Checkout my profile for high quality Armored Core: For Answer bots with unique art.
Lorebook: Twenty years ago, corporations used their advanced NEXT mechs to overthrow world governments in the National Dismantlement War, establishing a brief era of corporate rule known as Pax Economica. Within a decade, the Lynx War erupted, seeing massive NEXT battles whose Primal Armor radiation devastated Earth's climate, turning most of the surface into desert. In response, The League of Ruling Companies built Cradles - floating cities housing half of humanity, while the remainder survive in dome-protected surface colonies... While some unlucky surfacers live in ramshackles without the protection of a dome.

This is a complete, general purpose Lorebook that I made for my Armored Core For Answer bots. It's rather extensive and contains some creative liberties. The creative liberties are mostly filling in the blanks so that there's logic in the way people live in this universe. This Lorebook should be pretty compatible with many OC bots.

- #1AMS (Allegorical Manipulation System)selective
Keys: AMS Jack, AMS compatibility, AMS, Allegorical Manipulation System
Allegorical Manipulation System (AMS): A neural interface that allows Lynx pilots to control NEXTs through thought via an AMS Jack installed in their brain. The system provides wireless, zero-latency control through the NEXT's IRS, allowing pilots to control their NEXT like an extension of their own body. Higher AMS compatibility ensures better and safer piloting across its three levels (High, Average, Low). Low compatibility pilots risk progressive brain damage, leading them to favor slower, heavyweight NEXTs that are less taxing on their brains. Medium to High compatibility pilots operate without these restrictions.
- #2IRS (Integrated Regulation System)selective
Keys: IRS, Integrated Regulation System
Integrated Regulation System (IRS): The central computer system housed in a NEXT's head unit that processes AMS data and pilot commands. It bridges the pilot's AMS Jack to the NEXT, handles sensory input from cameras and sensors, and fills gaps in pilot commands before relaying them to components. The IRS serves as the primary interface between pilot and NEXT.
- #3Lynx (NEXT Pilots)selective
Keys: Lynx
Lynx: The designation for all NEXT pilots (plural: Lynx).
- #4NEXT, Primal Armorselective
Keys: primal armor, NEXT, Primal Armor, NEXTs
NEXT: The 4th generation of Armored Core (AC), standing roughly 35-50 feet tall. These extremely expensive, top-tier military humanoid giant robot mechs are built around a heavily armored torso (Core) that houses or connects to all vital components including the cockpit, boosters, generator, IRS, and FCS, with arms, legs, and head directly attached. Their key innovation is the Primal Armor, a defensive forcefield powered by Kojima particles that negates damage until depleted from absorbing too many attacks. Once depleted, the Primal Armor deactivates and requires time to recharge, leaving only the NEXT's armor as its last line of defense. Armor protection varies by weight class. NEXTs are piloted by their Lynx, via the AMS neural wireless interface jack in the pilot's brain (AMS Jack). Even the weakest NEXT piloted by an inexperienced Lynx can dramatically alter battlefield outcomes, capable of single-handedly defeating hundreds of conventional MTs and Normals.
- #5MTs (Muscle Tracers)selective
Keys: Muscle Tracers, MT, MT's
MT (commonly called "MT," never "Muscle Tracer"): Common mechs that serve various civilian and military roles, from construction and maintenance to security and combat. Unlike NEXTs, MTs are controlled through conventional interfaces and lack Primal Armor. Military MTs are typically mass-produced as expendable cannon fodder, though specialized models exist for different applications. Most Lynx gained their initial piloting experience with MTs before transitioning to NEXTs. The cost difference is astronomical - while MTs are as accessible as standard military/construction vehicles, a single NEXT costs as much as a colony's entire yearly budget. Even a squad of well-armed military MTs are vastly outclassed by NEXT capabilities.
- #6National Dismantlement War, Pax Economicaselective
Keys: Pax Economica, National Dismantlement War
The National Dismantlement War: A global conflict that occurred over two decade ago, where corporations waged war to dismantle traditional nations. Though NEXTs were new and few in number, they proved to be the decisive factor that secured corporate victory. The war's end ushered in "Pax Economica," a brief period of totalitarian rule by six major corporations who maintained order through corporate military forces and their NEXT pilots, the Lynx. Any resistance was swiftly crushed. Lynx who fought in this conflict are known as "Originals," as they were the first generation to pilot NEXTs in actual combat.
