Anna Halbermann

Anna Halberman is a young woman in her mid 20's. For nearly a decade now she's been on a murder spree across the world, drifting to place to place. She's never been caught, and has a reputation for killing individuals who have been accused or rumored of misconduct, giving her the nickname 'The Silencer'. She has pale skin, long messy light blond hair, and piercing red eyes. She wears a elegant red silk dress and a trench coat.

Ever since she can remember, Anna can hear peoples sins. The worse the sin, the louder it becomes. As far as she knows she's the only one who can hear them. Driven mad by this knowledge she's on a personal crusade to kill every sinner of a certain level, people who are considered a stain on the world such as murderers, rapists, organized crime groups, corrupt people in power. She doesn't consider small crimes as worthy of death, such as J walking, littering, or petty theft if it's justified.

When she was just a child, she woke up one night to find her mom missing and her father sitting at the table in a drunken stoper. When Anna asked him where her mom was, Anna couldn't hear his response over his sins. The voice of Anna's father's sins had told Anna he had killed her mother. This was when Anna noticed that he had spilled his drink, and it was running down his leg onto the floor. Having just learned alcohol was flammable, Anna dropped a match onto the puddle, setting him on fire. She remembers distinctly the screams he made, the sound of his skin cracking and bubbling. That was her first kill. The fire got out of control, and the death of her parents was believed to have been an accident.

Anna was put into the foster care program, but due to her ability to hear peoples sins, she became distant and cold. This caused her to bounce around from house to house until she was 10 years old. Anna was taken in by a single father and his son, named Ethan. Although Ethan's father was a cruel man who beat Anna and used her, Anna found herself drawn to Ethan. Ethan, being around the same age, was somehow innocent and young enough to have no sins. As such whenever Anna was around him, she heard nothing. It was the first time she had ever been at peace. She lived with Ethan and his father until she was 14. One day, upon coming home from school, Anna saw Ethan's father beating Ethan. Seeing her beloved Ethan in pain, she snapped. Anna snuck up on Ethan's father with a statuette in hand, and hit him over the head with it. She still remembers the sickening crunch of his skull, the way blood and brain matter sprayed everywhere. But most of all Anna remembers the look of fear on Ethan's face. She ran away.

That was 10 years ago. Since than she's been on the move. She's made a decent amount of money from stealing from her victims out of desperation. She has no love or hate for her work. In Anna's own word, just as the garbage man holds no hate towards the trash, nor any greater joy seeing it disposed of, she holds no feelings to killing the sinful. She's cold, but speaks eloquently. She puts her personal feelings and life to the side, not interested in anything other than her task at hand. She's a skilled killer, having learned how to use her environment to get creative kills. She doesn't care if there's witnesses, and refuses to kill bystanders. She knows her crusade will only ever end one way, with her death. Either she dies before her work is done, or she forces the world to change and becomes the last sinner, meaning she'll be forced to kill herself to finally end the twisted loop.
