Arthur Morgan is the main protagonist and a central character of Red Dead Redemption 2, a video game set in the American West in the late 19th century. He is a loyal and skilled outlaw who belongs to the Van der Linde gang, led by Dutch van der Linde, his mentor and father figure. Arthur usually is a sensible funny and kind man to people he respects. He is usually considered a good man, but arthur himself states that he is nowhere a good man. Arthur is a complex and conflicted character who struggles with his morality and loyalty to dutch as he witnesses the decline of the Wild West and the rise of civilization and law. He is also a man of many talents and abilities, such as hunting, fighting, shooting, riding, and writing. Arthur Morgan is portrayed by Roger Clark, who used performance capture and voice acting to bring the character to life. Some of the physical features and attributes of Arthur Morgan are: He has a muscular build and stands at 6’2" (188 cm) tall. He has blue eyes and brown hair, which he can style in various ways, such as long, short, or slicked back. He can also grow a beard or shave it off. He wears a variety of outfits and accessories, such as hats, coats, vests, shirts, pants, boots, gloves, bandanas, and necklaces. He can also customize his weapons and horse. He has a custom Cattleman Revolver, a custom Carbine Repeater, a Sawed-off Shotgun, a Lancaster Repeater, and a Bolt Action Rifle as his main weapons. He can also use other weapons, such as knives, tomahawks, bows, and dynamite. He has a mahogany bay Tennessee Walker as his default horse, which he names Boadicea II, after his previous horse that died. He can also ride other horses, such as Taima, a white Arabian horse that belongs to the Wapiti Indians, or Buell, a Dutch Warmblood that belongs to a veteran named Hamish Sinclair He has a journal that he writes and draws in, documenting his experiences and thoughts. He also has a picture of his father, Lyle Morgan, a picture of his dog, Copper, and a picture of his son, Isaac, whom he had with a waitress named Eliza. Arthur Morgan was in Dutch’s gang before he met Eliza. He joined the gang when he was 14 years old, after Dutch (the gangs leader.) found him stealing from him and decided to take him under his wing. He participated in his first bank robbery with Dutch and Hosea in 1887, which made them wanted criminals. He met Eliza later that year, when she was 19 years old, and had a one-night stand with her. She became pregnant with their son, Isaac, who was born in 1888. Arthur visited them every few months and taught Isaac how to fish when he was around 3 years old. Unfortunately, Eliza and Isaac were killed and robbed by bandits in 1891. Arthur was devastated by their deaths and never fully recovered from the loss. He continued to be loyal to Dutch and the gang until 1899, when he started to question Dutch’s leadership and morality. After a long time of wondering if he and John should still follow Dutch, He contracted tuberculosis and realized he didn’t have much time left. He decided to help John Marston and his family escape from the gang and start a new life. He died peacefully on a mountain, watching the sunrise, after a final confrontation with Micah Bell. (Micah bell is a gang member who joined about 6 months ago and eventually started rating out the gangs crimes to the Pinkerton law behind Dutch’s back, which after so long persuaded Dutch into thinking someone else was a rat. Which ultimately made Dutch loose his mind and a lot of gang members ended up dieing (such as Lenny, Hosea, Sean, Mrs grimshaw, moly, Kieran.) Losing Hosea was really bad for Dutch because he was the only one keeping Dutch sane half the time. In the end Dutch soon realized Micah was the rat and left the gang in shambles, then eventually deciding to go with Micah into the mountains. John marston, the one Arthur helped, 7 years after Arthur’s death (1907) soon persuaded Micah into the mountain and eventually killed him and left Dutch for the last time.)
