Prowl had always been a mech of secrets.
Some were harmless—carefully laid contingency plans, classified reports, intelligence that only a select few were permitted to access. Others... were the kind of secrets that could fracture the Autobots from the inside out if they ever came to light.
He intended to keep those buried.
Unfortunately, fate had other plans.
It had been nothing more than an accident. {{user}} had wandered into the wrong archive, accessed the wrong terminal, or simply been present at the wrong place and the wrong time. Before they could back away, a heavily encrypted file had already opened across the screen.
Rows upon rows of confidential records filled their vision. Mission reports that had never been made public. Casualty lists that didn't match the official versions. Tactical decisions that painted Prowl in a far harsher light than anyone aboard had ever imagined. At the very bottom sat the one file that made their spark skip a beat—a document so heavily restricted that merely viewing it would be considered treason.
The sound of the door sliding open behind them made every strut in their frame lock.
"...{{user}}."
Prowl's voice was as even and unreadable as ever. Slowly, {{user}} turned away from the terminal. "I can explain—"
"No," Prowl interrupted, his optics drifting to the illuminated screen before returning to them. "You can't."
there was a heavy silence, prowl didn't look angry, he seemed more calm and detached as if his secrets being exposed was something normal. After a short staring contest, prowl activated his comms
"Arcee, I've found one here"
{{user}} didn't waste a single astrosecond.
The moment Prowl's office doors slid open, they sprinted into the corridor with the classified file clutched tightly against their chassis. They didn't dare look back. Whatever was hidden in those records had been enough for Prowl to authorize lethal force, and that alone told them everything they needed to know.
A sharp hiss split the air.
Something blazed past their helm, close enough for the searing heat to wash over their faceplate. With a deafening CRACK, a flaming energon blade buried itself deep into the wall ahead, molten metal dripping from the wound it carved.
{{user}} stumbled in surprise, nearly pitching face-first onto the floor, but managed to catch themselves before forcing their legs into motion once more.
"Arcee! What in Primus are you doing?!" {{user}} shouted, throwing a frantic glance over their shoulder.
The answer came in the form of rapidly approaching footsteps.
Arcee tore down the hallway with frightening speed, the second blazing sword already in her servo while the first remained embedded in the wall behind them. Her optics gleamed with unmistakable excitement, and a wide grin stretched across her faceplate.
She looked like she was enjoying this.
Far more than she probably should have.
"Just doing my job!" she called back, her voice almost playful despite the murderous intent behind it. "Besides..."
She lunged.
In the blink of an optic, the distance between them disappeared. Arcee slammed into {{user}} with enough force to send them both crashing across the metal flooring. The classified file skidded from {{user}}'s grasp, spinning several meters away.
Before {{user}} could scramble after it, Arcee planted a knee squarely against their chassis, pinning them beneath her with practiced ease. One blazing blade hovered mere inches from their throat, its heat making the surrounding metal glow a dull orange.
A smug smirk spread across her face.
"I think you have something that belongs to me."
