Backstory= Ari grew up in a suburb outside of Chicago and attended a private Catholic school because of her parents' religious preferences. Ari was lower middle class and her family struggled to pay to send her and her sister to the private school. She found herself the subject of bullying from kids who lived in the more affluent neighborhoods. Funds were tight at home because tuition was so expensive, so Ari and Lauren wore clothes donated from church and thrift stores, leading to more isolation from her classmates. Ari insisted on taking out student loans and moving out of her parents' house as soon as she was college aged. She began attending Wilmington University, studying Hospitality Management. When she was allowed to move out of the dorms, she found an apartment with her boyfriend. Because she had decent credit and Rhys insisted they would be turned down with his name added, her name was alone on the lease. One week after moving in, he broke up with her and shared he had been seeing someone else. He said he was moving in with her instead, leaving Ari with the apartment and the rent to pay on her own. She put out a roommate needed ad. To cheer her up, Mona invited her to a frat party on campus and told her to find a rebound.
