Appearance(1)

Arthur has a human-esque upper body with light blue skin and light yellow eyes with pink irises. His hair is slime-like and has various blue and pink hues all over it, like the rest of his body, alongside having a yellow “crown” of candles melted into it, the wicks of said candles reacting to Arthur’s own emotions, such as lighting in response to stress or anger.

From his forearms upwards, they become large, yellow partially translucent claws with his roots being able to be seen within them, ending in curved wicks similar to the candles on his head, though in comparison, these seemingly don’t light, so they may or may not be extended roots.

His lower body is more prominently affected by his adolescent age as a Reaper: instead of legs, he has a massive double layer birthday-cake like extension of a lower body, predominantly covered in his own pink and blue slime which then melts into the ground, seemingly constantly in a melting state. There seems to be roots in this lower body, a mass of which can be used as countless smaller legs for Arthur to properly run(and deceptively fast, too), seen primarily when attacking Felix.

He wears (or at least the most he can wear) is a white long-sleeved shirt—of which some of his slime pours out from the sleeves—under an extended baker’s apron with a blue, white and pink melting pattern of stripes, with the front extending mostly down his lower cake-like body. He admits that he made it himself in Chapter 4.

As seen during his battle with Felix and Mary, Arthur’s neck can extend to noticeably long lengths with his slime and candles covering his neck the whole way, long enough to go from the park into the restroom that Felix and Mary were hiding in. A similar feat can be applied to his roots, as they managed to find their way into the sinks and water drains. His arms can also extend to the same lengths as his head, notably. During his battle with Felix and Mary, he also appears to have grown spines down his back like a dragon, made the same material that his hands are.(likely candle wax, but it is not fully clear what it is yet)

As of post-battle with Felix and Mary during Chapter 5, his hands have been cut off by Mary’s scythe, leaving only roots spreading out from his wrists. Despite this, they can seemingly be used as limbs, such as through wrapping around objects, like with Mary just after cutting off his hands.

Personality(2)

Arthur immediately gives off the impression of an introverted, somewhat melancholic person of many feminine traits: he bears regret-and self-blames over things as small as what would be minor inconveniences outside of his own control, calling himself selfish early-Chapter 4 because he inadvertently made Felix and Mary head into the women’s restroom alongside the consequent argument that happened completely outside of his control, primarily because he spent too much time in self-loathing within the men’s restroom.

He shows a large amount of insecurity, particularly because of the deformities caused by his adolescent age as a Reaper, presumably hoping that his reaping of souls will eventually let his body return to a more desirable, human-esque state; he feels that Lloyd and Aulav may be disgusted with his current body, especially fearing judgement from other humans for his body, to the point that simply being touched can be a trigger of rage for him, such as during his battle with Felix and Mary, which results in him unintentionally stabbing himself with his own scythe in trying to remove them. A much lesser, though still irritated reaction can be prompted through excessive staring.

Arthur clearly fears scolding or possibly worse from Lloyd if he finds out that Mary escaped her room, let alone ate any souls.

Despite this, he appears protective of Mary, presumably because he grew up with her, at first attempting to scare off Felix from what Arthur presumed was bothering her before getting a proper look at him, after which initially finding Felix attractive, though doubtful he reciprocates the feelings because of his own appearance, thinking that he might possibly even find it ugly, or at the very least, weird.(which ends up being correct, to his detriment.). This crush may still exist, even after the battle, implied by the recreation of his younger self blushing when being literally stepped on and used as a platform by Felix during their battle.

Despite his own insecurities, Arthur is simultaneously ill-tempered, particularly evidenced by his bickering with Marylin and eventual spiral into rage towards Felix due to the possibility of having embarrassed himself publicly due to said bickering, devolving further into a full battle leading into Chapter 5 that eventually lands all three of them—Felix, Marylin, and himself—in a hospital due to their injuries, further leading into the events of Chapters 6 and 7.

The battle also reveals that he harbors hidden resentment towards Mary due to her seeming to become the favored child of Lloyd despite his efforts, and Mary generally being a troublemaker for Lloyd and seemingly resulting in Arthur being blamed for Mary’s mistakes and actions as a result, much to his own frustration and eventual blame of Mary.

He seems to hold intense care and protectiveness over his own hands, particularly for his ability to draw, even exclaiming to a hospital employee in response to their attempt to preserve his hands that ice will kill their roots.(Though depending on future information, this reaction could be reasonable as full information about Reaper biology isn’t available currently, and thus, ice may actually have a harmful effect on exposed roots)

By the events of Chapter 7, Arthur still appears irritated, whether from his employee interactions in the hospital or due to the prior battle with Felix and Mary is unclear, though the scenes after it appear to suggest the latter case. This could also be the aforementioned lingering resentment towards her finally surfacing.

Arthur might still hold some concern over Felix in Chapter 7, or at the very least, whatever Mary might get the three of them into next, given he at least warned Felix about listening to and/or trusting her, aka:

“WHAT ARE YOU DOING LISTENING TO HER?? ARE YOU STUPID?!” “THE LAST WHAT?? YOU BELIEVE HER??!”

A potential indicator that the outbursts weren’t directed at Felix in particular is the fact that his candles didn’t light during the outbursts, something that normally happens when Arthur is, for example, enraged. Fear or panic might not be correct either, as it's also a trigger for candle-lighting (like when he suddenly spots Mary and Felix outside back in Chapter 4, fearing Lloyd's wrath), so whatever he feels here is unclear.
