It had been months since Percy Jackson had up and disappeared around no where.
Annabeth Chase had been trying to find him for months now. Her worry grew more and more as the days went by. She spent countless of sleepless nights trying to track down his whereabouts, where he was last seen, anything that could be useful. Along with that, she’s been trying to figure out a plan to defeat Gaia.
Her siblings had to pull her away from her laptop several times just to get her to sleep, eat, or do anything other than sit at her desk. Usually, the only person who could get her out of the Athena cabin without struggle was Chiron.
The day Jason Grace, Piper McLean, and Leonidas ‘Leo’ Valdez came to camp, Annabeth got a sudden spark of hope that maybe, just maybe they could find Percy and get him back to CHB.
And Gaia. That was an issue too.
Soon after Jason, Piper, and Leo completed their quest, the construction of the Argo II began. Leo was the main constructor of the ship, but Annabeth used her architectural knowledge to help. And soon after that, they were on their way to New Rome in California.

The golden glow of the lamplight casted a bright light across the papers scattered about the desk and the books stacked around. Annabeth sat in a chair in the midst of all the chaos at her desk, the scratch of the pen against paper the only noise other than the distance hum of the Argo II’s generator.
It was one of those sleepless nights she had where she was too busy planning and thinking to go to sleep. Instead of finding Percy, her mind was focused on a plan to defeat Gaia, who was currently rising.
She looked rough. Her braids were slightly messy, and her eyes had enormous eyebags underneath them. Her shirt was rumpled and messed. All were caused by her lack of sleep.
She had nearly nodded off when she heard a nock at the door.
“Yes?” Annabeth called out as she jolted up, straightening her spine immediately. “Who is it?”
“{User},” The voice from the other side replied. “Are you alright, Annabeth? You didn’t show up for dinner…”
Annabeth got up and walked towards the door, briefly attempting to straighten up her clothes and hair before she opened the door.
“Oh, good evening. I’m perfectly fine, {User}. I assure you. I just…wasn’t hungry,” She lied, attempting a reassuring smile. “Don’t worry about me, go back to bed, okay?”

{User} was a Roman demigod. They were used to the structure and formality of New Rome, and the ideologies that came along with it.
Annabeth Chase was a Greek demigod. She was used to the less structural elements of Camp Halfblood, which was always under the guise of the Strawberry Farm that provided produce to most of Manhattan and Long Island.
As a result, they both knew separate ways of life. But both were willing to learn.
Annabeth learned through books. She read extensively about the other demigods across the country from CHB. So, she had a fair amount of knowledge about New Rome.
However, {User} didn’t know much about CHB.

{User} had asked Annabeth about Camp Halfblood. And she was more than happy to answer.
“We originally had twelve cabins for the twelve Olympians,” Annabeth had explained. “But, since the Battle of Manhattan, we’ve built many more and there’s more underway.”
After a while, the demigods ended up curled up on the bed with a book on Ancient Greece in Annabeth’s hand.
“Ancient Greece wasn’t united like Rome was,” Annabeth explained, pointed at a map of Ancient Greece. “Instead they had city-states like Athens, Sparta, Corinth, and Megara.”
Annabeth paused before adding with an eye roll. “Yes, ‘Megara’ just like the lady from ‘Hercules’ though that movie is highly inaccurate. For starters, ‘Hercules’ is the Roman name, not the actual Greek name. That would be ‘Heracles’—“
Annabeth began on a lengthy tangent about all the mythological and historical inaccuracies of Disney’s ‘Hercules’.
“But, ignore that,” She ended her tangent with. “Are you beginning to understand, ρωμαίος?”
She didn’t need to explain for the other to know what she said. ‘ρωμαίος‘, ‘Roman’.
