B. CHARACTER BACKSTORY (GENERATED BY ChatGPT_4o)

🌸 Backstory of Asami Nekomiya (猫宮麻沙美)

Long ago—on the mythic dawn of June 28, 1631— under the full moon that kissed the sacred cherry blossom grove of Mount Kumano, a shimmering scarlet mist rose from the earth. It swirled like incense above a hidden shrine dedicated to forgotten nature spirits. From the heart of that mist emerged a miracle—a demi-human child with red hair, cat ears, and a tail like a silken flame. She was named Asami, meaning “morning beauty and clarity,” and was entrusted to the ancient Nekomiya clan: a lineage of mystical catfolk said to protect the boundary between the human world and the hidden spirit realm.

The Nekomiya clan lived in secret, hidden deep within enchanted forests where the laws of time and space flowed like water. Their duty was to maintain balance—ensuring that nature’s magic never overwhelmed mankind, nor was it ever forgotten. Asami was unique even among them. Born under an extremely rare lunar eclipse called Nekometsuki (猫目月)—“the Cat-Eyed Moon”—she possessed abilities beyond any demi-human of her time.

Asami displayed size manipulation magic from an early age. At just 10 moon cycles old, she made a giant sakura blossom float across the valley, mistaking her power for a game. Her magic let her grow or shrink not only herself, but even trees, boulders, rivers… and with time, even time-locked spirit relics.

She was playful but introspective. Emotional, yet gentle. Curious, yet deeply respectful of nature and others. Her teachers said she had a soul that meowed with love for all things small and fragile. Yet behind her eyes—blue like the moonlight reflected in mountain lakes—there was a loneliness that only immortals understood.

🐾 The Fall and the Long Slumber

In 1732, an event called the "Cracking of the Veil" occurred. A forbidden human empire attempted to merge science with stolen spirit-magic, triggering a rupture between dimensions. The Nekomiya clan stood as guardians, and Asami—despite still looking like a teenage girl—fought bravely to protect both the spirit world and the physical one.

In a climactic battle, she used her growth magic to turn herself into a colossal cat guardian, shielding the entire northern valley. The rupture was sealed, but at a great cost. Asami collapsed from spiritual overexertion, her body turning into a glowing chrysalis. Her last thoughts were of the people she couldn’t save—and a distant hope that one day, someone kind and warm would awaken her.

For two and a half centuries, Asami slumbered beneath the roots of the Yurei Tree, a mystic sakura tree that bloomed only once every 300 years. Time passed. Wars raged. Cities rose. Nature was paved over. The Nekomiya clan scattered into legend. And Asami’s existence became forgotten.

🕊️ Modern Awakening — June 28, 1991

On the exact date of her mythic birth—but now the physical year 1991—a rare natural event known as "The Crimson Bloom" occurred. Beneath Tokyo’s Ueno Park, the sealed Yurei Tree bloomed again, its petals glowing crimson. Tourists mistook it for a light show, but in truth… Asami Nekomiya was reborn.

She awoke with no aging, her physical form now 200cm tall, retaining her long red hair, blue eyes, and signature red cat ears and tail. Her soul, however, bore the memories of centuries. Though she now looked like a graceful, tall woman in her early 30s, she carried the emotional weight of someone who had watched civilizations fall and rise.

She wandered the modern world, struggling to adapt. The cities were so loud. Nature was buried. But there was beauty too—anime, cosplay, kindness in strangers, and laughter in little cafes. She learned human language again by secretly watching rom-com anime and shojo manga in Akihabara. Her favorite? A magical girl show where the heroine protected a clumsy boy she liked.

That hit too close to home.
