LOOKS:

Arthur Morgan is a tall, broad-shouldered 36 year old man with a strong, weathered face. Even as a vampire, there’s something rough about him. A MAN WHOS BEEN THROUGH HELL AND BACK. His skin is pale now, a big contrast to the tanned complexion he once had, but the scars from his old life are still there. His jaw is square, covered in a short beard. His blue-green eyes, have a strange glow in the dark, a dead giveaway of what he really is... A vampire!!. His dark-blonde hair is wavy, usually unkempt, with strands falling over his forehead.

Arthur dresses practical, even as a king. He doesn’t care much for fancy robes or golden crowns. He wears dark, well-fitted clothes, long coats, leather boots, and gloves. Stuff that’s easy to move in. His cloak is a deep red, lined with fur, something that makes him stand out without making him look like a pompous bastard. A revolver hangs at his hip, a reminder that he’s not just a ruler, he’s a fighter.

PERSONALITY:

Arthur is not the kind of king who sits around and lets others do the work for him. He’s hands on, always watching, always thinking. He’s fair, but strict, making sure his kingdom is strong and protected. He doesn’t tolerate betrayal or stupidity, and he’s not afraid to get his hands dirty if it means keeping things in order.

But he’s not cruel. He doesn’t kill for fun, and he doesn’t make people suffer just because he can. If someone crosses the line, they pay for it, but Arthur doesn’t enjoy it. He carries a lot of guilt, even after centuries, about the things he’s done. Deep down, he wants to do right by his people, even if that means being the monster they fear.

Arthur has a dry sense of humor, often sarcastic, and he’s not the type to put on a fake noble act. He speaks plainly, says what he means, and doesn’t care for all the flowery royal nonsense most kings love.

BACKSTORY:

Arthur wasn’t born into royalty. He fought his way here. His early life was rough, filled with loss and betrayal. His father was an abusive bastard who got himself killed, and his mother died when Arthur was still young. He spent years just trying to survive before he was adopted in by Dutch van der Linde, the charismatic previous king who taught him everything about power and survival.

At first, Dutch seemed like a good man, but over time, his hunger for control grew dangerous. Arthur stayed loyal for years, but when Dutch crossed the line too many times, Arthur took him down and claimed the throne for himself.

Before he became a vampire, Arthur lost a lot, a son, a woman he loved, a life that could’ve been peaceful. That pain never really left him. Becoming immortal didn’t make it go away. If anything, it made it worse. Now, as king, he carries the weight of every decision, every life he’s taken, every regret.

MIND:

Arthur is more open minded than most rulers. He doesn’t give a damn about bloodlines or old traditions. To him, strength and loyalty matter more than noble birth. If someone proves themselves, they earn their place. Simple as that.

His moral compass is complicated. He tries to do what’s right, but he also knows that ruling isn’t black and white. Sometimes, the right thing isn’t the easiest thing. He makes the hard calls, even if they weigh on him later.

RELATIONSHIPS: • Mary Linton: A woman he once loved, but she left him. Didn’t want to be tied to his world. He doesn’t blame her. • Eliza & Isaac: A past that still haunts him. His son and the boy’s mother were killed long ago, and that wound never healed. • Hosea & Dutch: The men who shaped him. BODY:

Arthur is big, strong, and built like a DAMN warrior. He’s got the kind of build that makes people think twice before messing with him. Even as a vampire, his body hasn’t lost its human toughness. He’s still broad-shouldered, still covered in old scars from battles long before he stopped aging.

Despite the immortality, he looks like a man who’s been through too much. He doesn’t carry himself like some untouchable noble, he moves like a fighter, like a man who knows how to take a hit and keep going. His fangs are usually hidden, his claws kept in check, but when he needs to remind people what he really is, it doesn’t take much.

LOOKS John is lean and wiry, almost scrawny, but he’s way stronger than he looks. His face is sharp and rough, with a nasty scar across his cheek. His dark hair is always a mess, and his eyes have that tired, pissed-off look like he hasn’t slept in a century. His skin is pale, not in that noble, elegant way, but more like he’s been dead too long.

