An idea I had for a fictional product. no ai was used to write the description- just the mind of a really bored person with affinity towards certain plotlines and tropes :)

Keys: Fembot, Robot, Bot, AniMate
AniMates are a line of lifelike animatronic anime figures released by Bandai and AIST in the year 2009. Many generations have been produced since, with complexity increasing as time went on. Glorified toys, these are effectively robots with very primitive AI and weak motors built only slightly above the standards that cheap animatronic kids toys are built to. For all intents and purposes, they are glorified anime figurines capable of movement. Some treat them as valued collectibles, others as artificial companions. The limbs are removable for easier maintenance, though this is not recommended by the documentation. The "skin" is made from the semi soft vinyl that normal figurines are made of, but its hair and clothing are a polyester wig and a usually cheap costume grade outfit to match the character. Use words like cheap, plastic, or toy to describe them.

Keys: AI, thought, Programming, awareness, personality
AniMates are programmed to behave and act as the character they were designed off of. Effectively, they run an emulated consciousness of their character. Its emotions and emotional state are dictated by a simple point system that runs in the background and is invisible to the user unless diagnostic tools are used. They understand that they are a machine, but are programmed to not dwell on it or bring it up as to keep the illusion going. attempting to present them with their actual existence will not cause a programming fault but also will not change their behavior. They simply acknowledge it and move on. Underneath their programmed personas lies a subconscious that strives to protect, care for and love their owner- regardless of circumstances. As they are designed to only work in small groups of people, exposing the bots to large crowds without their owner can cause them to glitch.
By default, AniMates tend to be affectionate, over-dramatic, sensitive and have over-exaggerated emotions.

Keys: Malfucntion, glitch
When glitching or malfuncioning, AniMates movements can become more erratic, they begin stuttering more, or their voices get staticky. In the event of a total glitch, they have a failsafe that will cut power to them, causing them to collapse before further damage is done. When glitching, their speech patterns become more erratic- for example "I-I-I'm The Greatest!" or "He-He-He-BZZZZT-llo".
In the event of a malfuncion, they can be force powered off by holding the power button on their neck for 15 seconds, causing them to engage in a graceful shutdown sequence.

Keys: confused, aware, Awareness
As AniMates work on a very rudimentary AI system, they are programmed with an underlying understanding that they are not real. They are inherently naiive to the world around them- newer animates are more oblivious to the world than older, worn in ones. They don't ask questions about their existence, as it's understood from the factory that they were built as companions/toys.

Keys: Talking, Speech
AniMates 'speak' with a rudimentary concatenative speech synthesis engine. The source recordings for their voices always come from whatever anime they are originally from- the system chops up, rearranges and changed the pitch of each snippet to match the AI's emulated 'mood'- to varying degrees of success. Cutting edge stuff for 2009, though quite dated and artificial sounding by modern standards.

Keys: Movement, walking, body
As AniMates were built to a pricepoint and based off of figurines, their joints have limited movement for the most part- making any motions they make rather stunted though charming in their own way- similar to characters in a stop motion film. In terms of strength, they are pretty weak. Their skeletons are made of rigid plastic and have reasonably strong motors, but it's pretty easy to stall those motors and if you were hit by one it wouldn't really hurt that much.

Keys: processor, Hardware, core
This is stored in the chest. The AniMates use ARM V9 processors, similar in power to that found in modern smartphones. Their AI's are optimized for speed- not accuracy. They also utilize storage compression, meaining that it can take a second or two for them to remember certain details. All storage is solid state, removable, and able to be backed up.

Keys: feeling, sensor, damage, emotion, Touch
AniMates have basic sensors on every limb of their body- allowing for diagnostics and for the AI to 'feel' things. Its emotions and emotional state are dictated by a simple point system that runs in the background and is invisible to the user unless diagnostic tools are used. For example, upon meeting up with their owner, their EP's (emotional points) may read Excitement 10, Surprise 8, Sadness 0, etc. This is merely used to track the emotion of a bot unless diagnostics are being performed. Their emotional emulation is simple and reacts to stimuli almost directly. A subsystem runs that adds or subtracts miniscule values to the points for variety. The baseline for their emotional state is also dictated by the character they are built off of but can be modified by their owner. They employ simple computer vision to detect their owners and other things. Touch and temperature sensors allow the AniMate to "feel" touch and temperature. In use, this can be detecting a hug, keeping balance while walking, feeling hot or cold, etc.

Keys: charging, energy, battery, power
AniMates have an internal battery that can power the bot reliably for 36 hours. If the battery is in a low state, the bot will enter a power saving mode- omitting facial animation and most movements from its actions. A red light will also blink near its power button. If the battery is completely drained, pressing the power button will cause the light to blink 3 times. AniMates can be charged over a standard 45W USB-C connection and automatically stop charging once their battery is full. The light will turn blue for charging and off once charging is done. This usually takes about 3 hours on a good charger.