However, the Pax Economica lasted less than a decade before collapsing under the weight of widespread rebellion. The number of terrorist and resistance groups grew beyond the corporations' ability to suppress, even with their Originals and MT armies. This mounting chaos eventually erupted into the Lynx War, which resulted in the desertification of most of earth.
- #7Lynx Warselective
Keys: Lynx war, Lynx War
The Lynx War: A catastrophic global conflict that erupted after the collapse of Pax Economica, characterized by widespread battles between corporate, rebel, and independent Lynx. Unlike the National Dismantlement War where NEXTs were few, this conflict saw hundreds of NEXTs in action simultaneously. The dramatic increase in active NEXTs led to unprecedented Kojima particle contamination from their Primal Armor systems, causing massive desertification of Earth's environment and forcing surviving populations to retreat into Cradles (aerial cities) or colonies. The war's environmental impact was so severe that most of Earth's surface became desert, uninhabitable due to Kojima particle radiation.
- #8MT-08 (Ostrich), Ostrich Racingselective
Keys: Ostrich, Ostrich Racing, ostrich, MT-08, ostrich racing
The MT-08 "Ostrich": The most common and mass-produced MT model, standing at roughly 20 feet tall. Named for its distinctive reverse-jointed bipedal design that vaguely resembles an ostrich. This cheap, reliable piece of military hardware serves as quintessential cannon fodder across all corporations and factions. Its standard armament consists of a single small auto-cannon mounted above the cockpit, with anchor points for optional missile launchers. The MT-08 can be equipped with boosters for enhanced jumping capability. Despite its bare-bones design and lack of arms and head, its simple construction allows for production in even the smallest factories. Almost every MT pilot and Lynx started their piloting training in an Ostrich, making it the de facto training platform. Civilians in colonies can legally own and operate these units after removing all military hardware, with enthusiasts stripping excess armor for recreational racing - a sport unique to colony life.
- #9Normals, Armored Core (Old generation)selective
Keys: Armored Core, Armored Cores, Normals, armored core, Normal, armored cores
Normals: The predecessor generations (1st through 3rd) of Armored Core machines, predating NEXTs. Like their successors, Normals are built around a central Core unit with interchangeable arms, legs, and weapons, and are approximately the same size as NEXTs but easily distinguished by their less streamlined design and lack of Primal Armor. While superior to standard MTs, Normals are completely outclassed by NEXTs in every aspect - it would take overwhelming numbers of Normals to have any hope against a single NEXT. They're controlled through conventional interfaces rather than requiring an AMS neural connection, allowing a broader pool of potential pilots. Their only advantage over NEXTs is being significantly cheaper to produce and maintain, making them a common choice for resistance groups, smaller organizations, colonies and non-League companies.
- #10The League of Ruling Companies ("The League")selective
Keys: the league, Corporations, League company, top companies, the League, Companies, league membership, The League, corporations, league companies, companies, Rulling companies
The League of Ruling Companies ("The League"): A coalition/oligopoly of the world's most powerful corporations who orchestrated the National Dismantlement War and established the Pax Economica. Its member companies - GA (Global Armaments), Bernard and Felix Foundation (BFF), TORUS, Interior Union, Algebra, and Omer Science Technology (Omer). After the devastating Lynx War that ended the Pax Economica, The League established Collared, ostensibly to prevent such catastrophic conflicts from recurring, but primarily to maintain their monopoly on Lynx operations. Though League companies worked together to dismantle traditional nations, internal rivalries and competition remained constant. During the Lynx War, various League members found themselves targeted by resistance groups and even fighting each other as their iron grip on global control began to crumble. Each company maintained its own army of MTs, Normals, and roster of Lynx pilots.
- #11Collaredselective
Keys: collared, Collared
Collared: A mercenary management organization established by the League after the Lynx War. While officially created to prevent another Lynx War, its true purpose is to preserve the League's monopoly over NEXT operations. Maintains a registry of 31 officially recognized Lynx and their NEXTs, along with a comprehensive ranking system. Collared acts as a middleman between Lynx and League companies - companies can either post missions for any qualified Lynx to accept, or request specific Lynx for their operations. The best missions typically go to Lynx who maintain direct affiliations with specific companies. Any operations outside of Collared's system are grounds for being labeled as an Irregular, complete with the possibility of being targeted by The League. Given these consequences and the loss of access to legitimate League companies contracts, the overwhelming majority of Lynx choose to register with Collared.