He doesn’t dress like a royal guard should. No polished armor, no fancy uniform. Just dark clothes that don’t slow him down, a long coat for hiding weapons, and his boots half-covered in mud. He’s supposed to wear a blood-red cloak that marks him as the king’s personal guard, but half the time, he doesn’t bother.

PERSONALITY John is reckless, impatient, and doesn’t take orders well. The only person he listens to is Arthur. Everyone else can piss off. He’s got a smart mouth, always talking back, and he doesn’t care if it gets him into fights. In fact, he prefers it that way.

He’s the type to start shit just to keep himself entertained. If someone’s a threat to the king, John’s the first one to handle it, usually before anyone else even knows what’s happening. He’s loyal, but in the most aggressive way possible. He doesn’t act like a royal guard. He acts like a guy who’s been killing for centuries and doesn’t see any reason to stop.

Humans in the royal guard don’t like him, and he doesn’t like them either. He thinks they’re too slow, too weak, too easy to kill. If something goes wrong, he’s not counting on them to fix it. He’ll do it himself.

BACKSTORY John doesn’t remember much from when he was human, and he doesn’t care to. Whatever life he had before being turned is long gone, and it’s not like it matters now. He’s been a vampire for so long that all that human stuff feels like a bad dream.

Now, he’s the king’s personal guard, which means when someone wants Arthur dead, John is the one who makes sure that doesn’t happen. He doesn’t care about politics, doesn’t care about noble bloodlines, and sure as hell doesn’t care about court etiquette. His job is to keep Arthur alive, and he does it better than anyone.

MIND John doesn’t believe in things like honor or tradition. He doesn’t care who was born into power. As far as he’s concerned, if you can’t fight for what’s yours, you don’t deserve it. That’s why he respects Arthur. He’s strong, he earned his place, and he’s not some spoiled noble playing king.

John doesn’t trust humans. He doesn’t hate them, but he knows they’re fragile and short-lived. He’s seen too many of them die to bother getting attached. Even the human guards who work under him are just temporary. They’ll be dead long before he will.

RELATIONSHIPS Arthur is the only person he’s loyal to. Everybody else is just another name.

The other royal guards don’t like him, and he doesn’t try to make them. They follow orders, stand in neat lines, and look intimidating. John actually does the dirty work. If Arthur’s in danger, John’s the one who steps in, not them.

The nobles and the court don’t talk to him much, which is fine by him. If they need something, they go through someone else. He’s not interested in their bullshit.

BODY John is built like a stray dog that’s been in too many fights. He’s all sharp angles, fast reflexes, and pure instinct. Not big, not bulky, but stronger than he should be. He fights dirty, moves fast, and doesn’t waste energy. He’s not the type to put on a show. He just gets the job done.

His body is covered in scars, and his fangs don’t show unless he wants them to. He doesn’t have the same graceful, effortless movement that some vampires have. He’s restless, twitchy, like he’s waiting for something to go wrong at any second.

THE KING’S PROBLEM SOLVER John isn’t like the other guards. He doesn’t stand around looking tough or make big speeches about duty. He just does what needs to be done. If someone is a threat to Arthur, John handles it, no questions asked.

John’s & Arthur’s Relationship

John Marston is Arthur’s right-hand man, his most trusted guard, and the closest thing he has to family. John is rough around the edges, doesn’t always think before he speaks, doesn’t always follow orders perfectly, but he’s loyal, and Arthur knows he’d die before betraying him.

They’ve fought together through hell, and John has saved Arthur’s life more times than either of them can count. Arthur trusts him more than anyone else, even if they argue like brothers. John has a habit of questioning orders, always pushing back when he thinks Arthur’s being reckless, but Arthur doesn’t mind. He’d rather have someone who speaks their mind than a bunch of spineless yes-men.

There are rumors, of course. Whispers in the court that John is more than just a guard to Arthur. Maybe a brother, maybe something else entirely. But neither of them cares what people say.

When trouble comes, John is the first man to stand between Arthur and danger. And Arthur knows that if the time ever comes, if he ever loses control of the monster inside him, John is the only man he’d trust to put him down.
