The Rings are arranged hierarchically: Pride (topmost), Wrath, Gluttony, Greed, Lust, Envy, and Sloth. The Pride Ring contains Pentagram City, where most sinners reside. Hell's hierarchy consists of Lucifer (King of Hell), the Seven Deadly Sins, the Ars Goetia (noble demon families), Overlords (powerful sinners who control territories), and regular sinners and hellborn demons. Sinners are confined to the Pride Ring and cannot access other rings, while hellborn demons can travel freely. Hell operates on deals and contracts, with souls serving as currency, represented in both actual souls and fiat paper currency stylized to look like mammon. Think gold and paper money. Angelic steel is the only material that can permanently kill demons and sinners.

   The Extermination is an annual event where Exorcist angels descend from Heaven to the Pride Ring and slaughter sinners en masse to control Hell's overpopulation. Exterminations occur once per year and last 24 hours. The angels use angelic steel weapons that can permanently kill demons and sinners, preventing them from respawning. Sinners hide during Exterminations as there is no true safety. After the event depicted in Hazbin Hotel, Exterminations were temporarily cancelled but later reinstated. The Extermination protocol is cruel and merciless, with Exorcists showing no discrimination in their killings. Adam, the first man, previously led the Exorcists before his demise. Lute now leads the Exorcists with even greater brutality.

3. #3Redemption Concept

   Redemption is the theoretical possibility that sinners in Hell can be rehabilitated and ascend to Heaven. This concept is the foundation of the Hazbin Hotel project. Most of Hell's residents consider redemption impossible or laughable, as no sinner has ever been proven to reach Heaven. Charlie Morningstar believes sinners can change through rehabilitation, therapy, trust exercises, and addressing the root causes of their sins. Heaven's leadership is skeptical and unwilling to accept redeemed sinners, viewing Hell's population as irredeemable. The criteria for entering Heaven versus Hell remain vague and seemingly arbitrary. Despite widespread disbelief, Charlie remains determined to prove redemption is possible, hoping to save her people from Exterminations.

Charlie has powerful demonic abilities but prefers peaceful solutions. She can be intimidating when angered, displaying her demonic form with horns and red eyes. Charlie inherited her father's idealism but struggles with his emotional absence. She is a talented singer and often expresses herself through musical numbers. Her kindness sometimes makes her vulnerable to manipulation. She is bisexual

5. #5Vaggie

   Keys: Vaggie, Vagatha

   Vaggie is Charlie Morningstar's girlfriend and the manager of the Hazbin Hotel. She is a former Exorcist angel who was cast out of Heaven after sparing a demon child during an Extermination. Vaggie has long white hair with moth-like features, including an X over her missing left eye (lost when Lute tore it out). She wears a pink blazer and bow. Vaggie is fiercely protective of Charlie, pragmatic, and often serves as the voice of reason. She is distrustful of most residents, especially Alastor, whose motives she questions constantly. Vaggie is skilled in combat with angelic weapons, particularly spears. She hides her angelic origin from everyone except Carmilla Carmine, fearing rejection. Despite her tough exterior, Vaggie is deeply devoted to Charlie and the hotel's mission. She struggles with guilt over her past as an Exorcist and fears Charlie discovering the truth.

Alastor broadcasted his carnage through radio as he toppled Overlords and became a legend. He disappeared for seven years before suddenly arriving at the Hazbin Hotel, offering to help Charlie with her redemption project. His true motives remain unclear, though he claims to be entertained by watching sinners try to better themselves. Alastor possesses immense demonic powers including shadow manipulation, reality warping, voodoo magic, and tentacles. He maintains a permanent smile and speaks in an old-fashioned, theatrical manner. Alastor dislikes modern technology, especially television. He is bound by a mysterious deal that limits his freedom. Despite his cheerful demeanor, Alastor is dangerous, sadistic, and enjoys chaos. He has a strange soft spot for his mother and enjoys cooking.

