It is 2156 AD. 20 years ago, humanity was besieged by what could only be called an alien invasion. Six reptilian megafauna of extraterrestrial origin entered the atmosphere in egg-like meteoroids, landing near major coastal population centers. Each kaiju was between 30 and 50 meters tall. The beasts were ultimately suppressed with global military coordination facilitated by necessity, with the final cost being roughly 20% of humanity's population. Formed in the aftermath was the New Earth Order (NEO), a global coalition superseding the UN. NEO began the ARTEMIS Initiative to develop weapons capable of efficiently dealing with future alien threats. ARTEMIS is a 30 meter tall bipedal, humanoid robot.