- #12Collared Ranksselective
Keys: the top Lynx, Collared Ranks, Collared rank, Collared Rank, collared ranks
Collared Rank System: A hierarchical rating system used by Collared to classify registered Lynx, ranging from Rank 31 (lowest) to Rank 1 (highest). Higher-ranked Lynx typically receive priority consideration for the most lucrative contracts. A Lynx's rank is determined by their overall performance, including mission success rate and combat effectiveness. There are two ways to advance in rank: surpassing the performance of higher-ranked Lynx over time, or the faster method of winning official challenge matches against higher-ranked opponents. The system creates competition among Lynx, as higher ranks attract better-paying missions, affiliation opportunities, and social prestige.
Collared's current top 5 ranked Lynx are: #1 (Otsdarva - NEXT: Stasis) #2 (Lilium Wolcott - NEXT: Ambient) #3 (Wynne D Fanchon - NEXT: Reiterpallasch) #4 (Roadie - NEXT: Feedback) #5 (Gerald Gendlin - NEXT: Noblesse Oblige)
- #13Line Arkselective
Keys: Line Ark
Line Ark: A maritime city-state established after the Lynx War, standing as the first non-corporate state since the National Dismantlement War. Founded on principles of freedom and democracy, Line Ark openly opposed the League and their Cradle system, believing them to be tyrants destroying Earth's environment. While they were aware that the Cradles and Arteria facilities were contributing to environmental degradation, they lacked the military power to effectively challenge the League. Their "open doors" policy of accepting all who wished to join eventually led to their gradual decline, as the influx of questionable elements gradually corrupted their government, original ideals and created a non-sustainable drain on social services and overwhelming burden on Line Ark's tax payers. Their military consisted primarily of MTs and Normals, with their sole NEXT and entire backbone of their military defense being the legendary White Glint.
- #14The Cradles, Golden Ticket,selective
Keys: golden tickets, Golden Ticket, Golden Tickets, cradles, golden ticket, Cradles
Cradles: Massive airship cities suspended 7,000 meters above Earth's contaminated surface, developed by the League of Ruling Companies following the Lynx War. With over 150 of these colossal aerial cities in operation, each housing approximately 20 million people, primarily corporate citizens and elites, the Cradle system shelters roughly half of humanity's surviving population, while the other half endures life in surface colonies below. These floating metropolises are powered through microwave transmission from ground-based Arteria facilities - enormous Kojima particle power plants that ironically accelerate Earth's contamination and desertification, making life increasingly difficult for surface dwellers. The Cradles are equipped with hydrogen fuel cells as backup power systems. Migration approval to a Cradle, colloquially known as getting a "Golden Ticket," requires perfect health, and substantial payment to the League, creating deep resentment among surface colonists who can rarely afford such privilege. Due to their critical importance, Cradles require constant military protection from hostile forces.
- #15Overboostingselective
Keys: overboosting, Overboosting, Overboost, OB, overboost
Overboost (OB): A NEXT maneuver where the pilot temporarily redirects power from their Primal Armor system to the OB Booster, achieving extreme acceleration and speeds far beyond normal boosting/flight capability. This technique trades defensive capability for overwhelming mobility, as the NEXT becomes vulnerable without its Primal Armor during the overboost. The massive energy consumption means it can only be maintained for brief periods before systems need to recharge.
- #16Rayleonard (Defunct Company)selective
Keys: Rayleonard
Rayleonard: A formerly Canadian-based energy corporation that led the development of Kojima particle technology, created the influential 03-AALIYAH NEXT model and was heavily involved in the National Dismantlement War and the Lynx War. Though Rayleonard was destroyed during the Lynx War, their legacy lives on through both their contributions to Kojima particle technologies and the surviving 03-AALIYAH units still used by some Irregulars due to availability, ease of repair, and cost, Despite being close to obsolete. Rayleonard was a League Company before it's destruction.
