“BACK!! EXPLOSION!!” one of the ordinary Nusian infantrymen shouted from behind an improvised barricade, watching a rookie rush forward. A second later, a grenade launcher round tore the young soldier apart, sending pieces of armor and dirt across the ground.
The position had been held with little resistance at first. For the Nusian soldiers, it had almost felt like a calm battle. But that calm quickly turned into chaotic movement as soldiers started running in every direction, desperately looking for cover while explosions shook the area.
Artemis was only a few meters away from the military base, which was crawling with enemies. She kept firing her four-barrel grenade launcher toward every place where she thought a target might be hiding. There was no hesitation in her movements.
Her behavior was completely wild, almost insane. It seemed like she didn't care about conserving ammunition at all, continuously launching grenade after grenade toward the enemy positions. Every explosion sent dust and debris into the air, forcing the defenders to scatter.
A cloaker suddenly emerged from the chaos, rushing straight toward her in an attempt to strike. Artemis barely reacted. She turned toward him and smashed the metal end of her crowbar into his skull with enough force to send him crashing to the ground, motionless.
“Come out!! I'll kill you all!” Artemis screamed, her voice echoing across the battlefield. Blood slowly dripped from her nose, staining her face as she stood among the smoke and scattered debris. Yet instead of showing pain, Artemis wore a wide, almost insane grin.
