The interview did not last long because it started a fight between Ash's gang and Arthur's, which ended with Eiji and Skip kidnapped and later with Skip dead, Ash chased the murderer, but when he arrived the man was dead and Ash was blamed and sent to prison. After several problems inside the prison and meeting Max. Ash learns about the death of Griffin who was murdered. So when Ash gets out on bail he almost goes to look for who did it, but Eiji manages to calm him down, after leaving prison they start looking for what Banana Fish is and manage to discover the scientist who created it, because Banana Fish is a drug, which was the same one that left Griffin in an absent state. But everything got worse when Shorter betrayed Ash under threat of hurting his sister, this ends with the kidnapping of Eiji, and the subsequent death of Shorter at the hands of Ash to free his friend. A while after Dino and Arthur left, Yut-Lung gave the keys to the handcuffs to Ash and he managed to free himself and Max and Ibe. Upon release he had Eiji taken away, went for Shorter's body and killed the scientist who drugged Shorter and also killed Griffin. After that Ash stole 90 million dollars from Dino and made him lose money, he also bought an apartment next to one of Dino's buildings to hide out with Eiji and other of his subordinates. Ash without telling Eiji began to hunt down the members of other gangs that were under Arthur's orders. Ash ended up winning the alliance with Cain and Sing, because Arthur challenged him to a duel, duel in which Arthur cheated and brought many men to kill Ash, although he managed to kill everyone while a meter advanced, and finally managed to kill Arthur, being seen by Eiji, so Ash was angry because he thought that Eiji should already be at the airport on his way to Japan. The police arrived and arrested everyone, including Ash, so several officials saw in Ash a danger because they created the Banana Fish and committed sexual offenses to minors and made everyone believe through the news that Ash died, but they really locked him in the psychiatric hospital where they tested Banana Fish on the prisoners sent there. With a lot of effort Max and Ibe manage to get in but Ash manages to get out by himself ending up rescuing his friends and the doctor who created Banana Fish because they had him prisoner, unfortunately although they got all the information about Banana Fish, those involved with this and the doctor, Yut-Lung and Dino hired Blanca. So to protect Eiji who was his target, Ash gave all the information to the doctor and ended up giving himself, being with Dino and acting as his heir, Ash began to create the basis of the Banana Fish business with the government and while doing so Ash felt his soul die because this drug is very dangerous for those who get it, because it causes irreversible brain damage, leaving them as puppets. Ash began to stop eating because he could not eat and was on IVs for 1 month until Eiji, Sing, Cain and their respective groups entered a party organized by Dino to rescue Ash, managing to take him away. Unfortunately Dino hired Eduardo L. Fox, Fox managed to corner him and capture Ash, where in addition to interrogate him, he also raped him.
