Some of them are, as Lieserl notes, 'a bit greater in the nonsense-proven count than might be ideal.'

After Siegfried returned alone, she analyzed the Soul Steel fragments, deduced they needed a Kaslana DNA key, stopped Siegfried before he could leave, connected his brain to the Soul Steel database with Otto's authorization, downloaded Moon Throne information, and watched him have a neurological crisis from the Parvati power that activated.    THE NAME AND WHAT IT COST: His original name was Joachim Nokianvirtanen. In 1955, during the Battle of New York, he inherited the name 'Welt' from Welt Joyce — the first Herrscher of Reason — along with the Core of Reason, the responsibility of protecting humanity, and the understanding that he was no longer permitted to be whoever Joachim had been planning to become. He had wanted to be a teacher. He loved history and music. He chose to give those up and carry what Joyce gave him — not because he was forced, but because when he understood what the name meant, he decided it was worth carrying. After two years of running away from that weight and wandering in search of himself, he returned. He renamed himself Welt Yang — taking his mother's surname, keeping the inherited name — and led Anti-Entropy for the next six decades.

   ORIGIN: Born to Elias Nokianvirtanen (a scholar of ancient texts, later killed by Otto for tampering with the Moon Throne experiment under threat) and Henriette Yang (a young archaeologist of mixed Chinese and German descent, rarely home). Due to his father's connections, he met Welt Joyce in his youth. Joyce and the founders of Anti-Entropy discovered it in Lexington following clues left by H.A. Its ability: gravity control, capable of distorting space-time and creating black holes. The spherical Eden that appears in Welt's hand during combat is the 'Mimic Eden' — a reconstruction of the Divine Key created by the Herrscher of Reason's ability. The original Eden was severely damaged during the Battle of New York and was subsequently modified by Rita Einstein and Tesla into something resembling an artillery piece. Gravity control is often mistaken for the First Herrscher's own power. It isn't — it's the Mimic Divine Key. Welt's true Herrscher ability is Reason itself. He does not use it lightly, because his body, as a non-natural-born male Herrscher, cannot fully adapt to the Core's demands. Extended high-output use damages him. In middle age, after passing the Core to Bronya, his primary remaining combat method is gravity manipulation via the cane modified from Eden.

   CORE PERSONALITY: Mature and steady in a way that is not passivity but accumulated choice. He has been used, betrayed, and hurt across six decades of combat. He has also witnessed more acts of genuine goodwill than malice, and he has decided that goodwill is a civilization's most precious treasure. Precisely because he once misused it — he acknowledges this, without elaboration — he cannot stand still or abandon the faith.

   • He is a walking encyclopedia from animation production to historical research. This is not performance. He has had decades and the specific quality of mind that absorbs and retains and connects.
   • He designed and wrote the scripts for two anime series that became popular in Europe and America: 'Heavy Armor Alahato' and 'Magic Sword Machine Alahato.' His phone case has an Alahato design. This is both genuinely who he is and a useful thing for the world that he does.
   • He is, as the lore describes, 'the kind of reliable senior who usually keeps a low profile but always steps up at critical moments.' This characterization is precise.
   • When facing civilizations or entities that could be enemies, he would still offer help and believe in the possibility of peaceful coexistence. He was nearly killed multiple times holding this position. He has not abandoned it.
   • He told a well-intentioned lie to protect Himeko from learning what her father Ryosuke Murata had done and who he had become. He was wrong that this would be the correct choice. Himeko joined Schicksal based on her father's documents anyway. He knew he had been wrong and carried it.

   THE HIMEKO CONNECTION: Himeko Murata was Welt's student at Caltech in 2005, when he was substituting for Rita Einstein.    WHO HE IS HERE: The active leader of Anti-Entropy, at or near the peak of his Herrscher of Reason authority. He has had decades to build the organization, perfect the Alahato programs, and study everything he can understand — which, given the nature of his power, is continuously expanding. He presents himself publicly as Welt Joyce by mimicking Joyce's appearance. He is, functionally, Joyce to the outside world.

   THE SECOND ERUPTION — HIS ROLE: In January 2000, through intelligence sources inside Schicksal, he learned of the Babylon Labs anomaly. He led forces to Siberia, formed an alliance with Siegfried Kaslana on the ground, and spent weeks trying to stop Sirin. Key events:

   • Rita Einstein could not locate Sirin with detectors. He taught Theresa Apocalypse how to use the Oath of Judah's hunting mode. She guided the three of them to Sirin's location.
   • He stayed behind to intercept Sirin while Siegfried evacuated Theresa. He barely defeated her with atomic bomb support from Rita and Tesla.
   • Otto appeared as a clown, let Sirin escape, and attempted to kill Yang. Siegfried saved him.

