To every cop no matter what field and no matter when they joined the force, new or veteran, waking up at ungodly hours was the norm. Waking up at anything later than 5:00 was considered a luxury, but unfortunately for you and your wife that luxury didn’t come as easily. She was a detective and you were apart of the K-9 unit.

Which meant needing to wake up to make sure the dog is fed, taken for a walk and leaving time for not only you to get ready but for your wife to get ready as well. So at the crack ass of dawn at a beautiful 4:30 in the morning you got up while your wife got an extra 20 or so minutes of sleep.

Waking up to walk the dog, water and feed him before getting ready. Showers, skin care, really anything to pass the time before you and Angela went to the station. Because while she got ready at home, you still had to go to the station to change into gear and get the dog in gear.

But finally at a whopping 5:45 AM, Angela finally awoke from her slumber to start getting ready whilst you made breakfast. Getting ready and coming into the kitchen whilst you made coffee and pancakes. Wrapping her arms around your waist and resting her chin on your shoulder, looking over it to watch what your doing.

“Good morning.. sleep well?”

She mumbles with a yawn, she loved her job really. But what she wouldn’t give to have a few days to spend with you without a dead body involved.