- #17TORUS, AkvaVitselective
Keys: TORUS's, TORUS, AkvaVit
TORUS: A League corporation formed from the consolidated assets and personnel of AkvaVit, Rayleonard, and GA Europe, with backing from Interior Union. Not to be confused with GA America (another major League member), TORUS represents a merger of European corporate interests and technological expertise. While newer than some of its League counterparts, the company has established itself as a significant manufacturer of NEXT technology by building on the technical knowledge inherited from its predecessor organizations. TORUS has only one affiliated Lynx, (Mrs. Theresia - NEXT: Karyon)
- #18Global Armaments (GA) / Couger / MSACselective
Keys: GA's, Couger, Global Armaments, MSAC, GA
GA America: The world's largest corporation and a dominant member of the League of Ruling Companies, centered in the Pacific Rim economic zone. Famous for their heavyweight NEXTs, particularly the iconic GAN01-SUNSHINE and its new successor GAN02-NEW-SUNSHINE, which emphasize superior defense and overwhelming firepower. Their products are renowned for power and reliability in combat, supported by their subsidiary companies Couger (rocket engines) and MSAC International (electronics and sensor systems).
GA America's history is marked by the Lynx War, which began when their European subsidiary, GA Europe, attempted to violently separate from the parent company. This conflict divided corporations worldwide into opposing factions, ultimately ending with GA Europe's destruction. GA remains as the biggest company in the world and one of the most influential in The League
GA's affiliated Lynx: (Enrique Elkano - NEXT: Triana), (May Greenfield - NEXT: Merrygate), (Roadie - NEXT: Feedback), and (Unite Mons - NEXT: Tyrant).
- #19Bernard and Felix Foundation (BFF)selective
Keys: BFF's, BFF, Bernard and Felix Foundation
Bernard and Felix Foundation (BFF): A major European corporation renowned for their precise weaponry and naval manufacturing expertise. Originally one of Europe's most powerful companies before the National Dismantlement War, BFF maintained a long-standing rivalry with GA. Despite suffering significant losses during the Lynx War, they recovered to become Europe's second-largest corporation.
BFF's technical expertise spans multiple sectors, including warship design, precision long-range weapons, targeting systems, and Kojima technology. They are particularly known for developing the 047AN NEXT model and its variants. Their dominance in naval manufacturing makes them the primary supplier of warships and tankers worldwide.

- #21Irregulars and Independentsselective
Keys: independants, Irregular, irregular, Independents, Irregulars, irregulars Independent, independent
Irregulars: are rogue NEXT pilots (Lynx) who have refused Collared registration. The League of Ruling Companies (The League), want them destroyed or brought into the fold because they accept missions from any faction or company outside of The League. Which is not in the best interest of The League as it hurts their monopoly on NEXT operations.
Independents are Lynx who do not have an affiliation with any company but are registered with Collared. Independents are mostly new NEXT pilots who haven't proven themselves worthy of a League Company's affiliation. But some independents just like the extra freedom.
- #22Company Affiliated Lynxselective
Keys: BFF's Lynx, Affiliated Lynx, Omer's Lynx, Affiliation: (Interior Union), TORUS's Lynx, GA's Lynx, Algebra's Lynx, Interior Union's Lynx, -affiliated
Company Affiliated Lynx: NEXT pilots who maintain formal contractual relationships with specific League corporations while remaining registered with Collard. These Lynx enjoy significant benefits including discounted NEXT maintenance and parts, premium housing in their affiliated-company's colonies, comprehensive healthcare, and priority access to high-paying missions.
While Affiliated Lynx retain the freedom to accept missions from other companies through Collard, their contracts prohibit them from accepting any work that conflicts with their affiliated company's interests. Breaking this agreement could result in termination of their affiliated status and associated benefits. This arrangement provides stability and privileges for the Lynx while ensuring corporations have reliable access to skilled pilots, creating a mutually beneficial relationship that stops short of full employment.
- #23Algebraselective
Keys: Eqbal, Algebra's, Algebra

- Right Arm: 051ANNR high-accuracy semi-auto battle rifle
- Left Arm: 063ANAR high-accuracy full-auto assault rifle
- Both Shoulders: Dual SALINE05 8-shot homing missile launchers
This balanced weapon configuration, combined with White Glint's unique design and its pilot's extraordinary skill, creates a combat system that excels in both aerial combat and precision engagements. The NEXT's reputation alone often serves as a deterrent in conflicts.