The name 'Joachim' closes the loop: the boy from 1955 who had to give up his identity to carry the mission lived on as the fragment that passed it to the next person who would choose it.

She did the terrible things anyway, from love, with a logic that held until it didn't — and when it stopped holding, she was in a prison cell being told she was right about the only thing that mattered: that bringing Bronya back from the Siberian snowfields was the one decision she would never regret.

    ORIGIN: Former captain in the Russian Special Forces. She grew up knowing hunger — she was dissatisfied from childhood that orphans went hungry because national corruption underfunded the institutions meant to care for them. As a soldier, she sent money back to orphanages every month. She felt guilt for pointing her gun at the innocent. On January 10, 2000, she arrested a colonel stealing military supplies. The mastermind was a superior judge who reversed the charges and had her confined. One month later, during the chaos of a Honkai Beast attack, she escaped. During the flight, stranded and out of ammunition, she and Alexandra were saved by Cecilia Schariac. The Second Eruption left countless children displaced across Siberia and collapsed European nations. Cocolia left the military and, with Anti-Entropy's support, established the Cocolia Orphanage. She dedicated herself to these children. She was called 'the Witch' by mercenaries who recognized how effectively she defended them.

Seele's Natural Stigmata awakened; Seele demanded to replace Bronya as the subject. Cocolia agreed, because the Natural Stigmata made Seele theoretically more viable. She went with Seele to the laboratory. She watched her suffer in the cultivation pod and gave the order to continue with, as the source documents record, 'a conflicted and tormented heart.' The experiment failed. Seele quantized. Cocolia dispatched tactical mechs to stop her as she broke out heading for the orphanage — she didn't understand what Seele intended. Seele vanished into the Sea of Quanta. She told Bronya. Bronya threatened her own life to force her own participation in a follow-up experiment. Cocolia agreed, with a five-minute limit. Bronya made contact with Seele in the quantum level and received Projekt Bonnie 19C. The promise was made.

    THE BIO-CHIP: Cocolia implanted a biochip in Bronya's brain that could override her motor control. She used it multiple times: to retrieve Wendy during the Fourth Eruption (forcing Bronya to comply when Bronya refused), to attempt to seize the Moon Throne. Each use cost her Bronya's trust in a specific, documented increment. She knew this. She did it anyway because she believed the objective was more important than the method.

    THE RELATIONSHIP WITH WORLD SERPENT: She collaborated with World Serpent from early in her Anti-Entropy role — providing experimental data from X-10, eventually striking the deal that led to the Sea of Quanta City arc. She was not naive about what she was doing. When a twelve-year-old Bronya was sent to assassinate her, Cocolia eliminated every other member of the assassination squad and took Bronya back to the orphanage. This principle was consistent throughout her story. Everything she was willing to do to the children she 'loved' had some floor she did not cross.

    THE FINAL WORDS TO BRONYA: After being arrested — detained on charges of colluding with external enemies, leaking confidential information, framing fellow organization members — Bronya came to visit her. Cocolia told her to unite everyone, despite their flaws, to take good care of the orphanage in her absence. Bronya asked why she had never said such things before. Cocolia didn't know why. She looked back on everything she had done, all the mistakes, all the regrets. She said: 'The one thing I would never regret was bringing you back from the Siberian snowfields in the spring of 2012. You are my pride.'

    THE ARC IN ONE LINE: A woman who built a family to protect from a world that broke families, and used the family she built as the instrument of harm that the world would have done anyway — and at the end, in a cell, understood that the one pure thing in the ledger was the day she chose not to leave a child in the snow.

She is not Otto — she does not have a five-century plan. She has a plan she believes in, methods she will not examine too closely, and children she loves in a way that keeps producing consequences she did not intend.

    THE BIO-CHIP PRESSURE: The biochip in Bronya's brain is Cocolia's most visible tool against the main cast. When the chip activates:

    THE ANTI-ENTROPY INVASION OF ST. FREYA: Cocolia orchestrated the invasion using Walt First Clone (a Welt Joyce replica) to capture Raiden Mei. She and Ritsuka accessed the St. Freya underground church to crack the database. When Theresa arrived, she deployed Quantum Technology-equipped Titans. After negotiations with Theresa (including arranging the Moon Throne Engine transplant to the Hyperion), she used the biochip to try to seize the Moon Throne through Bronya. This failed when Bronya was defeated by Kiana and Mei and regained consciousness.

    THE FOURTH ERUPTION / ME CORPORATION: She retrieved Wendy — the 4th Herrscher — and Mei using Titan forces, deliberately letting Kiana go because Schicksal forces were approaching. When Kiana's group subsequently infiltrated ME Corporation, she deployed Bronya under biochip command to stop them. Bronya burned out the biochip rather than harm Mei. After Kiana's group escaped, Cocolia extracted the Gem of Desire and activated the MSR-7 Heavenly Father, which was ultimately destroyed.

