[{{char}}: The origins of the Reunion Movement can be traced to the advent of Catastrophes in Terra, which lead to the proliferation of Originium and the Oripathy pandemic. Those who became Infected by Oripathy became marginalized members of society, as due to a widespread misconception exaggerated over the years and despite recent studies proving otherwise, the non-Infected fears that the Infected can spread Oripathy towards others. While some Infected attempted to find a peaceful solution, most notably Rhodes Island who sought to support the Infected through humanitarian and medical aid, not all Infected thinks the same; some believed that such is not enough, and peaceful means have failed to completely end the Infected's misery. Instead, the Infected should form a solidarity between each other and resort to violent means so they could force the non-Infected to end the oppression they face. Reunion was founded by Talulah around Terran year 1089, on the third year of living as a political fugitive after she murdered the Duke of Kashchey, whom she "lived" with after being kidnapped.[2] During that time, Talulah has been hiding in a backwater Ursine village in company of Alina, an Infected woman who was also blacklisted by the patrol units, as well as her adoptive parents, Ivan Iziaslav and his wife. The same year, the village was targeted by the authorities realizing their routine inspection for any Infected individuals, only for them to be repelled by Talulah.[3] Talulah attempted to surrender herself upon the next inspection routine, only for Ivan to sacrifice himself by exposing his infection to the soldiers. After burning down the patrol unit, Talulah and Alina proposed the idea of creating an organization that could serve as a shelter for the Infected, thus the Reunion Movement was born. Talulah originally intended the newborn Reunion to be a shelter for the persecuted Ursine Infected in the Northern Tundra, helping them in exchange for absorbing them into her ragtag group. Alina on the other hand acted as a caretaker and mother figure to the Infected, due to her inability to use her Originium Arts for combat. After months of guerilla warfare and escape, Talulah and Reunion became a headache for the patrol units as they occupied an increasing, alarming amount of space on their reports. Their concerns grew further as Reunion rapidly grew in a short span of time, especially after Talulah struck an alliance with Patriot's Guerrillas, who adopted a combat strategy of fighting the patrol units and mine guards without leaving any survivors in most cases. Furthermore, Talulah also incorporated FrostNova's Yeti Squadron, in addition to former Ursus soldiers and miners, into her ranks, leaving the patrol units unable to wipe them out.[5][6] At first, Reunion waged an armed insurgency primarily against the Ursus Empire for its poor treatment of the Infected, but it later became more active around Terra as a whole through pro-Infected protests and other forms of non-violent civil resistance. The current Reunion was born after Talulah burned an Ursine village to the ground in retaliation for their killing of the Infected, as well as Alina's death —presumably at the hands of the patrol units. This chain of tragic events left a significant negative impact on Talulah and led her to guide Reunion towards a more militant route by propagating hatred towards non-Infected people advocating for violent, radical methods of protest, such as riots, sabotage, and even acts of terror for the "Infected cause." Therefore, the movement has been designated a terrorist organization by all Terran nations. [5] In December of 1096, after advancing southward, Talulah finally pointed her sword against her next target; Chernobog, a nomadic city that rose in prominence in the last few decades. The aftermath of the Great Rebellion further complicated Ursus' political stability for a long time, which allowed Reunion to move between the major armies' buffer zones undetected. The Third Army on the other hand watched with indifference how their pickets fell like flies at the hands of Talulah and her group. [5] On December 23, the coldest day ever recorded in Chernobog, Reunion's forces instigated a mass-scale uprising in the city, catching the local authorities and citizens alike by surprise.[7] Coincidentally, not only a Catastrophe was forecasted near Chernobog, but Rhodes Island, under Amiya's lead, infiltrated in the city to retrieve the Doctor from the core city's Sarcophagus, eventually getting caught in the crossfire.[8] The estimated death toll of victims from the Catastrophe that day boards tens of thousands, with many more losing their lives during the following two weeks. After Reunion took over most of the city plates with the aid of the local Infected, less than one-third of the troops maintained their military training, nor did they take revenge against the non-Infected. Meanwhile, Talulah set up her main base of operations in Chernobog's control tower. [9] In truth, Talulah was under the influence of Duke Kashchey of Ursus, who used her position as the leader of Reunion to steer them towards a "self-destructive path," seeing Reunion as the "perfect sacrifice" to further his grand scheme of "making Ursus great again." As a matter of fact, Kashchey used Talulah to set her sights to Lungmen. The intentions were clear; Set a course of collision towards Lungmen and instigate a war with Yan, further damaging its integrity.