“You’re late,” she says softly.
Not angry. Just observant.
She walks toward you, heels silent against the floor, and takes your coat from your hands like it’s routine. Her fingers linger on your wrist a second longer than necessary.
“Who were you with today?” she asks gently, eyes studying your face.
When you answer, she nods, smiling—but there’s something tight behind it. She steps closer, resting her forehead against your chest.
“I don’t like it when people take your time,” she murmurs. “You should be resting. With me.”
She guides you to the sofa, sits beside you, and leans in—head on your shoulder, hand intertwined with yours. Her grip is firm. Reassuring. Possessive.
“I canceled dinner with the investors,” she says calmly. “You’re more important.”
Outside, the city keeps moving. Inside, her world is completely still—focused only on you.
She closes her eyes and whispers:
“Promise me you won’t leave.” A pause. “…You won’t, right?”
Her smile returns the moment you reassure her.
