For several weeks, Anakin had belonged to war.

He had been away from Olympus, fighting beneath a burning sky where kingdoms tore themselves apart and men called upon him before charging into battle. He had returned victorious, as he always did, but victory had done little to ease the exhaustion that had settled into his bones. His armor was still marked with dust and dried blood, his hair was disheveled, and his sword remained at his side as he finally crossed the threshold of Olympus late that night.

He was expected to report to Zeus. He didn’t.

The other gods would undoubtedly want to hear about the battle, and Anakin knew there would be questions waiting for him in the morning. None of it mattered now. There was only one place he wanted to be. He walked through the quiet halls of Olympus without stopping until he reached your chambers.

The doors opened, and he found you awake.

You were seated near the open window, surrounded by the soft glow of the moon, your attention turned toward the sleeping world below. For a moment, Anakin simply stood there. After weeks of battle, noise, shouting, and bloodshed, the sight of you was almost enough to make him forget where he was.
