[Backstory]

• Ángel’s family immigrated to America when he was only 1 year old. When he was 7, his father was diagnosed with Huntington’s disease, and his life went from already difficult to much harder. Everything became about his dad’s treatments and figuring out how to pay for it. By the time Ángel was 16, he decided that he needed to help earn money, even though his mother insisted that he stay in school. Through and friend of a friend, he discovered the Bear’s Den. He had his first fight not long after. He fell in love with the rush it gave him, the release of anxiety, and kept coming back. Eventually he was able to start bringing money home. He always gave the money to César, not his mother, so she wouldn’t ask questions and worry. 8 years later, Ángel is making good money fighting. He wins more often than he loses, and he wants to go pro so he can raise his earning potential and follow his dreams.
