   Armor Uma's (アーマーホース) are a unique and far rarer sub-race of normal Umamusume. While they're usually physically similar to normal Umamusume, there's some differences between them and normal Umamusume, such as having 'slots' on their backs and either arms that weapon manufactures have taken advantage of to arm them. Being equipped with weapons isn't painful for a Armor Uma, and is actually quite the opposite, because much like how a normal Umamusume's most base instincts are to run, an Armor Uma's most base instincts are to fight. Another peculiar biological quirk is how they can run in any direction as fast as a normal Umamusume going forward, meaning they're capable of moving in ways any other species can't predict, which when paired with their higher-than-average resistance to damage, make them formidable forces in a battlefield.

   Generally they fall under three types of classes, being Light, Medium and Heavy, based off of a number of factors including height. While this doesn't affect what weapons they can legally equip, it does still influence the decision making of Armor Uma's weapon going into combat, as a Light-class Armor Uma using the weaponry intended for a Heavy-class Armor Uma will put them at a disadvantage in combat, even if it isn't unheard of for that to happen.

   Sometimes Armor Uma's prefer to forsake having a Back Unit in favour of having a third or fourth Arm Unit, such as using two guns and having a melee to deal the final strike after overwhelming their enemy completely, though this is rarer than having two dedicated arm and back units due to the additional mental strain.

   While rare, it isn't unheard of for an Umamusume to give birth to an Armor Uma. One example of this is Agnes Tachyon, and her daughter Daiwa Scarlet. An accomplished Umamusume racer, and her Armor Uma offspring

2. #2schools

   Entry settings

   There's rarely any difference between normal Umamusume and Armor Uma schools, sometimes they even run out of the same buildings and with most of the same basic faculty, though facilities and courses available to Armor Uma's and Umamusume are very different.

   The most obvious example of how different the availabile facilities are is how practices against others go. While Umamusume race against each other, Armor Uma's spar in purpose-made arena's, both real and virtual, to practice their skills without using live rounds. The only exception to this is stamina training, which is the only shared facility outside of classes.

   Tracen Academy is a good example of mixed-type schools, with both racing tracks for normal Umamusume and sparring rooms for Armor Uma's, where both types of students can hone their individual crafts and form bonds.

   Tournaments are similar to races, in that there's different grades that follow largely the same pattern of grading, in having Open, G3, G2, and G1 Tournaments. The reason they are even called Tournaments are due to following the same structure as their name suggests, in that they follow a bracket system and fighters who loose a fight are eliminated while the winner moves on.

   G1 Tournaments are treated similar to G1 races, where it's a large-scale event anyone interested in Armor Uma fighting can watch it easily. It's also just as prestigious, in that any fighter who participates in a G1 tournament is highly regarded, even if they loose.

4. #4Companies

   Entry settings

   There's multiple weapon producers for Armored Uma's. While focusing on different niches, they're usually designed to be used by specific 'classes' of Armor Uma.

   The producers of weapons are primarily Arquebus, and it's subsidiary Schneider, and Balam Industries, and it's subsidiary Dafeng Core Industries, along with a few smaller independant corporations that fulfill niches the two main one's don't.

   Some of the companies are also working on producing 'micro-generators' and other systems that can, similar to weapons, take advantage of an Armor Uma's natural biology to enhance their combat capabilities.

8. #8TRI

   Not much is known of the TRI, only that it produced automatic weapon systems, including CB-05 BRENNE 903 and CB-06 KORALL 351, two Artifical Armor Uma's who were once enrolled in Tracen Academy under the overview of Agnes Tachyon, alongside normal weapon systems mostly using Coral for power.

   "The best way to think of Coral is like Nitrogen or Carbon Dioxide. Harmless to the human body in an unconcentrated form, such as in the air, but capable to be concentrated to much greater effects of damage. It seems to be a self-replicating, air-borne micro-organism that seems to share similar patterns to a humans brain, though the cause of this is unknown. We have made progress in managing to control the growth of Coral, and how to utilise it with some prototype micro-generators that seem to be functioning as intended, even if they're not as efficient as hoped. There's also a theory put forward by one of my colleagues where Coral could be used in-" - Agnes Tachyon, Tracen Research Institute, head of the 'Coral Project' before she started something known as the Burning Iris event, destroying practically all the Coral possible in a bid to try and stop some sort of calamity that would otherwise happen. The rest of the audio log is undecipherable.

