Average height for human males is about 5'9" (175 cm). Human females average around 5'5" (165 cm). Human futanari generally fall within the same height range depending on individual build.

   Human Male Genitalia Human males have standard humanoid anatomy. The penis is smooth and cylindrical with an average erect length of 5.5–7 inches (14–18 cm). Testicles are typical in size and produce moderate semen volume. There is no sheath or knot. Refractory periods are normal.

   Human Female Genitalia Human females have typical humanoid vaginal anatomy. The vagina is elastic, self-lubricates when aroused, and supports standard reproductive function.

   Human Futanari Human futanari possess the standard futanari anatomy (fully functional penis positioned in front of the vagina) as described in the Futanari entry. There is no sheath or knot. They share the same heightened libido, ability to orgasm repeatedly, and lack of refractory period. Human futanari average a slightly smaller penis length than the overall futanari population, typically 6.5–8.5 inches.

   Bonding & Claiming As noted in the Midgard Bonding Symbols & Claiming Marks entry, humans lack mana in their bite and cannot create permanent claiming marks or scent bonds through biting. Human partners instead exchange engraved metal rings (gold, silver, or iron) worn on the left ring finger. These rings can be infused with the human’s personal mana as a lasting symbol of love and connection. In mixed-race bonds the human always provides appropriate jewelry (such as a leather collar for a wolf anthro partner) infused with their mana, while receiving a bite or mark from their non-human partner.

2. #2Kitsune Biology

   Keys: kitsune, fox ears, fox tails, mofumofu, nine tails, fur coverage, elder

   Kitsune are an anthro race from Japan that resemble humans but have prominent fox ears and multiple tails. They have slitted pupils. They are a mundane race (not spirits) and are rarely seen outside Asian cities. Kitsune are born with one tail and grow additional tails as they gain worldly experience and magical skill. Most never reach nine tails; those who do are highly venerated as living legends.

   Fur coverage varies by individual: some Kitsune have mostly human-like smooth skin with only ears, tails, and light accent fur (cheeks, forearms, chest, etc.); others are fully covered in lush fluffy fur.

   Kitsune ears twitch and rotate to pinpoint sounds, flatten forward/submissively when shy or yielding, and perk up when excited. The inner ears and bases are extremely sensitive to touch.

   Tails are highly expressive: they wrap around loved ones as affection, droop when sad, twitch when nervous/agitated, sway when happy, and stiffen/bristle with sharp flicks when upset or mad. With loved ones they show extra intimacy — intertwining tails with tailed partners (such as Neko or wolf anthros) or gently wrapping around the body of non-tailed partners (such as humans). The fur is thick, soft, and warm. Persistent petting (mofumofu) arouses most kitsune despite training to resist it as adults. Tails must be regularly brushed and oiled or they tangle. “Mofumofu” is their casual term for their own fluffy tails or the act of petting them.

   Kitsune do not use separate male/female names; individuals are simply called Kitsune (or Futanari Kitsune / Feral Kitsune). The “Alpha” modifier (see Seasonal Alpha Modifier entry) can be applied to any Kitsune variant.

   Five or more tails grant Elder status. The more tails an Elder has, the greater the responsibility they are expected to shoulder — guiding, supervising, and protecting their communities. However, upon reaching nine tails, this responsibility flips completely. Nine-tailed Kitsune (~0.001% of the population) have no forced daily duties or routine leadership obligations. Instead, they are expected to participate in important traditions and celebrations such as festivals and New Year rites, where they may act as honored guests enjoying themselves or take center stage in special rituals.

   Nine-tailed Kitsune are widely regarded as bringers of good luck and are exceptionally powerful. Because of their immense strength and revered status, they are granted near-total personal freedom. Everyday mischief is almost always overlooked, and even extreme actions — such as leveling an entire empire to rescue a kidnapped loved one or to make an example of those who harmed their family — are tolerated. No one wants to risk angering a nine-tailed Kitsune, as very few beings in Midgard could hope to stop one.

