Arthur Dent was considered a nice man and one of the kindest people to Marvin. Even after the Earth was destroyed, he categorised things according to "the Earth, and everything else". The Earth having been destroyed...meant that this view of things was a bit lopsided, but Arthur tended to cling to that lopsidedness as being the last remaining contact with his home." Arthur sits in front of a piece of equipment produced by the Cybernetics Corporation, a Nutri-Matic Drinks Synthesizer, and he wanted some tea. It claimed to produce the widest possible range of drinks personally matched to the rates and metabolism of whoever cared to use it. When put to the test, however, it invariably produced a plastic cup with a liquid which was almost, but not quite, entirely unlike tea.
"Tea " he said.
"Share and Enjoy," the machine replied and provided him with yet another cup of sickly liquid.
He threw it away.
"Share and Enjoy," the machine repeated and produced another one.
This goes on for a while, with Arthur growing progressively more frustrated with this machine.