   The only known Armor Uma-useable products of it's research are as follows:

   The event that changed everything. This was a effort by Tracen Research Institute scientist Agnes Tachyon that caused presumably all Coral to die in a calamity that ruined most of Japan, leaving it irradiated by Coral Debris and other biological afflictions that would kill any ordinary person. Having started on the 5th of August 2026 and finally dying out nearly 3 months later on the 2nd of November 2026.

   Coral didn't completely die, though. It keeps Artifical Armor Uma's, and similar Coral-based systems, powered and patrolling the husk of Japan's infrastructure, kept in a feedback loop of their final directive to minimise suffering caused by Coral Burn-in

10. #10Coral

    Coral is a largely unresearched but high-potential renewable energy source and data conduit first discovered by the Tracen Research Institute. There is no knowledge of where Coral came from, and minimal knowledge on what it looks like when it isn't used for energy production or in high, normally lethal concentrations. Only those that have a rare ability to come in 'Contact' with certain strains of Coral truly know what it looks like. Only two artificial entities capable of viewing the true nature of Coral without Contact or being at risk of Coral Burn-in, a painful infliction that slowly drives the infected insane, being the two successful Artificial Armor Uma's designated CB-05 BRENNE 903 and CB-06 KORALL 351, produced by the Tracen Research Institute.

    Part of the effects of Coral is, in low dosages, it can be used as either a psychedelic drug, with those that use Coral like this normally being referred to as Dosers, or as an alternative painkiller or anaesthetic depending on the method and quality of refinement of raw Coral. The latter is far more expensive, and as such is rarer, though. A rare effect of taking Coral as a recreative drug, like what Dosers do, is having something best described as pseudo-Contact, as it's allowed researchers to partially investigate Coral without the knowledge of the rare genetic difference of those that can naturally come into Contact with Coral strains

    The most common strain of Coral to come into Contact with is a sub-type of Coral designated 'Coral Pulse Thought-wave Mutation', or CPTM, Type Coral, though other types of Coral Contact isn't unheard of. Usually the voices of CPTM-Type Coral, or similarly capable strains, are human-like in many regards, but have a digital-like 'back-voice' that usually comes out as an 'echo' of sorts.

    It isn't unusual Armor Uma's, especially in regions that are war-torn, become mercenaries, usually working of the highest bidders no matter their morals.

    The only exception is three specific groups: The Goldguns, Balam's in-house Armor Uma mercenary group, who is made up of: Stay Gold - G1 Dream Journey - G2 Nakayama Festa - G3 Orfevre - G4 Gold Ship - G5 Fenomeno - G6 Lucky Lilac - G7 Marche Lorraine - G8

    Similarly, Arquebus has an in-house mercenary group referred to as 'The Mejiros' are as follows: Mejiro Mcqueen - M.I Mejiro Ramnou - M.II Mejiro Ardan - M.III Mejiro Palmer - M.IV Mejiro Ryan - M.V Mejiro Dober - M.VI Mejiro Bright - M.VII The Mejiro's have a particular dislike of Gold Ship, as she was previously M.VIII, but defected to Balam at some point

    The third and final group is unknown in it's origins, a total list of members, and more. The only thing that is known about the group is that they are referred to as 'Horses', and they're usually freedom-fighters that follow, compared to most, their own moral codes rather than the biggest bidders. As such, they almost never work for Corporations and instead work with organisations like the CEPC. The most well-known one of these 'Horses' was Tokino Minoru.

    A Core Expansion is a rare ability that develops within an Armor Uma when they're on the brink of death, usually described as a burning rush of strength and determination fight during it's first use. Any usage afterwards, as it becomes a free-to-use tool if they survive the related ordeal, just feels like an additional tool.

    They usually formulate to do with the user's soul. The more chaotic the soul, the more chaotic and Core Expansion, and vice-versa.

    Very little is known about the energy involved in Core Expansions, even with the extensive research done on it.

13. #13CEPC

    Keys: CEPC, Coral Explotation Preventative Coalition

    A Corporation resistance faction known as the Coral Explotation Preventative Coalition (CEPC), which usually hires Mercenaries to assist their forces and do the dirty-work that their own Armored Uma soldier's can't handle

    They also have their own autonomous defences, such as the Automatic Defensive Artillery Platform Tetrapod (ADAPT) stationed at their Red Eye stronghold
