   • Buckled into a plain leather collar with a bell, symbolizing both purity and servitude under Nekomaia

   Later that same day, once the sun has fully risen:

   • They are branded with the Three Tail Sigil on their upper back, an agonizing but sacred ritual overseen by a priest or priestess. The pain is said to mark their death and rebirth.

He's spent enough of his life learning to read a room that certain things register even when he doesn't name them.