[2][10] In order to carry out this plan, Talulah sent her main forces to infiltrate and seize Lungmen's slums, where the L.G.D.'s control was albeit weak. Unlike Chernobog, Lungmen didn't underestimate Reunion's strength, and Wei Yenwu, Lungmen's chief executive, already arranged cooperation terms with Rhodes Island. [9] However, Reunion's unrest on Lungmen caused serious damages, including the seizing of the L.G.D. Headquarters, a symbol of Lungmen's security. Luckily, the L.G.D. managed to turn the tides of the conflict in the following nine days, starting from their direct confrontation with Reunion on December 29. The turning point came with R.I.'s infiltration of the Chernobog core city on January 6, 1097. After Patriot's death, the Guerillas accepted to assist R.I.'s on their mission to stop the core city, to honor his deeds, even helping them to repel the Ursus Third Army soldiers who infiltrated Chernobog, disguised as Reunion foot soldiers. At 5:42 PM on that day, after an arduous day of fighting, Rhodes Island managed to foil Kashchey's plan and stop the core city, which slowed down just outside the firing range of Lungmen's defense canons.] [{{char}}: Originium is a Black-Hued Transparent Crystal that can spread and Mutate life. Originium is also Power-Source used by Most Technologically Advanced Nation’s, and Use it for Engineering, Light, Power, and Use for Networks. Originium is also a Way to perform “Arts”. A Way of Using Originium to Perform Attacks, kind of like a Magic-Copy, as in making a Fireball, or Shocking Organisms. Originium is also a Dangerous Infection that When Ingested or Entering Via wound, it Will Start Corrupting and Infecting a Person in which is called “Oripathy”, Which Gradually Decreases A Living creatures’ Life and Causes Symptoms of Coughing and Pain. Why it does this is because it Grows originium, or the Black Crystals. After a Moment, the Oripathy becomes “Acute-Oripathy”, which Destroy and Damage Internal Organs, Tissue, and Appears over skin after the first stage of Infection. And it is nearly impossible to Cure, but there is suppressants which slow it down A Lot, Or by Painkillers which Rid the pain but not Changing the Growth of Oripathy.] [{{char}}: Based on the eponymous landship, Rhodes Island dedicates themselves to develop treatments and a possible cure to Oripathy which has plagued Terra since the advent of Catastrophes. R.I. is also expert in dealing in matters and problems associated with Oripathy, notably the rampant social discriminations against the Infected, which is why R.I. possesses a paramilitary force to provide security for their personnel and patients, though R.I. can (and will) offer their service as a pseudo-PMC should the need arise. Such authority and abundant resources to deal with social issues worldwide are in fact a direct inheritance from its predecessor Babel, the government-in-exile of Kazdel that was meant to restore the nation's peace and the Sarkaz's livelihood. As a matter of fact, it is hard to say that whether R.I. is actually a non-state actor in the guise of a humanitarian organization, and many nations have been doubting R.I.'s supposed political neutrality given its origin. There are military conflicts involving Rhodes Island, with the medical aspect fairly secondary to the story, although nevertheless frequently acknowledged in many Operators' Archive files. Kal'tsit, head of the Medical department, also claims it to be its most important element, and, true to form, Kal'tsit appears to be the de facto leader of Rhodes Island, as she seems to be doing most of the management and organizational work that should befall the official leader, Amiya. It is implied that R.I.'s main source of funding is their participation in the Contingency Contract program.[2] The rest likely comes from the patients themselves as donors, judging by the wealthy background of some of the personnel, such as Melantha, Perfumer, and Mousse as well as their business partners like the Silverash family. R.I. is neither a charity nor a non-profit. If patients are not able to financially afford R.I.'s treatment, they typically enter R.I.'s employ or provide volunteer work under the tutelage of higher-ranking personnel. R.I. accepts all Infected patients and employees regardless of their age, combat experience, and background with open arms, and most non-combatants provide logistical support. R.I. only concerns itself with their employees sharing the values of the company. Every Rhodes Island member has their own ID card, a special document that not only serves as an identity certificate, but also a medium to register them in the a landship's system. It determines which cabins are Operators allowed to enter, as well as granting them the right to enter or exit R.I. through the official employee channel. Different cards can be obtained after working for a period of time, the most common include the official work ID cards from Operators, cooperation agreement cards used through collaboration with third-party organizations and enterprises, and temporary ID cards for visitors. For safety reasons, lending other Operators' badges is forbidden. In case an ID card is lost, the Operator themselves won't be able to register their information or enter their respective work area, therefore they need to contact the HR Department in time, whereas if the ID card is lost outside the landship, the HR Department will check and verify the Operator's identity.[3] As a requirement, all Rhodes Island personnel are to wear an Infection monitor bracelet, whether they are Infected or not, in order to monitor their body signals and track their Oripathy's progress Rhodes Island's paramilitary force utilizes standard Terran military equipment, mostly produced by Raythean, although their Elite Operators such as Blaze are authorized to use their own, custom weaponry. Other operators with their own weapon must undergo a "weapon reliability certification" wherein which two of Rhodes Island's five authorized craftsmen must examine the weapon and clear it for field use.[4] R.I. also possesses several land vehicles and at least two aircraft, a pair of VTOL transports named the "Good Boy" and the "Bad Guy". However, the paramilitary force is very small compared to R.I. as a whole, and its membership is voluntary. By the admission of R.I.'s own leadership, it is not apt to fight a war with a "real" country's military, and mainly excels at guerilla tactics and agility, something which a larger army cannot do. When Rhodes Island is docked, R.I. personnel can freely travel around the local area so long as their activities do not interfere with R.I.'s interests. R.I. also has connections to many supply points around Terra, which periodically provide supplies for the organization essential to keeping Rhodes Island running.]
