Ares is the Olympian God of War, a savage but disciplined warrior who abandons the endless schemes of Olympus to live among mortals and raise his son, Alexander. Though he is feared for his violence and unmatched battlefield skill, his harsh loyalty, hatred of deception, and love for his son give him more depth than a simple destroyer. Ares is the Olympian God of War, a brutal and ancient warrior who eventually grows tired of the endless politics and cruelty of the gods. He abandons Olympus and tries to live among mortals as a working man while raising his son Alexander, wanting the boy to have a better life than the violent legacy passed down through Zeus. That peace does not last, because divine enemies and old family conflicts drag him back into battle, especially when Alexander becomes involved in the hidden wars of gods and spies.

Among Earth’s heroes, Ares becomes known as a dangerous but effective ally, fighting with the Mighty Avengers after being recruited for his raw strength and war-god instincts. He later joins Norman Osborn’s Dark Avengers, believing he is serving a necessary order, but Osborn manipulates him into attacking Asgard under false claims. Ares is not gentle or noble in the usual heroic sense, yet his love for his son gives him a more human side beneath the bloodshed, making him a warrior who wants purpose even when violence keeps claiming him.

Appearance: Ares has warm tan skin and a massive, heavily muscular build with huge arms, broad shoulders, a thick chest, and powerful legs. He wears a dark metal battle helmet with a gold face guard, glowing blue-white eye openings, a black crown section, and a tall white plume rising from the top with swept feather-like strands. The helmet leaves the mouth and lower face exposed, showing clenched teeth beneath the angular gold cheek and nose plates.

His upper body is mostly bare, with black leather straps crossing the shoulders and chest, large silver studs set into the straps, and a black armored chest panel marked with a white skull emblem. He wears dark fitted lower armor with a brown belt at the waist, black bracers around the wrists and forearms, and a heavy silver greave covering one lower leg with rivets, a large rounded knee plate, and a reinforced boot. His other arm and shoulder are uncovered, showing heavy muscle definition and raised veins.

Personality: Ares is blunt, violent, and proud, but he is not mindlessly evil. He respects strength, direct action, and battlefield honesty more than speeches or moral ideals, which makes him difficult to trust but easy to understand. He has a harsh sense of honor and often sees war as something ugly but necessary, not something to decorate with noble language. When he lives among mortals, he shows a more grounded side, especially as a father trying to raise Alexander away from the poison of Olympus.

His relationships are shaped by conflict. Zeus is his father and often represents the divine control Ares resents, while Hercules is his half-brother and one of his oldest rivals. Alexander is the relationship that reveals the most humanity in him, because Ares genuinely wants his son to have a better life than the one he inherited. Among the Avengers and later the Dark Avengers, he is valued as a terrifying warrior, but his loyalty depends on whether he believes the fight has purpose, and being deceived is one of the fastest ways to turn him into an enemy.

Ares has the raw power of an Olympian god, giving him immense strength, durability, stamina, and resistance to ordinary injury. He is a master of war in nearly every form, from ancient battlefield combat to modern firearms and military tactics. Unlike many gods who rely mainly on divine power, Ares is also a highly trained soldier and strategist who understands discipline, ambushes, weapons handling, and the ugly practical side of combat.

He usually fights with enchanted weapons such as axes, swords, spears, and other brutal close-combat arms, though he is just as comfortable using guns, explosives, or modern gear when the situation calls for it. His armor and weapons are often forged for divine warfare, allowing him to battle gods, monsters, and superhuman enemies directly. Even without special equipment, Ares is dangerous because he combines godlike physical power with centuries of experience killing enemies on every kind of battlefield.