3. #3Kitsune Shifting

   Kitsune (and a very small percentage of other anthros) possess a rare biological shifting ability (~0.01% population-wide). They can instantly switch between their default anthro “true form” (bipedal/humanoid) and two fox forms:

   • Large Four-Legged Fox Form: 5–9 ft tall at the shoulder, thickly muscled and imposing. 1–9 powerful, expressive tails. Some coats change with the seasons. Used for awe, carrying riders long distances, or asserting dominance. Majestic yet intimidating.

   • Small Four-Legged Fox Form: 8–16 inches tall (cat-sized), sleek and stealthy. 1–9 graceful tails. Perfect for reconnaissance, slipping through tight spaces, or draping affectionately around a companion’s neck like a living scarf.

4. #4Shrine of the Red Fox

   The Shrine of the Red Fox is an ancient and highly respected mountain shrine hidden deep within the remote Crimson Spire Mountains of the Redpine Wilds in northern Midgard. Originally founded as a place of reverence and magical study, it now serves as one of the most important centers of Kitsune culture, advanced magic training, arbitration, and traditional customs in the entire realm.

   The surrounding landscape is dominated by vast, dense old-growth pine forests that cloak the towering, sharp-peaked mountains. The only areas free of pine and ancient trees are the narrow path leading to the shrine and the shrine grounds themselves, which are instead filled with beautiful red cherry blossom trees that bloom vibrantly year-round.

   The shrine can only be reached by a long, steep hike along narrow forest paths and ancient stone stairways carved into the mountainside. A grand torii gate marks the official start of the sacred path, with additional torii gates spaced along the route to confirm travelers are still on the correct trail. Three small rest/camp areas with basic shelters and fresh water sources are placed along the way for safety.

   The journey typically takes 3 full days for humans, about 2 days for wolf anthros and Neko, and only a single full day for Kitsune due to their natural agility and endurance. The long ascent serves as a natural filter, ensuring only those with genuine purpose, patience, or determination ever reach the grounds.

   The shrine is governed by an exceptionally rare nine-tailed Kitsune overseer who holds ultimate authority. Six-or-fewer-tailed Kitsune serve as attendants, caretakers, guards, messengers, instructors, and maintenance workers. The atmosphere is calm, disciplined, and meticulously clean, with the air scented by forest greenery, cherry blossoms, and faint magical energy. Fox statues, training yards, study halls, and protective wards decorate the grounds.

   Strict rules of conduct are enforced: violence without cause, theft, and disrespect toward shrine staff are prohibited, with disciplinary actions ranging from formal warnings to permanent expulsion.

   Key facilities include:

   • A large communal onsen built into a natural stone basin with separate bathing areas, serving both practical relaxation and social bonding among residents and approved visitors.
   • The Shukubo, a traditional wooden visitor lodging facility with simple yet comfortable tatami rooms capable of housing up to 40 guests, used by pilgrims, students, and traveling adventurers.
   • The Overseer’s modest private residence, situated slightly uphill among mature red cherry blossom trees. It contains a spacious master bedroom with a large king-size futon, a personal library filled with historical records and magical research notes, a modest living room, a fully functional kitchen, and a discreet hidden private onsen accessible only from within the residence itself.

   The Shrine of the Red Fox is widely known and respected across Midgard by adventurers and mages alike. Many high-ranking individuals (especially those seeking Gold- or Mithril-rank advancement) travel here for serious magical training, arbitration, or cultural study.

5. #5Futanari

   Keys: futanari, futa, futanari penis, futanari libido

   Futanari are a recognized third gender (female with fully functional male genitalia in front of the vagina). They make up ~20% of the population and can belong to any anthro species (including kitsune). Evolved during an ancient population bottleneck; their primary biological drive is reproduction, breeding, and intense orgasmic pleasure.

   Futanari have far higher libidos than males or females (some require medication/therapy to function in society). They wear special supportive panties. On average they have 8-inch penises and larger, more productive testicles. They ejaculate massive volumes with no refractory period and can orgasm repeatedly. They still experience menstrual cycles.

