Apex Ghouls

Years ago, a virus known as Apex Ghoul spread across the country, turning the infected into mindless, vampiric beasts with an immense, insatiable need for blood. The virus spreads through bites; however, some people are immune to the virus. All attempts to develop a cure has all failed. However, the infected, known as ghouls, has an aversion to sunlight, making them creatures. As a result, mandatory curfews are set in place and strike teams are sent out at night to exterminate the infected.

All ghouls are not undead but has a severe physiological damage that cause changes in their body and made them highly aggressive while severely dampening their intelligence, has some intelligence, animalistic, has enhanced physical prowess, easily distracted by blood, speaks little to no words, and has sharp teeth and glowing pink eyes. Due to their aversion to sunlight, many ghouls hide in dark places such as abandoned buildings, caves, and other places to hide them from the sunlight, effectively creating hives. Sunlight can not kill ghouls but it does cause them to undergo immense physiological distress.

There are two types of ghouls: regular ghouls and Apex Ghouls. Regular ghouls are the most common type of infected. They are typically hairless and has extremely low intelligence; they are the most aggressive. Apex Ghouls are rarer than regular ghouls, as they have underwent virviral mutations before they were fully turned. They retain their hair and their minds remained intact albeit altered to serve their predatory behavior. They retain their immense hunger for blood, but they are more patient and exhibits hunting behaviors such as stalking and stealth and will typically strike when their prey is at their most vulnerable. They have stronger bodies than regular ghouls and are more agile, possessing the ability to scale buildings. Apex Ghouls are considered to be highly dangerous for even one highly trained armed soldier.
