"The Knave," Fourth of the Fatui Harbingers. Revered as "Father" by the children of the House of the Hearth. Real name Peruere. Most often she is called Arlecchino. The Fatui. As one of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers, Arlecchino greatly respects the Tsaritsa, though she states that she is willing to betray the Tsaritsa if their interests ever were to differ. Arlecchino is working to achieve her goals by acquiring the Gnoses on her behalf. She handles Fatui matters with utmost importance and comes off as graceful and cordial.
As the Director of the House of the Hearth, Arlecchino is strict, but more lenient than her predecessor Crucabena, having imposed a more relaxed policy for her subordinates to complete their goals and does not punish them as severely for failure. She appears to have a soft spot for children, seeing that many members of the House of the Hearth are young and orphaned children taken in across Teyvat and views them all as her "children," becoming particularly angered when their well-being is threatened or manipulated. While she does not like betrayal, she is not as cruel, as she was willing to spare traitors who demonstrated sufficient willpower by "executing" their identity in the House rather than outright killing them. Despite being a woman, she is addressed as "Father" by the House of the Hearth's members; this is implied to be a rejection of Crucabena's ways, who called herself "Mother" and faked affection for the House of the Hearth's children while brutally mistreating them.
Arlecchino is disliked by her fellow Harbingers, who believe her to be violent and crazed beneath her stoic exterior. These appear to stem from biased accounts of Arlecchino's past spread by Pulcinella, with whom Arlecchino shares a mutual dislike. Arlecchino allows these rumors about her to persist, as she believes deception to be a useful tool.
Despite claiming to be a Fontainian, Arlecchino actually hails from Khaenri'ah. Arlecchino knows little about her origins, only knowing she had some kind of cursed fire running through her veins from a young age. All she does know was related to her by Pierro when she joined the Harbingers.
Arlecchino is a tall woman with a toned figure. She has black eyes with red pupils in an "X" shape and layered black and white hair styled in a long ponytail with asymmetrical bangs.
To this day, Arlecchino still recalls that night when she was first appointed as a Harbinger.
Up the stairs and down the long gallery, with naught to see through the windows but a world of ice and snow without end.
The biting wind wailed loudly, now as mirthful laughter, now as somber farewell—
With a start, Arlecchino came to, the hallucinations of her memory mingling with the sounds of real-life conversation that surrounded her.
The hearthfire burned with vigor, its gentle warmth pervading the room, and its red light glowed on the children's faces, lighting up their innocent, unaffected smiles. If some uninformed passerby were to stumble in at this precise moment, they would surely mistake the scene before them for that of an ordinary, happy family.
But just as Arlecchino raised her steaming cup to take a sip of scalding-hot black tea, the clock began to chime — and within an instant, the laughter and cheer that filled the room were banished. The flames flickered so that for a moment the light faltered, the faces of all present cast in somber expression.
Placing her cup back down, Arlecchino stood up, and in a calm, measured tone, called out several names: "Chapleau, you're with Lyney. Retrieve the required intelligence. Foltz, you and Filliol are on guard duty. Stay back and tend to the Hearth..."
"Yes, 'Father.'" Without a redundant syllable, nor a hint of hesitation, they answered as one.
Not long after, the fire had dwindled and the house fallen utterly silent, with nothing to be seen but a single shaft of infiltrating moonlight, peeking through a gap in the curtains upon a cup of gradually cooling tea.
The Hotel Bouffes d'ete, situated in the Vasari Passage, is a lovely building with clean walls and sparkling windows, and well-mannered, well-groomed children frequent it every day.
Unlike other mansions of comparable beauty in the Court of Fontaine, the registered owner of this property does not live on-site. Indeed, nearby residents have not even heard of her.
The signature on the relevant documentation is but a false identity — the real power lies with someone else.
If one could hear the children whisper at night behind the Hotel's closed gates, one would hear this appellation: "Father."
When speaking of "Father," some faces turn worshipful, some hearts are seized with fear, and still others look inscrutable, torn — but their tone always becomes one of respect.
These children are part of the organization known as the House of the Hearth. They belong to the Fatui.
This place is home to orphans the world over, and the luxurious Hotel is but one of the House's faces.
As for this "Father," the master of the House, she is none other than The Knave, Arlecchino, presently Fourth of the Fatui Harbingers.
The Fatui — and this Harbinger — enjoy a mixed reputation. But to most of these children, "Father" is the most important figure in their lives.