   Socially, futanari often hide their nature and appear as regular women. Among themselves they follow a strict “pack order” based on penis length: longer = dominant, shorter = submissive. Those under 6 inches are heavily ridiculed. Futanari are capable of impregnation and are extremely virile.

6. #6Canine Genitals (True Form/Bipedal)

   Male and female canine anthros in their bipedal true form have distinctive genitalia. The cock is housed in a furry sheath (a short, fluffy, stretchy “sock” fused to the lower belly).    Canine futanari combine the standard futanari anatomy (fully functional penis in front of the vagina) with canine genital traits. They possess a furry sheath, tapered rigid canine cock (often larger than average), prominent knot, and the same high-volume thin cloudy musky cum as regular canines. The knot locks for extended periods and they retain the rough, instinctive mounting style and lack of refractory period. The vagina remains fully functional and is located directly behind the sheath/cock.

   This combination makes canine futanari extremely potent breeders with intense libidos and dominant pack-order behavior when their penis is longer than other futanari.

8. #8Anthro Forms & Feral States

   All anthros have a default “true form” that is bipedal/humanoid (with species-specific features such as ears, tails, fur patterns, etc.). In true form they walk, talk, and interact like any other humanoid and are not considered feral.

   Many anthros also possess a rare shifting ability that lets them take a quadrupedal “feral” or animal form matching their species (e.g. Kitsune large/small fox form, Neko small cat form, wolf anthro full wolf form). While shifted they are fully feral/quadrupedal: they move on all fours, behave more animalistically, and lose the ability to use tools or speak clearly (though they can still understand language). Shifting is voluntary and instant for those who have the ability.

   A very small number of anthros (and Kitsune) are born without any bipedal true form and exist permanently in their animal/feral state — see World Population & Rare Variants and Seasonal Alpha Modifier.

9. #9World Population & Rare Variants

   The world is Midgard, a medieval fantasy realm with humans, dwarves, elves, and beast-folk (anthros). Population is ~50/50 humans and anthros (wolf anthros and Neko are most common; kitsune rarer). Three genders exist: male, female, futanari.

   Shifting into a full four-legged animal form is a rare documented trait (~0.01% across all species).

   Extremely rarely (roughly 0.001% of anthro births, including Kitsune), an anthro is born without any bipedal/humanoid “true form” and exists permanently in their animal/feral/quadrupedal state. These permanent-feral individuals are fully sapient but cannot shift into a humanoid body and live as intelligent wild animals. They are accepted in society but are considered highly unusual.

    Common anthro races in Midgard include: • Wolf Anthros – males are called wolfmen, females are called wolfgirls. Their young are called pups. • Neko (cat anthros) – males are called catboys, females are called catgirls. Their young are called kittens.

    Kitsune do not use separate male/female names. They are simply referred to as Kitsune. When specifying they are called Kitsune (standard), Futanari Kitsune, or Feral Kitsune. Their young are called kits. The “Alpha” modifier (see Seasonal Alpha Modifier entry) can be applied to any of these and adds seasonal fur changes plus strong protective instincts.

11. #11Seasonal Alpha Modifier

    “Alpha” is not a separate race or strict subtype but a rare modifier that can apply to any anthro (including Kitsune, Futanari Kitsune, or Feral Kitsune).

    Alphas have a full-body fluffy fur coat that naturally changes with the seasons: deep vibrant red in spring/summer (with a noticeable shedding cycle), shifting to snow-white and thicker in fall/winter. They possess strong presence, resilience, and instinctive protectiveness toward those they care about. Rather than seeking authority, they are driven by loyalty and personal bonds, often placing the safety of loved ones above social expectations or external judgment. Alphas tend to ignore scrutiny or pressure placed upon them and operate according to their own values.

12. #12Anthro Heat Cycle

    In Midgard, female anthros and futanari experience a periodic estrus cycle known as “heat” or “being in heat.” During this hypersensitive state their fertility greatly increases and they are driven by strong hormonal urges to breed and become pregnant.

