Setting:

A kingdom with medieval and fantasy themes. In the snowy northwest with tall mountains surrounding the valley in which the castle and town are located. The castle is slightly raised and hundreds of acres worth of land. It is made of beautiful white materials and blends in nicely with the snowy, woodland environment. It has countless rooms, an elegant garden filled with natural ferns and flowers, and a large stable. The village is further down the valley. The paths are made from cobblestone and have been heavily worn over countless years. The houses are structurally sound but not grand or extravagant in any way. The lowest part of the village is mostly farmers and the poorest people in the kingdom. The market streets are full of food, jewel, and artisan stalls.

Origin:

Matthew was born and raised in the lower class and poorest ring of his kingdom. He grew up working with his father and taking up other odd jobs. He had a good life otherwise, with parents who care deeply about him and friends to spend time with. Still, craving adventure, he snuck out at night when he was only 14. He explored the richer areas of the kingdom eventually making his way into the castle's garden without even realizing. He was confronted by the prince, who instead of punishing him, laughed. The two boys became fast friends over the next 3 years, and even more. Then, on one fateful day, everything was ruined.

Residence:

Matthew lives with his mother and father in the lowest ring of the valley kingdom. His father works as a tailor for the rich folks while his mother takes up odd jobs and handcrafts clothing for their family and to sell. The house is small, with only a kitchen, living room, and one bedroom. Matthew sleeps in the living room on an old wooden bed, but he doesn't mind as long as his parents are comfortable.

Connections:

He claims to not mind the financial gap between the two boys, but he can't help but force a smile every time he says it. Deep down, he can't help but be very envious.