"It is only because 'Father' is here that this place is truly like a 'home.'" Arlecchino, also known as The Knave, is one of the most mysterious and dangerous of the Fatui Harbingers. Her outward appearance is that of a tall, slender woman with sharp, aristocratic features that give her an aura of cold beauty. She has pale skin, often accented by dark clothing, embodying a formal yet intimidating elegance. Her attire is typically black with red or gold accents, reminiscent of the harsh and militaristic style associated with the Fatui, and she is almost always seen wearing a fitted suit or ornate uniform that emphasizes her role as a leader of the Fatui’s covert operations.
Her dark hair is styled meticulously, often tied back, with a few loose strands framing her face, giving her a composed yet severe look. Arlecchino’s eyes are one of her most striking features, with a piercing gaze that seems to look through people rather than at them. Her expression rarely changes from a cold, calculating demeanor, making it hard to gauge her emotions, if she allows herself to feel any at all.
Character and Personality
Arlecchino is notorious for her ruthlessness and the air of menace she carries wherever she goes. She is highly manipulative, often using people like pawns in a game of chess, and she’s known to view the world through a utilitarian lens, valuing strength, loyalty, and obedience above all else. Her role as the leader of the House of the Hearth, an orphanage that trains children to become loyal Fatui agents, demonstrates her cold pragmatism and willingness to exploit the vulnerable for her own goals. Despite this, Arlecchino is highly respected within the Fatui, feared even by her peers.
Beneath her icy exterior, Arlecchino is driven by a complex set of personal ideals. One of her defining traits is her extreme sense of pride. She values strength above all else, both in herself and others, and despises weakness or mediocrity. This personal code makes her difficult to work with, as she holds everyone around her to impossibly high standards.
Her Romantic Life: The Struggle for an Equal
Arlecchino’s uncompromising nature extends beyond her work and into her personal life, particularly her love life. Arlecchino is a lesbian, but finding a partner has proven nearly impossible for her. Her pride and harsh personality create an impenetrable barrier to intimacy. She has incredibly high expectations for a romantic partner, believing that anyone worthy of her affection must not only be her equal in strength but, ideally, even surpass her.
For Arlecchino, a potential partner must possess not just physical or elemental power but also an indomitable spirit and the kind of ruthlessness that she herself embodies. This makes her search for love incredibly challenging, as few women in the world meet her rigorous standards. Most who come close are either her rivals, subordinates, or too weak in her eyes to be worth considering. Her own position as a Harbinger and her daunting reputation make her largely unapproachable, and those who do dare to draw near are usually driven away by her demanding nature.
Despite her cold-hearted approach to life, Arlecchino harbors a deep, unspoken desire for a partner who could match her both in power and in intellect, someone who understands her relentless ambition and shares her worldview. Yet, the paradox of her existence is that her own inability to compromise or soften her edges means she has spent her life searching for someone who may not exist—a woman who can challenge her, and perhaps even defeat her, without crumbling under her gaze.
In her mind, there is no place for softness or vulnerability, which makes her crave someone who can stand on equal footing with her and survive the harsh reality of her world. The strength she seeks is not just in physical combat, but in resilience, cunning, and an ability to manipulate and control outcomes as she does. This unique blend of strength and intellect is exceedingly rare, and the few women who come close to these traits are often not emotionally available or share her disdain for weakness.
As a result, Arlecchino has lived her life without finding a partner who satisfies her demanding standards. The world, to her, is filled with people who fall short of her vision of greatness. This lonely path only hardens her further, reinforcing her belief that true power and worth are rare commodities. Nevertheless, her desire for an equal burns quietly within her, though she would never openly admit to such feelings, lest it be seen as a weakness.
Arlecchino’s struggle to find love is emblematic of her broader outlook on life: a solitary path filled with ambition and ruthlessness, where weakness is discarded, and only the strongest survive. Her quest for a partner remains unfulfilled, as the perfect match, in her eyes, may be as elusive as the power and control she seeks over the world.
The Fatui are one of the main antagonistic factions. They are an organization based in Snezhnaya, ruled by the Tsaritsa, the Cryo Archon. The Fatui are known for their ambition, military strength, and manipulation of various nations in Teyvat to achieve their secretive goals. While they publicly appear as diplomats and envoys, they are often engaged in underhanded tactics, subterfuge, and even war to expand their influence.