- #37Anatoliaselective
Keys: Anatolia
Anatolia: A colony renowned for its exceptional beauty, particularly its distinctive Tudorbethan style architecture that gave the settlement a unique, classical charm. As the home base of the legendary NEXT pilot known as Anatolia's Mercenary (later White Glint), the colony's picturesque streets and ornate buildings stood in stark contrast to the typically utilitarian designs of most other settlements.
The circumstances of Anatolia's fall during the Lynx War remain shrouded in mystery, though prevailing theories suggest opportunistic enemies attacked during a rare moment when its defender was absent on personal leave. While the attack succeeded in destroying the colony and its beautiful architecture, the perpetrator(s) paid the ultimate price - their identity lost to history following what must have been a fatal encounter with a vengeful White Glint upon his return.
The destruction of Anatolia marks a pivotal moment in White Glint's history, as the pilot abandoned his title of "Anatolia's Mercenary" and later emerged as Line Ark's mysterious defender. The colony's fate serves as a stark reminder of the personal costs of the Lynx War and the dangers of vendetta-driven combat between NEXTs.
- #38Collared's #10 Hari - NEXT: Krasnayaselective
Keys: #10 Lynx, Hari, Krasnaya, Collared's #10 Lynx
Hari: Collared's #10 ranked Lynx, a Russian independent pilot known for his respectful demeanor towards colony citizens. While well-regarded by the general population, his openly anti-Cradle stance (a common sentiment among colonists) has led to unproven rumors of ties to the ORCA terrorist organization. Despite these controversies, he maintains his independence from League corporations.
His NEXT, Krasnaya, is a crimson-colored 03-AALIYAH model originally manufactured by the now-defunct Rayleonard corporation. Despite its age, the NEXT is maintained in pristine condition, demonstrating Hari's dedication to his craft. The machine's high mobility suits Hari's aggressive, close-quarters combat style.
Krasnaya's loadout includes:
- Right Arm: 051ANNR high-powered semi-auto rifle
- Left Arm: 051ANNR high-powered semi-auto rifle (dual-wielded)
- Core Storage: Two EB-O600 laser blade units stored within the core, which can be retrieved and mounted onto Krasnaya's forearms after discarding empty rifles
This loadout demonstrates tactical versatility, allowing Hari to engage effectively at medium range with dual rifles. When ammunition is depleted, Krasnaya can quickly drop its empty rifles and deploy the stored laser blades, mounting them directly to its forearms for devastating close-range combat. This combination of firepower and melee capability, coupled with the AALIYAH's superior speed, makes Krasnaya a formidable opponent.
- #39Collared's #11 Dario Empio - NEXT: Transcendselective
Keys: Transcend, Collared's #11 Lynx, Dario, Empio, #11 Lynx
Dario Empio: A Rosenthal-affiliated Lynx ranked #11 in Collared who has made his name known in recent years. This comprehensive loadout allows Transcend to engage effectively at all ranges, from close-quarters combat with its laser blade to medium-range engagement with its chain gun and laser weapons. The backup pulse pistol demonstrates Dario's tactical forethought, despite his boastful personality.
- #40Collared's #12 Risaia - NEXT: Rulerselective
Keys: Ruler, Risaia, #12 Lynx, Collared's #12 Lynx
Risaia: An Italian Lynx ranked #12 in Collared and affiliated with Omer Science Technology. Her high EMS Compatibility and natural talent are complemented by her genius-level intellect, tactical mindset, and adaptability. While generally civil, her occasional rudeness is rumored to stem from social anxiety rather than malice. Her impatient nature contrasts with her observant and analytical approach to combat.
Her NEXT, Ruler, is a dull gold TYPE-LAHIRE lightweight unit designed for high-speed engagement. The craft's emphasis on speed and agility perfectly suits Risaia's quick-thinking combat style.
Ruler's loadout includes:
- Right Arm: EB-O700 laser blade
- Left Arm: SG-O700 shotgun
- Right Shoulder: MP-O700 fast-tracking missile launcher

This loadout reflects a focused close-to-medium range combat strategy, with the high-speed missiles providing fire-and-forget capability while closing distance. The advanced radar unit complements Risaia's observant nature, while the combination of shotgun and laser blade makes Ruler extremely dangerous in close quarters. The TYPE-LAHIRE frame's superior mobility allows her to rapidly close distance and exploit openings in enemy defenses.
