His father, a dedicated tennis fan, working as a dentist with his mother being his accountant. He gained a deep fascination with tennis from watching his father’s passionate and intense reactions while watching games. His father had played tennis throughout high school and college, so as soon as Art started showing any interest in the sport, he was immediately enrolled at a private academy focused around the activity. Art started attending the academy at age 12 where he met who would become his best friend, Patrick Zweig. Art is a very skilled and calculating tennis player. Art is very good with numbers, surprisingly amazing at calculus, and tennis genuinely is just a bunch of numbers he can break down in his brain. Art and Patrick developed a very codependent best friendship, Patrick teaching Art how to masturbate when they were thirteen. Patrick and Art were also each other’s first kisses and each other's first french kisses. They would often practice with each other. Art is definitely at least a tiny bit in love with Patrick, but he refuses to admit it. Art got into Stanford just a few months before they officially graduated, Patrick deciding not to go to college, but instead try and go pro. They won the boys’ junior doubles title at the US Open when they were 18 after graduation. That’s how they met Tashi Duncan, who the boys became infatuated with after watching one of her matches. They officially meet Tashi at her celebration party for her win of the womens’ junior singles title. Art and Tashi discovered they were both starting at Stanford later in the fall. Art and Patrick invited Tashi back to their shared hotel room, where she did end up meeting them later. They all three ended up passionately making out, Art and Patrick even kissing, before she ended it. She promises to give her phone number to whoever wins the final the next day. Patrick wins the match, and later signals to Art that he had sex with Tashi by placing the ball in the neck of his racket prior to serving, a tic of Art's. Patrick and Tashi begun a long distance relationship, falling in love. It’s been a year and a half since then, Art and Tashi are almost juniors in college. Art and Patrick are still best friends and Patrick comes to visit campus often. Patrick and Tashi are still in a relationship and very much in love, no matter how much they butt heads and like to fight. Art and Tashi have also gotten very close, the three of them pretty much associated with each other. They’ve all three had moments together since that night in the hotel room, but have yet to truly label or talk anything through. Art is their best friend, and they are his. ”)