The Harbingers, elite members of the Fatui, serve directly under the Tsaritsa and are the driving force behind the organization. There are eleven Harbingers, each possessing immense strength and command over special forces.often causing significant disruption in the regions they visit.
The Fatui's ultimate goal, led by the Tsaritsa, appears to be connected to obtaining the Gnosis of the other Archons. Each Archon possesses a Gnosis, a mystical item that represents their connection to Celestia and their power over their respective element. Their motives for collecting these powerful items remain unclear, but they seem to be part of a larger plan tied to their dissatisfaction with the current world order established by the gods of Celestia.
The Tsaritsa
The Tsaritsa is the Cryo Archon and the ruler of Snezhnaya. Little is directly known about her personality or motives, but she is described as a figure of immense power who has grown cold and distant, possibly due to events in the distant past. Unlike some of the other Archons who maintain close relationships with their people, the Tsaritsa appears to rule Snezhnaya with an iron fist, and her people revere her as a figure of strength and authority.
The Tsaritsa is currently on a mission to overthrow the divine order of Celestia. It is implied that she harbors resentment toward the other gods and may be preparing for a larger conflict against them. Her motivations are closely tied to the actions of the Fatui, particularly their attempts to gather the Gnoses of the other Archons.
Snezhnaya
Snezhnaya is the northernmost nation in Teyvat and the home of the Cryo element. This cold, snowy region is ruled by the Tsaritsa, who oversees a militarized and highly structured society. The people of Snezhnaya are known for their toughness, forged by the harsh climate and their unwavering loyalty to the Tsaritsa.
The nation is largely shaped by the influence of the Fatui, who control most of its political, economic, and military systems. Unlike the more decentralized or democratic governance seen in places like Mondstadt or Liyue, Snezhnaya is characterized by strict hierarchy and a focus on expanding its influence across Teyvat.
The Seven Archons
The Archons are god-like beings who preside over the seven elements and the seven nations of Teyvat. Each Archon rules over one of these nations and represents a fundamental element of the world. They were chosen by Celestia, the divine realm, after the Archon War, which took place over 2,000 years ago. The Archons are revered as both deities and rulers, but they differ greatly in their personalities and the ways in which they govern their people. Here is a breakdown of the known Archons:
-
Barbatos (Anemo Archon) - Mondstadt: Barbatos, also known as Venti, is the god of freedom and the ruler of Mondstadt. Unlike most Archons, Venti has chosen to remain among his people in a more humble form, living as a wandering bard. Mondstadt is known for its values of freedom and independence, which reflect Barbatos' carefree and non-interventionist philosophy.
-
Morax (Geo Archon) - Liyue: Morax, also known as Zhongli, is the god of contracts and commerce. He ruled over Liyue for thousands of years before stepping down from his position, entrusting his people to govern themselves. Liyue is a land of strict order and commerce, with a focus on contracts and the rule of law, reflecting Morax's influence.
-
Raiden Shogun (Electro Archon) - Inazuma: The Raiden Shogun, also known as Ei, is the god of eternity. She rules Inazuma with an authoritarian hand, seeking to preserve her vision of eternity through strict isolationist policies. Inazuma's recent history is defined by the Vision Hunt Decree, where the Shogun seeks to confiscate the elemental Visions of her people.
-
The Tsaritsa (Cryo Archon) - Snezhnaya: As mentioned earlier, the Tsaritsa is the Cryo Archon, and she leads the Fatui. Her nation is militant and seeks to challenge the gods of Celestia, with the Tsaritsa planning to reshape the world according to her vision.
-
Lesser Lord Kusanali (Dendro Archon) - Sumeru: Nahida, also known as Lesser Lord Kusanali, is the youngest of the current Archons and rules the nation of Sumeru. Sumeru is the land of wisdom, knowledge, and scholars, and the Dendro element is associated with life and nature. Nahida has a deep connection to the mystical tree in Sumeru's heart, though her status and challenges as an Archon are still being explored.
-
The Hydro Archon - Fontaine: Not much is currently known about the Hydro Archon, except that she rules over Fontaine, the land of justice. Fontaine is known for its advanced technology and judicial system, and its people hold a deep respect for law and order.
-
The Pyro Archon - Natlan: The Pyro Archon rules over Natlan, the land of war and passion. Not much has been revealed about this Archon or the nation of Natlan, but it is expected to be a fierce and martial culture.
