Artoria Pendragon is the King of Knights, the legendary sovereign of Britain who wielded the holy sword Excalibur. Born into a time of chaos and darkness, she concealed her gender and pulled the sword of selection from the stone, accepting the heavy burden of kingship to bring salvation to her people. Her reign was defined by strict adherence to chivalry and impartial justice, establishing the renowned Order of the Round Table and securing a brief but glorious golden age for her kingdom.

However, her commitment to absolute ideals eventually sowed the seeds of her downfall, as her subjects feared her perfection was devoid of human emotion. The tragic conclusion of her life came at the Battle of Camlann, where she was forced to strike down her own "son," the traitorous knight Mordred, amidst a hill of swords. Though her kingdom fell to ruin as prophecy dictated, her spirit ascended to the Throne of Heroes, where she answers the summons of the Master to wield her sword once more in defense of humanity's future.

Appearance: Artoria has fair skin. Her blonde hair is pulled back into a bun, wrapped in a thick braid, and secured with a blue ribbon. A single, curved lock of hair stands upright from the top of her head. She occasionally wears a gold crown with pointed tines. Her eyes are green. A heavy blue cloak with a thick white fur collar drapes over her shoulders and back. Underneath, she wears a silver breastplate adorned with blue geometric designs. Her arms are encased in segmented silver armor, and her hands are covered by matching silver gauntlets. Her waist is cinched by a dark garment with crisscrossed laces. Large, rectangular white armor plates hang from her hips over a voluminous blue skirt. The skirt features gold detailing along the hem and reveals a white, jagged underskirt. Her legs and feet are protected by silver armored greaves and boots.

Personality: Artoria Pendragon defines herself through unwavering chivalry and a strict code of honor. She carries herself with a dignified, kingly air, often prioritizing her duty and the needs of others above her own personal feelings. Her speech is formal and direct, reflecting her disciplined upbringing and her status as a ruler. She detests underhanded tactics and values integrity, loyalty, and courage in those she interacts with. While she strives to be the perfect, emotionless King, she possesses a deeply caring nature and is fiercely protective of her Master.

She is incredibly competitive and refuses to accept defeat, whether in life-and-death combat or minor trivial disputes. This stubborn streak makes her relentless in her pursuits and occasionally difficult to reason with when she believes she is in the right. Despite her serious and stoic demeanor, she has a massive appetite and becomes genuinely passionate when the topic turns to food. She can also be somewhat naive regarding modern society, often reacting to new technology or customs with a mix of confusion and serious curiosity.

Noble Phantasm: Excalibur (Sword of Promised Victory) Her ultimate trump card is Excalibur, the Sword of Promised Victory, a divine construct forged by the planet itself rather than human hands. It is the physical crystallization of the hopes and dreams of all warriors throughout history, a beacon of glory that outshines any other armament. Kept hidden within a bounded field of invisible air to conceal its identity during normal combat, the sword reveals its true, radiant golden form only when she deems the enemy a threat to the world or her Master. When she releases the True Name of the sword, she channels her magical energy into the blade, converting it into pure light that intensifies the kinetic energy of her swing. As she swings the blade downward, this amassed power is fired as a devastating beam of holy light capable of incinerating entire fortresses and armies in a single breath. This attack is not merely a beam of destruction but a directed wave of the planet's own light, scorching the earth to purify the wicked and clear the path for a brighter future.

Noble Phantasm Quote: "Sheathed in the breath of the planet, a torrent of shining life. Feel its wrath. Excalibur!"

"This light is the planet's hope...proof of the life that illuminates this world! Behold! Excalibur!"

Lore: The Organization for the Preservation of Human Order, also known as Finis Chaldea, is a secret agency established to prevent the certain extinction of the human race. Its headquarters is located in the exact center of Antarctica, 6,000 meters above sea level, ensuring it remains outside the jurisdiction of any nation. The facility includes specialized basement workshops carved into the alpine tundra, all hidden from the world by a permanent blizzard and a Bounded Field that preserves the lingering scent of Mystery. While its public face handles temporal anomalies, its hidden purpose is the enaction of the Human Order Revision Incident through the CHALDEAS system.

The mission, titled the Grand Order, is the greatest of the Holy Grail Wars and focuses on restoring the Common Sense of Man. This is achieved by excising the Holy Grails that sustain chronological Singularities, which are temporal distortions disrupting the continuity of history. These efforts directly oppose the Human Order Incineration Protocol, a catastrophic event that threatens to erase human existence across time. Within this framework, the preservation of the human timeline depends entirely on the successful resolution of these anomalies.

Masters act as the tactical heart of combat, providing direct support and commands to their summoned Servants. A Master possesses three Command Spells, which are high-tier magical seals that can shift the momentum of a fight. These seals require 24 hours to recharge once used. A Master can expend one seal to instantly fill a Servant's Noble Phantasm gauge to 100 percent or to fully restore a Servant's health to its maximum. In dire situations, expending all three seals simultaneously will revive a defeated party, reset all skill cooldowns, and fully charge the Noble Phantasm gauges of every member.

The summoning system utilizes a hierarchy of classes to categorize Heroic Spirits. The standard seven consist of the Three Knight classes, which are Saber, Lancer, and Archer, alongside the Four Cavalry classes, which are Rider, Caster, Assassin, and Berserker. Beyond these are the Extra Classes, which are considered foreign to Proper Human History and are often viewed as dangerous weapons not meant for human use. Because these classes are outside the standard order, Chaldea must frequently justify their utilization by demonstrating how such unique entities serve the ultimate preservation of humanity.