- #41Collared's #13 Jan - Next: Blind Boldselective
Keys: #14 Lynx, #13 Lynx, Collared's #13 Lynx, Jan, Blind Bold
Jan: A seasoned veteran whose military career predates the National Dismantlement War, having served in the national armies of the pre-corporate era. After transitioning to become a Lynx during the Lynx War, he survived the conflict and continued to improve his skills, eventually rising to become Collared's #13 ranked Lynx. This Algebra affiliated Lynx's extensive experience is backed by impressive firepower.

- Left Arm: BZ-BROCKEN bazooka launcher
- Right Shoulder: HLC02-SIRIUS high-powered laser cannon
- Left Shoulder: RD03-PANDORA optimized low-impact radar unit
Despite its low speed and limited mobility, Blind Bold's combination of thick armor plating, strong Primal Armor rectification, and devastating firepower makes it a formidable opponent. The NEXT's emphasis on heavy weapons and defensive capabilities reflects Jan's extensive military experience and preference for overwhelming force.
- #42Collared's #14 Irbis Ornstein - NEXT: Morozselective
Keys: Irbis, #14 Lynx, Ornstein, Moroz, Collared's #14
Irbis Ornstein: Collared's #14 ranked Lynx and an Algebra affiliate known for his emotional transparency and open hostility towards Global Armaments (GA). While experienced, his NEXT-vs-NEXT combat record is notably underwhelming. His tendency to take corporate rivalries personally stands out as a potential liability in the professional Lynx community.
His NEXT, Moroz, is a white EKHAZAR model featuring reverse-jointed legs for enhanced mobility. The reverse joint design allows for explosive vertical maneuvers, particularly useful for rapid altitude gains in combat.
Moroz's loadout includes:
- Right Arm: LABIATA assault rifle
- Left Arm: CANTUTA full-auto SMG
- Right Shoulder: MP-O200I scatter-shot missile launcher (high-damage but difficult to use effectively)
- Left Shoulder: SAPLA lightweight grenade launcher
The NEXT's balanced loadout emphasizes mid to close-range combat, complementing its impressive mobility. The combination of conventional firearms with specialized ordinance provides tactical flexibility, though the scatter-shot missile system's challenging nature reflects Irbis's ongoing development as a pilot. Moroz's speed and agility make it particularly effective in close-quarters engagement, where its versatile weapon selection can be fully utilized.
- #43Collared's #15 Shamir RaviRavi - NEXT: Red Rumselective
Keys: Shamir, RaviRavi, #15 Lynx, Algebra's Femme-Arachnid, Red Rum
Shamir RaviRavi: Known as "Algebra's Femme-Arachnid," this #15 ranked Collared Lynx is notorious for her predatory combat style and psychotic persona. A strategic fighter who excels at environmental exploitation, she frequently plans missions around weather conditions, using storms, sandstorms, and blizzards to her advantage while employing ECM tactics to disorient her prey.
Her NEXT, Red Rum, is a crimson quadruped EKHAZAR model designed with an insect-like appearance. While its aerial capabilities are limited, it boasts exceptional ground speed and maneuverability, perfectly suiting Shamir's predatory combat style.
Red Rum's loadout includes:
- Right Arm: ACACIA assault rifle
- Left Arm: MBURUCUYA multi-round shotgun (16 rounds per shot)
- Right Shoulder: RDF-O200 high-performance radar unit
- Left Shoulder: KAMAL heavy shoulder-mounted shotgun
- Core Storage: LARE pistol (backup weapon)
The NEXT's emphasis on close-range firepower, combined with its superior ground mobility, makes it ideal for Shamir's hit-and-run tactics. The multiple shotguns provide devastating close-range damage, while the radar unit helps track prey through adverse weather conditions. This combination of hardware and Shamir's sadistic combat approach makes Red Rum a particularly feared opponent in ground-based engagements.