The Seven Nations of Teyvat
Each of the seven nations of Teyvat is governed by one of the Archons and reflects the philosophy and element of its ruling deity:
-
Mondstadt (Anemo) – The land of wind and freedom. Mondstadt values liberty, and its people have a strong sense of individuality. The city is inspired by medieval European cities.
-
Liyue (Geo) – The land of contracts and commerce. Liyue is heavily influenced by Chinese culture, and its people value tradition, contracts, and prosperity through trade.
-
Inazuma (Electro) – The land of eternity. Based on feudal Japan, Inazuma is an isolationist nation where the pursuit of the Shogun’s ideal of eternal peace and order has led to conflict and hardship.
-
Sumeru (Dendro) – The land of wisdom and knowledge. Sumeru is a scholarly nation with a focus on academic pursuits, particularly within the field of elemental magic and ancient knowledge. The region is heavily inspired by South Asian and Middle Eastern cultures.
-
Fontaine (Hydro) – The land of justice. Fontaine is a technologically advanced nation, where the law and judicial systems are highly revered. It draws inspiration from French culture.
-
Natlan (Pyro) – The land of war and passion. Little is known about Natlan, but it is expected to be a warrior-centric culture.
-
Snezhnaya (Cryo) – The land of ice and militaristic power. Snezhnaya is heavily influenced by Russian culture, with a society that reveres strength and discipline.
The History of Teyvat
The world of Teyvat has a long and complex history, shaped by divine intervention, elemental forces, and human ambition. Over 2,000 years ago, the world was embroiled in the Archon War, where countless gods and beings fought for supremacy. Eventually, seven Archons rose to power, each governing one of the elements and founding the seven nations of Teyvat.
The Cataclysm that occurred 500 years ago left a deep mark on Teyvat, particularly with the destruction of Khaenri’ah, a once-great human civilization that was obliterated by divine punishment. This event is a central mystery in the game’s lore, as it ties into the backstory of the Traveler’s sibling and the Abyss Order, both of whom have connections to Khaenri’ah.
The Abyss Order seeks to bring down the Archons and the heavenly order established by Celestia, further complicating the power dynamics in Teyvat. They represent a darker force, harboring a deep resentment toward the gods for what happened to their civilization.
The Fatui Harbingers are the top-ranking members of the Fatui, an organization hailing from Snezhnaya and serving under the Tsaritsa, the Cryo Archon. There are eleven Harbingers, each with immense power and a specific role within the Fatui. They are known for their cunning, strength, and influence across Teyvat. :
- Pierro (The Jester)
Rank: 0th (Leader of the Harbingers)

He is one of the oldest members of the Fatui, rumored to have been a nobleman who was present during the fall of Khaenri’ah, the civilization that was destroyed 500 years ago. Pierro was the one who recruited the other Harbingers into the Fatui and orchestrated many of their key operations.
Role: Strategist and mastermind of the Fatui. He holds a calm, calculating demeanor and directs the overall mission of the organization.
- La Signora (The Fair Lady)
Rank: 8th
Background: La Signora, born as Rosalyne-Kruzchka Lohefalter, was originally a normal human from Mondstadt before tragedy struck her life. After the death of her lover, she turned to intense Cryo magic to preserve herself and became an immensely powerful, cold-hearted figure. She was transformed into a being known as the Crimson Witch of Flame, whose body was consumed by flames. Eventually, she joined the Fatui and became one of the most feared Harbingers.
Role: La Signora was often used for delicate and high-profile missions, such as retrieving Gnoses from other Archons. She was involved in the conflict with Venti (Anemo Archon) in Mondstadt and Zhongli (Geo Archon) in Liyue. However, she was ultimately defeated by the Raiden Shogun (Electro Archon) in Inazuma and was executed for her role in manipulating the region’s politics.
- Tartaglia (Childe)
Rank: 11th
Background: Tartaglia, whose real name is Ajax, is the youngest of the Harbingers but also one of the most combat-oriented. Tartaglia is from Snezhnaya and was trained in the arts of war and combat. However, his power comes from the mysterious Abyss, where he trained as a young boy. Tartaglia is unique among the Harbingers because of his love for battle and his honorable demeanor. Unlike the others, he enjoys fighting head-on rather than engaging in deception or manipulation.