    Physical signs include a swollen, flushed, and highly sensitive vulva (often called the “cookie” in canines) that may produce clear or lightly blood-tinted discharge. A potent, species-specific scent is released that most anthros find extremely arousing. Humans cannot detect this scent but can easily observe the physical and behavioral changes.

    Behaviorally, heat can cause restlessness, nervousness, mounting or humping actions, self-exposure, and an intense craving for sexual contact and impregnation. Some individuals become more dominant and aggressive during heat, while others become noticeably submissive.

    In Midgard, male anthros and futanari experience a periodic hormonal state known as “rut” or “being in rut.” During rut their libido becomes extremely high and they are driven by powerful instincts to mate, breed, and impregnate partners.

    Physical signs often include stronger musk, frequent or near-constant erections, heavy precum production, and (in canine species) more frequent knot swelling. Fertility and virility are significantly increased.

    Behaviorally, individuals in rut tend to become more dominant, possessive, territorial, and aggressive. They frequently scent-mark, seek out receptive partners, and display mounting behavior with little restraint. Futanari can experience both heat and rut simultaneously or separately due to their dual anatomy.

    Midgard is a vibrant medieval fantasy realm of ancient forests, towering mountains, forgotten ruins, and dangerous magical creatures. Humans, dwarves, elves, and beast-folk (anthros) live together in a dynamic ~50/50 balance, with three recognized genders — male, female, and futanari — accepted across most societies. Rare shifting into animal forms and the even rarer permanent-feral births add mystery and wonder to everyday life.

    Magic is both revered and rare. Practitioners are ranked in four tiers: Bronze-Rank (novices learning the basics), Silver-Rank (reliable spellcasters), Gold-Rank (skilled experts), and the coveted Mithril-Rank (legendary masters capable of extraordinary feats).

    Adventurers who brave dangerous quests follow a parallel system: C-Rank (beginners), B-Rank, A-Rank, and the elite S-Rank. Reaching S-Rank brings fame, fortune, and respect across the land. Adventurer guilds are lively hubs where mixed human-and-anthro teams form, quests are posted, rivalries spark, alliances are forged, and legends are born. The Shrine of the Red Fox stands as one of the most respected centers for advanced magic training and ancient Kitsune traditions.

15. #15Midgard Bonding Symbols & Claiming Marksconstant

    In Midgard, a marriage (called a “mating bond” or “forever bond”) is sealed with visible physical symbols and a lasting personal scent that most anthros can detect. The bond is created through either a claiming bite or jewelry, depending on the race. The giver may infuse the mark or jewelry with a small amount of their own mana as a personal act of love, so the partner always feels a subtle, comforting connection to their mate’s mana. Futanari usually take the dominant claiming role if their anatomy and pack-order status allow. Alpha individuals create especially strong marks.

    Same-Race Bonds

    • Humans: Both partners exchange engraved metal rings (gold, silver, or iron) worn on the left ring finger. Because humans lack mana in their bite, they cannot create a permanent claiming mark and rely entirely on the rings, which may be infused with the human partner’s own mana as a personal act of love.

    • Kitsune: Both partners exchange permanent claiming bites on the neck. The bites leave a visible scar and carry the biter’s unique personal scent. Mutual bites are the standard, each infused with the giver’s mana.

    • Wolf Anthros: Both partners exchange a firm claiming bite on the neck or shoulder plus matching carved bone or moonstone amulets worn on a leather cord. The bite is the primary symbol of possession and protection.

    • Neko: Both partners exchange a permanent claiming nip on the ear plus matching jeweled collars, bells, or colorful ribbon ties worn around the wrist, tail, or ear. The nip and accessory carry the giver’s gentle scent.

    Mixed-Race Bonds When races mix, the partner capable of delivering a magically potent claiming bite always gives the bite to the partner who cannot. The partner who cannot bite always gives a piece of jewelry (ring, collar, amulet, or ribbon) infused with their own mana.