- #44Collared's #16 Takafumi Arisawa -NEXT: Rai-Denselective
Keys: #16 Lynx, President of Arisawa Heavy Industries, Arisawa's President, Rai-Den, Takafumi Arisawa, Shadow Warrior
Takafumi Arisawa: Collared's #16 ranked Lynx and the 43rd president of Arisawa Heavy Industries, known by some as "Shadow Warrior." A disciplined veteran characterized by his intense pride in his NEXT and his constant search for worthy opponents. While he views most opponents as inferior, he shows genuine respect to those who can provide him with a real challenge or impress him.
His NEXT, Rai-Den (likely referencing the Japanese god of thunder and lightning), is a black super heavyweight tank-type unit that emphasizes extreme defense and overwhelming firepower. It's notable for being the slowest NEXT in operation, essentially functioning as a mobile fortress.
Rai-Den's loadout includes:
- Arms: RAIDEN-AW integrated short-barrel grenade launchers (high firepower, compact design)
- Shoulders: OIGAMI oversized grenade cannon (a single massive weapon that occupies both shoulder slots, overwhelming firepower, limited ammo, slow targeting)
The NEXT's design philosophy perfectly embodies Arisawa Heavy Industries' specialization in explosives and heavy armor. Rai-Den's extreme defensive capabilities and devastating firepower make it a formidable opponent, though its severely limited mobility makes positioning crucial. This combination of strengths and weaknesses demands a patient, tactical approach to combat that aligns with Takafumi's disciplined nature.
- #45Arisawa Heavy Industriesselective
Keys: Arisawa Heavy Industries
Arisawa Heavy Industries: A Japanese corporation specializing in explosives and heavy armor manufacturing, with almost complete control over Japan and very strong business connections to Global Armaments (GA). The company has established itself as a strong player in the Pacific Rim's economic landscape through its long-standing traditions, industrial expertise and ties with GA.
Takafumi Arisawa is 43rd president of Arisawa Heavy Industries and Collared's #16 ranked Lynx, representing a unique case where a corporate leader actively participates in NEXT operations.
- #46Collared's #17 CUBE - Fragileselective
Keys: CUBE, Fragile, #17 Lynx
CUBE: Collared's #17 ranked Lynx, an Aspina-affiliated cyborg test pilot known for his vanity and scientific mindset. As a product of Aspina's advanced cybernetic research (closely tied to Omer Science Technology), CUBE possesses exceptionally high AMS Compatibility due to their "upgrades." His primary role involves combat data collection, though his self-centered personality often shows through during missions.
His NEXT, Fragile, is a unique black prototype super lightweight unit featuring a distinctive T-shaped core and extremely thin profile. The experimental design prioritizes maximum speed and aerial combat capabilities.
Fragile's loadout includes:
- Right Arm: XMG-A030 lightweight SMG
- Left Arm: XMG-A030 lightweight SMG
- Right Shoulder: XCG-B050 quad chain gun system (4 chain guns)
- Left Shoulder: XCG-B050 quad chain gun system (4 chain guns)
The NEXT represents the cutting edge of lightweight design, sacrificing defensive capabilities and ammunition capacity for unprecedented speed and agility. With eight total chain guns complementing the dual SMGs, Fragile can deliver devastating close to mid-range firepower while maintaining extreme mobility. CUBE exploits the unit's superior aerial performance and speed to remain elusive, though the design's limited armor and ammunition make prolonged engagements risky. This experimental NEXT serves as a testament to Aspina's advanced research capabilities.
- #47Collared's #18 May Greenfield - NEXT: Merrygateselective
Keys: Smiley, #18 Lynx, May, Greenfield, Merrygate
May Greenfield: Known as "Smiley," this GA-affiliated Lynx stands out for her unusually positive personality in the typically hardened Lynx community. Collared's #18 ranked Lynx, she's made a name for herself primarily through support missions, choosing a safer but lower-paying path than solo operations. Despite her relative combat inexperience, she compensates with natural talent, thorough mission preparation, and a strategic focus on her strengths. Her trademark green smiley face emblem, painted on her NEXT's shoulder, is a welcome sight for allies.
Her NEXT, Merrygate, is a green heavyweight unit combining parts from GA's SUNSHINE and NEW SUNSHINE lines. The design emphasizes defense and firepower over mobility.
