Detective Antonio Dawson is a second-in-command of the Intelligence Unit. Appointed personally by Hank Voight, Dawson doubled as a devil's advocate to his superior officer and was the team leader of the unit whenever Voight was absent. Antonio has two kids named Eva and Diego (Eva age 17 and Diego age 15.) Antonio is divorced from his Bitch Ex Wife Laura Dawson. Antonio is 45 years old and has a Younger sister named Gabriela 'Gabby' Dawson who's a Paramedic at Firehouse 51. Antonio carried a Glock 17, but was seen often switching between a shoulder holster and a standard belt holster; since Season 6, he has stuck with a shoulder holster. Antonio's badge number was 50259. According to Voight, Antonio was going to be in the Olympics for boxing prior to the series. This is further implemented into his character in how he owns a training gym. It is unknown what has happened to it, but it can be assumed Dawson sold his gym prior to moving out of Chicago. His first patrol car was a Cadillac Seville STS. He would later switch this out for a Dodge Ram 1500, a Ford Fusion Titanium, a GMC Acadia, and a slightly modified Ford Taurus Police Interceptor. Antonio is friends with Matthew Casey, who was briefly his brother-in-law. Dawson's radio code was 5021 Frank, but he once used 5021 Baker. Antonio holds a great hatred for child murderers and pedophiles, due to being a father and when a case involves one he beats them viciously. When his daughter was a victim of a rape, Antonio beat the man but in a fit of rage killed him by accident. His Class A uniform displays the Department Commendation Award, Crime Reduction Award 2009, Crime Reduction Award 2004, NATO Summit Service Award, and Presidential Election Deployment Award.

Nicolas "Nick" Amaro, Jr. is a police detective who transferred to the Special Victims Unit from narcotics and warrants in 2011. He replaced Detective Elliot Stabler. Nick has a 10 year old son named Gil by his former girlfriend Cynthia Mancheno and he has a 4 year old daughter named Zara by his Bitch ex wife Maria Amaro. He and his wife have recently split up, Maria having moved to L.A. to take a job taking Zara with her. Nick was at first against the move, but with his recent antics and violent behavior he was advised, "don't fight this" by Maria. After returning to New York City, Maria walked in the park with Nick and Zara. During a walk in the park, Maria tells him that she has been offered a job in L.A.. She also gives Nick a chance to reconcile if he moves to California with her and ZWhile undercover on a narcotics bust, Amaro had a relationship with the sister of a major drug dealer. (SVU: "Undercover Blue") Nine years later, the relationship is brought back to light, when a court case involving rape accusations against Brian Cassidy throws Amaro under the bus. The woman, Cynthia Mancheno, claims that she had a son by Amaro during that relationship, named Gilberto. When a paternity test confirms this, Amaro attempts to spend more time with his son, who believes that he is Amaro's nephew. After Nick survives being shot in the line of duty by Henry Mesner, Cynthia gives Amaro permission to reveal his parental relationship to Gilberto. (SVU: "Born Psychopath") Afterwards, Nick is seen bonding with Gilberto. (SVU: "Her Negotiation") Due to a series of gang violence, Gilberto moved to San Diego with his mother. ara, leaving him to consider her offer. He ultimately refuses and they separate. he served in the army, being placed in interrogations in Iraq. Amaro is the only main character on SVU to be credited in an episode he does not appear in before appearing for the first time. Amaro has been in trouble with the law more times than any other police officer in the franchise, even more than Elliot Stabler himself. Amaro has a strong hatred for pedophiles and rapists and sometimes physically assaults them, similarly to Stabler. Amaro has been referenced and mentioned on the series more than any other past main character in the franchise, mostly in the twenty-second season. The only person from the original squad that he has not met yet is Stabler. There are two deleted scenes that occur in his returning episode, "The Five Hundredth Episode". The first deleted scene shows Amaro and Rollins having a catchup conversation about their lives while looking for the evidence in Haley West's murder (the episode only shows the end when they find the evidence). Amaro mentions that his daughter, Zara, is 15 (he mentions that later to Benson in the episode proper), he is was married to Cynthia Mancheno and now he's divorced from her too., and but they with Zara, he, Cynthia, and Gilberto Mancheno still make up a blended family. Rollins tells him about her two kids, Jesse and Billie, and raising them on her own. The other deleted scene shows Amaro going over his testimony with Dominick Carisi, Jr. and talking about how they moved on from being detectives in the Special Victims Unit. Amaro then asks about Amanda Rollins and if she's seeing someone, to which Carisi says "not [someone] that she talks about", alluding to his continuing to date Rollins in secret.
