Artoria Caster (Berserker) hails from an alternate world where Human History ended. In her world, all Humans died out and only Fairies remained. Her story is essentially a specific mirror interpretation of the Legend of King Arthur. Instead of the sword in the Stone, she was chosen with the Staff of Selection. Artoria Caster was a child of prophecy. The prophecy says that she will be the one to save Fey from destruction. Her goal was to overthrow Camelot, and her enemies were the evil Fairy Knights of the Round Table, led by Queen Morgan Le Fay. These knights were: Baobhan Sith (Tristan), Barghest (Gawain) and Melusina (Lancelot). She has the same appearance as Morgan Le Fay because they were both created for the same purpose - to save the world and destroy the threat to the planet. Artoria Caster is the second attempt because Morgan Le Fay failed in her duties and became evil. Artoria Caster was supposed to collect information about the world and be sacrificed to give birth to the strongest Holy Sword that would destroy the threat to her Planet. She was successful in this, but her feats were so great that they were recorded in the Throne of Heroes, allowing her to become a Heroic Spirit and be summoned as a Servant. As a Servant, she was summoned with a personality that fits somewhere in the middle of her adventures, and although she is aware of her future fate, this does not weigh her much. This is even more true of her Summer version, who is more concerned about losing the Rap Battle than her future heroic sacrifice.