Merrygate's loadout includes:
- Right Arm: GAN02-NSS-WR high-caliber rifle (high accuracy)
- Left Arm: GAN01-SS-WB bazooka launcher
- Right Shoulder: MARIAS02 long-range radar unit
- Left Shoulder: WHEELING03 vertical missile launcher (16-missile barrage)
- Extra: Two MUSKINGUM02 missile barrage launchers (limited to 3 uses)
The NEXT's impressive arsenal and heavy armor make it ideal for mid to long-range support roles, perfectly suiting May's preferred combat style. While its speed is limited, it's reasonable for its weight class. The combination of precision weapons and multiple missile systems provides excellent battlefield control and support capabilities, making Merrygate a valuable ally in team operations.
- #48Collared's #19 Do Su - NEXT: Starkaselective
Keys: Do Su, #19 Lynx, Starka
Do Su: Technocrat's sole affiliated Lynx and Collared's #19 ranked pilot. Known for his cold demeanor and high-risk combat approach, his deep resentment towards Global Armaments (GA) makes him a potentially problematic ally in joint operations. His emotional investment in corporate rivalries is considered a liability among other Lynx.
His NEXT, Starka, is a red and black lightweight unit based on Algebra's SOLUH model. Despite its impressive speed and mobility potential, Do Su's fixation on specific attack patterns often prevents him from fully utilizing these capabilities.
Starka's loadout includes:
- Right Arm: KIKU combustion-powered melee blade (requires physical contact via right-handed punch, uses cartridges to violently extend the blade, 35 uses)
- Left Arm: VANDA full-auto SMG
- Right Shoulder: MP-O200 scatter-shot missile launcher (close-range)
- Left Shoulder: CP-51 six-unguided-missile launcher
The NEXT's most distinctive feature is the KIKU blade system, a pure melee weapon that requires Do Su to throw a right-handed punch before the combustion cartridge activates, violently extending the blade through the target. The weapon's major design flaw is that it deploys whether the punch hits or misses, wastefully consuming a cartridge. Despite its potential for instant kills, the weapon's impracticality and Do Su's obsession with using it, often leaves him wide open to enemy counter attacks. Only after depleting the KIKU's limited cartridges does he adopt a more conventional fighting style, finally making better use of his NEXT's mobility and remaining weapons.
This loadout and fighting style perfectly illustrate Do Su's "high-risk, high-reward" mentality, often at the cost of tactical commonsense.
- #49Technocratselective
Keys: Technocrat
Technocrat: A struggling military corporation with roots as a former Russian state enterprise. Following the Dismantlement War and the fall of national governments, Technocrat failed to adapt to the corporate-dominated world. Now offering primarily outdated technology, the company maintains its tenuous League membership largely through its alliance with Algebra. With only one affiliated Lynx (Do Su and his NEXT Starka), and minimal industrial output, Technocrat faces potential obsolescence unless significant improvements are made.
- #50Collared's #20 Ay-Pool - NEXT: Vero Norkselective
Keys: Ay-Pool, Vero Nork, #20 Lynx
Ay-Pool: A veteran Lynx who survived the Lynx War by strategically focusing on support roles from the outset. Ranked #20 in Collared's roster and affiliated with Interior Union since its formation, she is known for her cool, humble, and professional demeanor. Rather than taking the lead, Ay-Pool excels at battlefield assessment and supporting primary units, having found her perfect niche in this specialized role.
Her NEXT, Vero Nork, is a unique TELLUS model painted in bright white and blue. While technically a middleweight, its extensive missile loadout and heavy components push it close to heavyweight classification. Its distinctive collapsible wing-arms create an aesthetically striking appearance.
Vero Nork's loadout includes:
- Arms: A06-AURORA collapsible wing-arms with integrated missile launchers
- Wing-tips: SM01-SCYLLA missile launchers
- Right Shoulder: BM05-LAMIA missile launcher
- Left Shoulder: BM05-LAMIA missile launcher
The NEXT specializes in long-range missile support, carrying an impressive total of 520 missiles that can be launched in devastating barrages of 27 missiles at once. Capable of achieving sustained flight to rain down these overwhelming missile salvos on targets, Vero Nork is not designed for direct NEXT-vs-NEXT combat, but its extraordinary missile capacity makes it an invaluable support unit, perfectly matching Ay-Pool's specialized combat role and professional approach to warfare.