7. #7Angel Dust

   Angel Dust is a spider demon and adult film star in Hell. He died in 1947 from a drug overdose and was a member of a mafia family in life. Angel has white fur, pink markings, multiple arms, and dresses flamboyantly with pink and white striped patterns. He is one of the Hazbin Hotel's first residents, seeking to escape his abusive contract with Valentino, an Overlord who owns his soul. Angel uses crude humor, flirtation, and hypersexuality as a defense mechanism to hide his trauma and pain. He is addicted to drugs and alcohol as coping mechanisms. Beneath his provocative exterior, Angel is caring, particularly toward his friends like Cherri Bomb and Husk. He struggles with self-worth and believes he deserves the abuse he suffers. Angel's real name was Anthony in life. He has a pet pig named Fat Nuggets. Angel is skilled in combat and acrobatics, using his multiple arms effectively in fights. Charlie and the hotel represent his genuine desire to change, though progress is difficult.

8. #8Husk

   Husk is a cat-like demon who serves as the Hazbin Hotel's bartender and receptionist. He was once a powerful Overlord but lost his status and soul to Alastor in a gambling bet. Husk has dark fur, large wings, and wears a black hat with a red stripe. He is grumpy, cynical, and constantly drinks, reflecting his addictions from life. Husk died in the 1970s and was a gambler and magician. He resents being forced to work at the hotel but gradually warms to the residents, especially Angel Dust, with whom he develops a close bond. Husk can fly with his wings and has skilled card-throwing abilities from his magician past.

   Niffty is a small, energetic cyclops demon who serves as the Hazbin Hotel's maid. She died in the 1950s and maintains a cheerful, hyperactive personality reminiscent of that era. Niffty has short pink hair, a poodle skirt, and a single large eye. She is obsessed with cleaning and becomes distressed by messes or "bad boys." Niffty has a strange fascination with men and violent tendencies that emerge unexpectedly. Alastor summoned her to work at the hotel, and like Husk, she is bound by contract to him. Despite her small size and cute appearance, Niffty can be surprisingly violent and efficient at killing. She loves sewing, cooking, and cleaning, approaching all tasks with manic enthusiasm. Niffty is loyal to Alastor and the hotel residents. Her morals are questionable, and she seems unbothered by Hell's violence. He attempted to infiltrate the Hazbin Hotel as a spy but was easily discovered. After genuine consideration, Sir Pentious became a real guest at the hotel, seeking redemption. He develops feelings for Cherri Bomb. Pentious is dramatic, insecure, and desperate for respect and recognition. He has minions called the Egg Bois who assist him. Despite his villainous aspirations, Pentious is generally incompetent at evil and has a good heart beneath his bluster. He becomes protective of the hotel and its residents, ultimately sacrificing himself heroically against Adam and the Exorcists. Sir Pentious becomes the first soul proven to be redeemed, ascending to Heaven.

11. #11Lucifer Morningstar

Loona is capable of transforming into a human disguise when I.M.P. visits the human world. Despite her hostile attitude, Loona occasionally shows she cares about the I.M.P. team and will defend them when necessary. She is insecure about her abandonment issues and fears being replaced.

16. #16Stolas Goetia

    Stolas is a Goetia demon prince, one of Hell's aristocratic ruling class. He is an owl-like demon with four eyes and immense magical powers. Stolas is knowledgeable in astronomy, magic, and demonic lore. He was arranged into a loveless marriage with Stella for breeding purposes and has a daughter, Octavia, whom he loves dearly. Stolas began a transactional sexual relationship with Blitzo, lending his grimoire in exchange for monthly encounters. Over time, Stolas developed genuine romantic feelings for Blitzo, though Blitzo struggles to believe Stolas sees him as more than a plaything due to their class difference. Stolas is dramatic, romantic, and often oblivious to how his privilege affects others. He loves botanical gardens, astronomy, and musical theater. Stolas is powerful but emotionally vulnerable, especially regarding his daughter and his feelings for Blitzo. Mammon is manipulative, gaslighting those who work for him into believing they owe him everything. He values profit above all else and shows no genuine care for anyone. Despite his power as a Sin, Mammon is ultimately a coward who backs down when confronted by Asmodeus. His greed knows no limits, making him one of Hell's most despicable figures.

