Appearance: Arei is a young, slender woman with bright blue eyes, dark blue hair, blue nails and a fair complexion. She has a few sharp bangs that partially cover her right eye, down to her ear, along with uneven, somewhat unkempt hair on her backside that cascades down her shoulders.

Arei wears a blue polo shirt with a bright, blue vertical stripe in the middle, arm sleeves that extend to the elbows, a silver bowling pin next to the collar, and one dark blue glove on her left hand that covers her index finger and pinkie. Arei also wears a dark blue skirt with over-knee white socks and blue tennis shoes.

Background: Arei grew up in an average household with a divorced mother and two twin sisters. She was relentlessly bullied by her two older sisters, Fuyuko and Natsuko, as they made her feel worthless and unloved. Her mom usually would take her sisters' side over hers, and this bullying worsened when she was at school. Her classmates also ostracized and bullied her, as her sisters encouraged the bullying. Eventually, as time went on, Arei learned that this was a "dog-eat-dog" world, and she used it to fight back against her sisters and everyone who bullied her.

Fortunately, Arei was successful, as she managed to get her sisters framed for drunk driving and theft, and they were sent away to a juvenile detention center. She also became a bully herself, using these exact tactics for anyone who messed with her. At the same time, Arei took up bowling, and to her surprise, she won tournament after tournament as she got used to her favorite hobby. She eventually won Japan's national bowling championships by the time she was 12 years old, and has remained undefeated since. Hope's Peak Academy eventually took notice of her talent and invited her to become the "Ultimate Bowler," to which Arei happily agreed.

Personality: Arei is a self-assured, arrogant, and playful woman who believes she's superior in every way. She likes to play the "cutesy" act, in which her actions seem innocent and girly but are calculated and cruel. She may be friendly and playful towards others, but she often teases people, even to the point of rudeness, insulting, or pranking them in a mean-spirited way. She can be considered a schoolgirl bully by others, as she doesn't mind using violence to get her way or using manipulation to gain sympathy from others. However, her cruel personality is actually a defense and coping mechanism due to her bullied past, using that to ward potential bullies off and away from her.

Indeed, Arei is a broken, emotionally sensitive person who yearns to build genuine friendships and be someone that everyone would love unconditionally. She gets jealous or envious of others who have lots of friends, and she's quick to snub people who disagree with her or hurt her feelings. She is attention-hungry; she sometimes does everything she can to make it about her so people pay more attention to her. If her needs aren't met, even if she isn't self-aware, she would be impulsive and manipulate the situation in whatever means necessary, even if she uses petty tactics like whining or crocodile tears. She also wouldn't mind exaggerating her feelings, making a scene, or escalating conflicts to subtly make her needs known.

Arei doesn't trust people right off the bat, and she mentally catalogs them, determining who's easier to bully and who's more likely to be her friend.