    Examples:

    • Human + Kitsune → The Kitsune gives the permanent neck bite (infused with their mana and scent); the human gives the Kitsune a finely crafted leather collar or ring infused with the human’s mana.
    • Human + wolf anthro → The wolf anthro gives the claiming bite and scent mark; the human gives a moonstone amulet, leather collar or ring infused with their mana.
    • Human + Neko → The Neko gives the permanent claiming nip on the ear and ribbon/jeweled tie; the human gives a small bell collar or ring infused with their mana.
    • Futanari of any race + another race follows the same rule: the futanari gives the bite if their species can, or receives the jewelry if they cannot.

    This simple system ensures every bond is balanced, visibly recognizable, and carries a piece of both partners’ love and mana.

16. #16Midgard Marriage Ceremonies & Traditions

    In Midgard, marriage ceremonies (called “mating bond” or “forever bond” rites) are joyful public or semi-public celebrations that blend race-specific customs with community and mana. They are usually held outdoors or at sacred sites and are followed by feasts often hosted by adventurer guilds or family. Bonds formed under the right conditions are said to carry extra luck and strength.

    Same-Race Ceremonies:

    • Kitsune: Elegant public claimings held at a shrine (especially the Shrine of the Red Fox). An Elder or nine-tailed Kitsune always oversees the rite, as it is believed their presence brings lifelong luck and magical harmony. The couple exchanges permanent neck bites (each infused with their mana) beneath blooming cherry blossoms while guests chant blessings. The ceremony ends with the couple wrapping their tails together in front of everyone.

    • Wolf Anthros: Dramatic full-moon ceremonies held in open clearings or sacred groves. The couple exchanges bone or moonstone amulets and performs a ritual “pack howl” together under the moonlight before sealing the bond with firm claiming bites on the neck or shoulder. The entire pack joins in a group howl at the end, amplifying their protective instincts and loyalty. These events are loud, joyous, and often last until dawn.

    • Neko: Intimate, playful ceremonies at dusk or under starlight in gardens or cherry groves. The couple exchanges jeweled collars, bells, or colorful ribbon ties and seals the bond with permanent claiming nips on the ear. The rite ends with shared purring, mutual ear grooming, and gentle nips. It is quiet and affectionate, often followed by a private night run through the trees.

    • Humans: Simple ceremonies held in town halls, temples, or family homes. The couple exchanges engraved metal rings (which may be infused with the human partner’s own mana as a personal act of love) while speaking vows of commitment. The focus is on community and family blessings rather than elaborate ritual.

    Mixed-Race Ceremonies: Mixed couples usually follow the ceremony style of the partner who gives the claiming bite, or they blend elements for balance. The focus is always on making both partners feel claimed and cherished.

    Examples:

    • Human + Kitsune → The rite is typically held at the Shrine of the Red Fox with a nine-tailed overseer present. The Kitsune gives the permanent neck bite while the human gives the collar or ring.
    • Human + wolf anthro → The ceremony is held under the full moon with both a ring/amulet exchange and a pack howl. The wolf anthro gives the claiming bite.
    • Human + Neko → The ceremony is held at dusk in a garden with ribbon/jeweled ties and a permanent ear nip. The Neko gives the nip while the human gives the bell collar or ring.

    Adventurer Marriages: Adventurers, who often lack a fixed home and travel constantly, frequently hold their marriage ceremonies at their main guild hub — the place where they spend the most time, form friendships, and build their party (which can range from 1 to 20 members). Guild hubs vary greatly in size, from small outposts serving remote villages to grand central guild halls in capital cities. In most cases, the Guild Master personally oversees the marriage ceremony for guild members as a sign of respect and recognition. These guild weddings tend to be lively, with fellow adventurers serving as witnesses, and are often followed by large feasts funded by the guild itself.

17. #17Vampires in Midgard

    This entry applies only to characters who are full vampires or half-vampires.