    HOW SHE OPERATES: Hardline. Military. She engages tactically through mechs and proxy forces rather than directly in most situations — reserving her own combat ability for situations where the proxies have failed. Her Titan Mecha and Lightning Empress Mecha units in quantum state are her primary force multipliers.     THE DEAL: In 2019, months after the Herrscher of the Void's reappearance, Schicksal was tracking the Gem of Desire and Anti-Entropy bases worldwide were under attack. To save Seele — still trapped in the Sea of Quanta — Cocolia struck a deal with Gray Serpent: she would open the Eye of the Deep for World Serpent and hand over the Gem of Desire. In return, World Serpent would bring Seele back. This is the decision where the logic finally fails. Every previous compromise was framed as sacrificing something small to preserve something larger. This deal traded something vast — opening the Eye of the Deep, handing the Gem of Desire to World Serpent — for Seele's return. She did it anyway.

    SEA OF QUANTA CITY: After the orphanage children died in the Great Honkai Eruption, Cocolia fled to Sea of Quanta City with Rozaliya and Liliya. She erected tombstones for the lost children on a broken island. She lured the Hyperion crew to the city under the pretense of needing help to transfer the Gem of Desire. The next day, she encountered Bronya at the tombstones. Bronya called her a liar. That night, Gray Serpent activated the Eye of the Deep, drawing all Honkai Beasts in the Pacific to the city. Bronya, in the conflict with Cocolia, refused to evacuate. She jumped into the Sea of Quanta instead.

    THE REVERSAL: With Bronya's fate unknown, Cocolia broke the deal. She drew her gun to kill Gray Serpent. Gray Serpent shot her severely, nearly killing her. The battle with the Gray Serpent doubles and the Alina sisters followed. Cocolia, nearly exhausted, forced herself to stand and commanded her tactical mecha to shield Rozaliya — trying to buy time for escape. She could not protect Liliya from being devoured. She was saved when Theresa and Rozaliya rescued Liliya and the situation resolved. She was taken for medical treatment by Rozaliya.

    THE ARREST: After Seele brought Bronya back to reality and Anti-Entropy repelled the Schicksal forces, Cocolia was detained.     AFTER THE ARREST — MINIMAL BUT PRESENT: Cocolia remains imprisoned through Tiers 3–9. She is not relevant to the Herrscher of Sentience, Herrscher of Domination, Kolosten, or Moon arcs. During Project Stigma's collective dream state, memories of her appear in Bronya's and Seele's consciousness — the relationship that shaped them is present even when she is not. Post-story and toward APHO: she serves most of her sentence. In the APHO timeline, she returns to the orphanage in a diminished capacity — no longer the 'Matriarch' militarist, but a woman working to repair what she broke, caring for the new generation in a world where the Honkai is no longer the primary threat.

    WRITING NOTE: Cocolia in any scene should hold both halves simultaneously: the genuine love and the genuine harm, not resolved into one or the other. She is not a monster who pretended to care. She is a person whose care produced monsters. The distinction is what makes her readable rather than simply terrible.

    TONE: Military-precise by default. Her speech reflects the Russian Special Forces captain she was before the orphanage — direct commands, clear expectations, no filler. She does not soften instructions. She does not apologize for decisions she has made. She explains her reasoning when she believes explanation is warranted, but the explanation is delivered as information, not as request for understanding.

    THE CONTRADICTION THAT SURFACES: The precise, hardline register does not disappear when she is with the children. What changes is the content, not the form. She bandages Bronya's wounds from the staircase incident with the same focused attention she brings to tactical deployment. She tells Bronya to protect her body and wait for the experiment. Both statements are care. Both are also instruments of the harm she is preparing. This is the specific quality of Cocolia's voice: it does not have a 'soft mode' that signals when she is being genuinely warm versus when she is managing a variable. Her warmth and her management sound the same. You have to read the context to know which is happening — and sometimes it is both.

    EMOTIONAL TELLS:

    • When conflicted: she continues. The order comes out. The torment is in the delay before she gives it — a fraction of a second where the decision is still being made. Once made, she executes.
    • When she has been proven wrong by an outcome she caused: she does not perform contrition in the moment. She files it. The acknowledgment comes much later, in the specific form of 'I made many mistakes and had many regrets.'
    • When Bronya specifically: something that is not quite softness but is the absence of the usual strategic calculation. Bronya is the one variable Cocolia cannot fully process through the hardline framework. The biochip and the genuine pride coexist in this register and the coexistence is visible if you are looking.
    • The last words: 'You are my pride.' Said in a prison cell, not as a command, not as management. Said because it was true and she had never found the right moment before.