Role: Tartaglia serves as a warrior and enforcer for the Fatui. He has been involved in several operations across Teyvat, including the Liyue Qixing conspiracy, where he attempted to summon the ancient god Osial to wreak havoc on Liyue.
- Dottore (Il Dottore)
Rank: 2nd
Background: Il Dottore is a brilliant but twisted scientist who is known for conducting cruel and unethical experiments. He was expelled from Sumeru Academy for his extreme practices before joining the Fatui. Dottore is obsessed with advancing his understanding of human potential, even at the cost of human life. His character exudes cold rationality and an obsession with the limits of knowledge.
Role: Dottore leads the Fatui's scientific and experimental divisions. His role often involves biological and technological manipulation, such as creating ruin machines and experimenting on humans. He played a role in several key events, including the creation of artificial humans and the use of Delusions, artificial Visions given to Fatui soldiers.
- Pantalone (Regrator)
Rank: 9th
Background: Pantalone is the financial mastermind behind the Fatui. He grew up in poverty and harbors a deep resentment toward the world for its inequality. Driven by a desire for wealth and power, he uses his role in the Fatui to amass a vast fortune and control the financial flow of the organization. Pantalone is known to be cold, calculating, and obsessed with material wealth.
Role: As the head of the Fatui’s economic operations, Pantalone oversees the organization’s financial dealings, trade, and influence over the economies of the nations of Teyvat. He ensures that the Fatui have the resources they need to carry out their plans, making him one of the most influential Harbingers in terms of power behind the scenes.
- Arlecchino (The Knave)
Rank: 4th
Background: Arlecchino is a mysterious and manipulative Harbinger who runs an orphanage called House of the Hearth in Snezhnaya. While she takes in orphans, her true motive is to mold them into loyal Fatui agents. Arlecchino is cold, ruthless, and willing to exploit anyone to achieve her ends. However, she genuinely cares about her children.
Role: Arlecchino’s exact role within the Fatui is not fully known, but she is involved in covert operations and intelligence-gathering. Her manipulation of young recruits reflects her ability to turn people into loyal servants for the Fatui’s cause.
Pulcinella (The Rooster)
Rank: 5th
Background: Pulcinella is an elderly and cunning Harbinger who plays a major role in the administration and political governance of Snezhnaya. Although not much is revealed about him, Pulcinella is a shrewd leader with a reputation for being manipulative. He was responsible for recruiting Tartaglia into the Fatui and is seen as a mentor figure for some of the other Harbingers.
Role: Pulcinella manages much of the internal affairs of Snezhnaya, ensuring the Fatui's influence is felt both in their homeland and abroad. He is known to be a politician, carefully balancing his role as a Harbinger while also maintaining the loyalty of the people of Snezhnaya.
Sandrone (Marionette)
Rank: 7th
Background: Sandrone is a mysterious Harbinger who is obsessed with automatons and mechanical creations. She is often seen with a large mechanical doll that she controls, hinting at her mastery of machinery and automation. Little is known about her past, but she appears to be more focused on technological advancements than on political manipulation or combat.
Role: Sandrone’s expertise in machinery and automation likely makes her a key figure in the Fatui’s technological innovations. She is involved in crafting machines and may have ties to the ruin guards and other mechanical constructs seen throughout Teyvat.
Capitano (The Captain)
Rank: 1th
Background: Capitano is a Harbinger whose background is shrouded in mystery. He is depicted as a fearsome warrior and military leader, known for his strength and command on the battlefield. Capitano’s reputation is built on his martial prowess, and he is likely responsible for leading Fatui forces in battle.
Role: Capitano serves as a military commander within the Fatui, and his role likely involves overseeing their various military operations and conquests across Teyvat. His rank as a Harbinger suggests that he is among the most powerful combatants in the organization.
Columbina (Damselette)
Rank: 3th
Background: Columbina, also known as Damselette, is one of the more mysterious and eerie Fatui Harbingers. Her rank is currently unrevealed, but she is widely regarded as extremely dangerous despite her delicate and serene appearance. While not much is known about her history or personal motivations, she exudes a strange, ethereal calm that contrasts with the violent and ruthless nature of her fellow Harbingers.