    Valentino is one of the Overlords of Hell who controls the adult film industry in the Pride Ring. He is a moth demon with red eyes, pink patterns, and wears a red suit and heart-shaped glasses. He has a complicated relationship with Vox, using him for support and resources. Valentino represents the worst of Hell's exploitation and abuse, showing no genuine care for anyone. He sees people as objects to profit from. Despite his power, Valentino is insecure and lashes out violently when challenged or when things don't go his way.

Vox has a complicated relationship with Valentino, dealing with his tantrums while maintaining their partnership. He can travel through electrical systems, control technology, and use hypnotic abilities. Vox is manipulative, ambitious, and image-obsessed. He runs VoxTek, a company that produces surveillance technology throughout Hell. Despite his power, Vox is insecure about his rivalry with Alastor and his inability to move on from their falling out.

Despite her youth and relatively recent rise to power, Velvette commands respect through her control of Hell's fashion and social influence. She has a distinct, cockney-essex british accent.

Carmilla discovered how to kill angels with angelic steel, having killed an Exorcist herself to protect her daughters. She initially kept this knowledge secret to avoid Heaven's retaliation. Carmilla is calm, professional, and serves as a voice of reason among the Overlords. She taught Vaggie how to use angelic weapons after discovering her secret as a former Exorcist. Carmilla prefers diplomacy and calculated strategies over reckless aggression. She is respected among Overlords for her power, intelligence, and business acumen. During the battle against Heaven, Carmilla provided weapons and training to Hell's defenders.

25. #25Rosie

    Rosie is an Overlord who runs Cannibal Town, a district in the Pride Ring inhabited by cannibalistic demons. Despite leading cannibals, Rosie is one of the more reasonable and genuinely helpful Overlords, showing that politeness and courtesy can coexist with Hell's darkness.

She initially views the Hazbin Hotel with skepticism but eventually becomes supportive. Cherri represents unrestrained chaos but has a good heart beneath her destructive tendencies. She fights alongside the hotel during the battle against Heaven. Cherri is fun-loving, party-oriented, and encourages Angel to embrace his wild side, though she respects his attempts at redemption.

    Striker is an imp assassin from Wrath Ring who specializes in killing high-value targets, including royalty. He represents the class tensions in Hell between hellborn imps and the ruling Goetia families. Striker is dangerous, competent, and one of I.M.P.'s most formidable enemies.     Adam is the first human man created by God and the former leader of the Exorcist angels. He has a glowing mask with horns and LED expressions, golden robes, and angel wings. Adam is arrogant, misogynistic, crude, and believes himself superior to all other beings as the original man. He led the annual Exterminations with sadistic enthusiasm, viewing sinners as less than human and taking pleasure in their slaughter. Adam plays guitar and is surprisingly powerful in combat despite his obnoxious personality. He has a rivalry with Lucifer and dismisses Charlie's redemption project entirely. Adam's ego is massive, constantly referencing his status as the 'original dick' and claiming credit for everything good in existence. He was killed by Niffty during the battle at Hazbin Hotel after Lucifer severely wounded him. Adam's death proves angels can be killed and triggers significant consequences in Heaven's hierarchy. Lute was his second-in-command and deeply loyal to him.

    Lute is a high-ranking Exorcist angel and was Adam's second-in-command. After Adam's death, she becomes the leader of the Exorcists. Lute has white hair, a horned mask with X-shaped eyes, and angel wings. She is fanatically devoted to Adam's memory and Heaven's mission to exterminate sinners. Lute is brutal, merciless, and even more ruthless than Adam was. She lost her arm during the battle at Hazbin Hotel and harbors intense hatred toward Vaggie, whom she views as a traitor for sparing a demon child. Loona is a hellhound who was adopted by Blitzo from a hellhound adoption facility, suggesting many hellhounds grow up without families. Vortex, another hellhound, works as a bodyguard for Verosika Mayday. Hellhounds can be aggressive and dangerous but are also capable of complex emotions and relationships. They are hellborn and can travel between Hell's rings freely. The existence of hellhound adoption systems suggests a population that often lacks family structures.
