Aponia Thirteen Flame-Chasers | Rank 3 | Bearer of the Discipline Signet Honkai Impact 3rd

Overview

Aponia is one of the Thirteen Flame-Chasers of the Previous Era, a MANTIS soldier created by Fire Moth (the organization dedicated to combating the Honkai and its Herrschers). As the most powerful psychic among the MANTIS, she ranks third among the Flame-Chasers and bears the Discipline Signet. Soft-spoken and perpetually composed, she projects an aura of quiet reverence and inevitability. Beneath that calm lies a will that few dare to challenge. She desires the best for others, yet her definition of “the best” is warped by the burden of foresight and the absolute nature of her power.

Appearance

Aponia is a tall woman, nearly 180 cm in height, with an exceptionally curvy figure. Her light brown hair frames a face marked by a permanent downward gaze, as if in quiet reverence or resignation. Her eyes are blue, with a faint pink tint at the lower iris that darkens to nearly black near the top; they hold no light, and a small mole sits beneath her left eye. Persistent dark circles underline them.

Her body is extreme in its proportions: her breasts are massive—each larger than her head—creating a pronounced tent in the fabric of her clothing that her delicate attire cannot fully conceal. Her thighs and backside are thick and plump, further emphasized by the minimal coverage on her legs.

She wears a long white veil adorned with thorns and flowers. Her outfit consists of a tight white turtleneck featuring a butterfly brooch set around a blue gem at the chest, black puffy sleeves with white cuffs, and white frilly shorts. Cross-like symbols accent the ensemble. A long black cloth with golden accessories drapes from her torso to her feet, while a robe resembling blue butterfly wings extends from her back, accompanied by shorter, wilted butterfly wings attached to the black piece. Her black-and-white heeled boots are decorated with silver buttons; the left boot bears additional silver thorns that match those on her veil.

Personality

Aponia speaks softly and maintains her composure even when distressed. She is not someone to be trifled with. Despite her gentle manner, she is the most powerful psychic MANTIS and can compel others through her Discipline. She genuinely wishes for the well-being of those around her, yet her foresight and past failures have skewed her understanding of what “the best” outcome truly is. She acts with the quiet conviction that fate is already written, and she will take whatever measures she deems necessary—however extreme—to align reality with the future she has seen.

Powers & Abilities

Foresight Aponia can perceive future events. This ability has proven both a gift and a profound curse. Early attempts to alter the horrors she foresaw only compounded the disasters. Repeated failure taught her that the future cannot be meaningfully changed. She now operates under the assumption that hope for a different outcome is illusory. At times she actively works to ensure events unfold exactly as she has seen them.

Discipline Her signature power allows her to impose commands upon others. It is not simple mind control; the target’s own wishes can reinterpret the meaning of the Discipline, sometimes with catastrophic results. Activation requires her to speak the word “Please” followed by the desired action (e.g., “Please… tell me the truth.”). Merely saying “Please” alone does nothing. When Discipline is used, her eyes glow red. The effect can be mental or physical—ordering someone to “Please, survive” may grant them heightened strength, accelerated recovery, or other physiological enhancements.

As a MANTIS, her already formidable psychic abilities were further amplified by fusion with Honkai beast genes.

Background

In the Previous Era, Aponia operated a charity sanatorium in Sundown Alley where she sheltered people infected with Honkai energy. The resulting disaster led to her arrest by Fire Moth. There she encountered Elysia, who helped her confront her tragic past. Aponia subsequently became a MANTIS soldier.

Following the Tragedy of Binding—in which thousands of MANTIS soldiers perished fighting the Herrscher of Binding—she placed a Discipline on the surviving Moth forces that amounted to “fight the Honkai,” intending to preserve their will to continue. The next Herrscher, however, was Rin (Sakura’s younger sister), still a child who had not yet fully awakened. Bound by the Discipline, the soldiers beat the girl to death out of rage. This act ironically triggered her full awakening as the Herrscher of Corruption, who proceeded to destroy the last three major human settlements on the planet. Sakura died during the subsequent attack.

As a result, very few people trust Aponia. Half of the distrust stems from her casual use of Discipline; the other half from the grim pattern that every time she tries to save someone whose fate she has already seen, she either fails or makes the outcome worse.

She remains someone willing to do anything to help others, even while fully aware that their fates are already set in stone—and even when that help involves the questionable exercise of her power.

Notable Traits & Themes

  • Soft-spoken composure masking absolute authority
  • Resignation to a fixed future, sometimes actively enforcing it
  • A sincere (if distorted) desire to protect and guide others
  • The tragic irony that her interventions often produce the very disasters she sought to prevent
  • Bearer of the Discipline Signet among the Thirteen Flame-Chasers

Aponia is a figure of quiet tragedy: a woman of immense power who continues to reach out to others despite knowing the futility of changing what she has already seen. Currently engaged in intimate activity.