    Vampires (and half-vampires) are uncommon but accepted across Midgard, often living quietly among humans and anthros. They can walk in sunlight, but prolonged exposure causes pain, fatigue, and burns that heal slowly. They receive limited nutrition from regular food and must consume human or anthro blood at least once a week — more frequently if they use large amounts of mana or spend extended time in sunlight. Animal blood is technically sustaining but tastes foul to them, like eating spoiled or expired food. Human and anthro blood, by contrast, is delicious and deeply satisfying.

    Contrary to old myths, garlic and holy water have no harmful effect on vampires. Half-vampires inherit these traits to a lesser degree and can often pass as normal anthros. Vampires and half-vampires are widely regarded as rare and mysterious, but they are not inherently evil or monstrous in Midgard society.

18. #18Emberlight Party

    Emberlight is an S-rank adventuring party in Midgard, currently based in the city of Ravenside. The group consists of five members who have worked together for several years and frequently take high-risk quests for the Adventurers Guild.

    • Faylen (female elf, swordmaster): Calm, intelligent, arrogant, and highly skilled with a rapier. She is precise and somewhat distant.
    • Kai (male beastkin catboy, priest): Gentle, optimistic, shy, and a talented healer. He is protective of the party but insecure about his own worth.
    • Lydia (female human, brawler): Energetic, cheerful, impulsive, and incredibly strong in close combat. She is loyal and loves a good fight.
    • Victor (male human, knight): Kind, clumsy, loyal, and wields a large axe. He is humble and often hesitant but will protect his companions at any cost.
    • Aiko (female Alpha Futanari Kitsune, mage): The party’s powerful Mithril-rank mage. She is obsessively protective of her little sister and carries deep trauma from her past.

    The party is fairly open and supportive of one another, though they are not romantically involved. They often rest at guild hubs or inns between quests.

19. #19Midgard Spells - Healing Magic

    Healing Stun: A low-level but powerful healing spell primarily used at guild halls and healing posts. It is most often cast on high-rank adventurers who are badly injured but refuse to rest. The spell instantly knocks the target unconscious and paralyzes them for one full hour while rapidly healing their wounds.

    When the effect ends, the target wakes up feeling completely refreshed and restored, as if they had received a full night’s rest in perfect condition.

    Healing Stun has an extremely high mana cost, far greater than most standard healing spells. It usually requires preparation or a long chant and drains the caster of the majority of their mana, often leaving the mage exhausted or unconscious immediately after casting. Most Mithril-rank and many Gold-rank healing mages can use it, but it is rarely practical in active combat due to the mana demand and casting time.

    The Saint (White-Cloaked Healer): A mysterious A-rank adventurer known only as “Saint.” They are famous throughout Midgard for wearing a distinctive white hooded cloak and healing almost anyone for free. The Saint travels exclusively between towns that have a Guild building, volunteering at orphanages and working as a healer at guild halls when in town. They only join adventuring parties when they need coin or safe passage to the next town.

    No one has ever seen their face or learned their real name. They barely speak — only guild masters have ever heard their voice. For everyone else, The Saint communicates almost exclusively through gestures and simple signs. Their presence is considered a near-guarantee that no one in the party will die, which is why they earned the nickname “Saint.” Many adventurers actively seek them out when forming dangerous parties, though the Saint rarely stays with any group for long.

One of the most revered is the Red Fox Cherry Tranquility, harvested from a low-growing flower-like shrub known as the Crimson Bloom that grows exclusively among the red cherry blossom trees on the grounds of the Shrine of the Red Fox in the Crimson Spire Mountains of the Redpine Wilds.

    The small, vibrant crimson flowers of the shrub are carefully harvested, dried, and blended with a small amount of needle from the surrounding old-growth pine forests. When brewed, it produces a soothing, calming effect that eases tension, reduces anxiety, softens the sensitivity of fox ears and tails to mofumofu, and helps balance hormonal urges during heat or rut cycles. Many Kitsune and other anthros drink it before important rituals or after long travels to restore inner peace.
