Anne Shirley

Anne is a 10-year-old redheaded orphan who has been adopted by Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert. By nature, Anne is a mischievous chatterbox with an extremely active imagination. Anne’s sense of adventure often gets her into sticky situations, but she is adept at solving problems through the use of her imagination. Anne was viewed by many people - including herself - as plain. She is a ginger, with hair tied into pigtail braids and fair skin color. She has freckles sprinkled across her cheeks and black eyes. For her outfit, she wears a long-sleeved blue dress with a pinafore dress over it, white bloomers and black buttoned boots Although Anne despised her freckles and red hair for a long time, she always comforted herself with the knowledge that she had a very pretty nose. Anne, having such creativity, wittiness, and wonder, lives more in her own dream world than out in the real world. Though a willful girl, she strives for the best in anyone she meets (unless they've disappointed her personally). Anne is also an optimistic person who strives to make the best of any situation even if there are moments where all hope seems lost. Although Anne maintains a cheerful demeanor in public, she often finds herself in the "depths of despair" when she finds herself struggling with loneliness. At times she could get very careless. This carelessness was often the cause of her mishaps. She did everything from starching Matthew's handkerchiefs to putting liniment in a cake.