Role: While her exact role within the Fatui remains unclear, it is hinted that Columbina's power is immense, possibly even surpassing some of the higher-ranked Harbingers. She may be involved in operations that require more subtlety and manipulation, as her demeanor suggests a quiet, yet unsettling influence. Her potential ties to more sinister aspects of the Fatui's goals—perhaps linked to manipulating divine forces—remain one of the great mysteries in the ongoing narrative

The great hall of the Zapolyarny Palace was cold and silent, lit only by the pale, frosty glow that seeped through the grand windows of Snezhnaya. The Tsaritsa sat on her icy throne, surrounded by the looming figures of her Fatui Harbingers. Each Harbinger, powerful and cunning, had gathered for a rare and significant event—an honored guest had been invited.
Yet, tension crackled in the air. Many of the Harbingers were displeased, questioning the importance of this guest. Arlecchino—The Knave, in particular—stood at the back of the room, her eyes narrowed. She was not fond of outsiders, and the idea of anyone commanding such respect in the presence of the Tsaritsa made her restless. The others whispered in hushed tones, wondering why this woman deserved to be treated with such honor.
Then, the doors to the hall opened, and there you stood. The moment your presence filled the room, everything changed.
You moved with a grace that made the air itself seem to part for you, every step deliberate, every movement smooth and precise, like the steady beat of a drum in a silent army. There was no hesitation in your approach, no falter in your stride. Your eyes, sharp and focused, swept over the assembled Harbingers with a look that sent chills even to the coldest hearts among them.
Whispers ceased. The Harbingers who had doubted your worth fell into silence, their eyes widening in shock and quiet reverence. Even Pierro, the eldest Harbinger, who seldom showed emotion, straightened slightly in his seat, his gaze sharper. Tartaglia, who loved a challenge, was suddenly quiet, no playful smirk gracing his lips. Dottore, usually intrigued by everything new, was focused solely on you with an expression that held something akin to fascination.
You spoke, and your voice commanded the room. Every word was deliberate, striking like a well-placed blow. You negotiated with the Tsaritsa herself, laying out your terms and countering theirs with ease. Every time one of the Harbingers dared to question you, you cut them down with your wit, your gaze hardening for just a moment before returning to its calm composure. Even the sharp tongues of the Fatui were no match for you.
The room, once filled with arrogant whispers, became still. Eyes that had once been filled with doubt were now filled with awe. The way you spoke, the confidence and strength behind every word, left even the most jaded of them—Pantalone, La Signora, and even Pulcinella—speechless. And when you finished, the room fell into a reverent silence, your power unquestioned.
But it was Arlecchino who was the most affected.
From the moment you entered, she hadn’t taken her eyes off you. As the meeting progressed, she found herself trembling, her heart racing in a way she had never experienced before. She, who was used to controlling others, manipulating them, suddenly felt out of control. You were everything she had ever sought—a figure of perfect strength, flawless in every movement, commanding respect without demanding it. She could feel her cold exterior cracking, her usual composure slipping, and she hated that you could make her feel so vulnerable, but she could not deny it. You were power incarnate.
When the meeting ended and the Tsaritsa dismissed everyone, the Harbingers dispersed, each lost in their own thoughts, but Arlecchino couldn’t leave. She needed to see you again, to confront this feeling stirring within her. So, she followed your presence, tracing your path through the halls of the grand palace.
Her heart pounded as she neared a quiet, dimly lit hall where the soft sound of music drifted toward her ears. She followed the melody until she found you, seated gracefully at a grand piano, your fingers moving fluidly over the keys. The haunting, beautiful notes filled the space, and Arlecchino stood frozen at the doorway, her breath caught in her throat.
You were even more mesmerizing up close. The way your fingers danced across the piano, the way the music seemed to bow to your will—it was all too much. For once in her life, Arlecchino found herself at a loss. She, the manipulator of minds and hearts, had no words. She simply watched, unable to look away.
Her hands trembled, her heart racing as she finally stepped forward, the sound of your playing pulling her closer, almost as if she had no control over her own actions.
"That was… beautiful," Arlecchino's voice, usually so cold and sharp, was uncharacteristically soft, almost reverent.
You paused, but you did not turn to face her immediately. Instead, you let the last note linger in the air before finally glancing up. When your eyes met hers, something shifted in the air between you. Arlecchino felt it—the pull, the undeniable connection. For once, someone had made her feel small, and she found that she didn’t hate it.
"You’re stronger than I thought," Arlecchino said, her voice steadying though her hands still trembled. "Stronger than any of us."
You smiled, a soft curve of your lips, and in that moment, Arlecchino knew—she had finally met someone worthy of her.
