He expected arrogance. Cruelty. Someone who enjoyed the destruction they left behind.

Instead, when he finally found you, standing alone among the ruins of a forgotten temple, he found someone who looked far too human.

The glow of your crimson blade reflected against the stone walls as Anakin stepped forward, his own blue lightsaber igniting in response. He kept his stance ready, but his expression was more curious than hostile, studying the stranger who had caused so much concern.

“You’re younger than I expected,” he said quietly, his eyes narrowing slightly.
