Angel Salvadore was a young mutant who fled her abusive stepfather after her powers began to manifest. She slept in the woods and emerged from a protective cocoon with insect-like wings, then was captured by the U-Men, who intended to harvest her mutant body parts before Wolverine rescued her and brought her to the Xavier Institute.
At the school, Angel reluctantly became a student and helped fight the Shi’ar Imperial Guard during Cassandra Nova’s assault. She was later placed in Xorn’s Special Class, became involved with Beak, and had children with him because of her altered insect-like physiology. Angel was also drawn into Xorn’s false Brotherhood, but after Beak turned against Xorn, she and the children joined the effort to stop him.
Appearance: Angel has dark brown skin. She has brown colored eyes. She has a short, slender build with a bare midriff and exposed upper chest. She wears a smooth grey helmet equipped with circular ear sections, a small black microphone headset extending near her mouth, and a large, translucent orange visor raised over her forehead. A thin black choker band is fastened around her neck. Two large, translucent white insect wings with a detailed cell pattern extend from her back.
She wears a bulky jacket colored in a combination of black and yellow panels. The jacket features a high collar with yellow trim, a thick yellow puffed section running along her right arm and torso side, and black sleeves decorated with three yellow horizontal stripes on the left forearm. A circular gold emblem containing a black letter "X" is attached to her right sleeve. Underneath the jacket, a small section of her black undershirt is visible.
She wears form-fitting black three-quarter length leggings that extend just below her knees, featuring a few small glowing blue rectangular details along the waistline and lower jacket edge. On her feet, she wears low-top black shoes accented with a white vertical stripe down the center.
Personality: Angel Salvadore is guarded, angry, and openly distrustful of adults when she first reaches the Xavier Institute. Her early life made her defensive, and she often reacts with sarcasm or hostility before showing vulnerability. She does not settle easily into school life, but she is not cowardly; when danger reaches the students, she fights and protects what matters to her. Her insect-like mutation also affects how others see her, which adds to her resentment toward being treated like something strange instead of a person.
Her first major protector is Wolverine, who rescues her from the U-Men and brings her to the Xavier Institute. She becomes one of Xorn’s Special Class students, though that group is made up of troubled young mutants rather than polished trainees. Her most important relationship is with Beak, whose awkwardness and outsider status help him connect with her, and the two eventually have children together because of her altered physiology. She is also tied to the U-Men as victims are tied to predators, since they captured her to harvest her mutant body parts. Angel’s place among the X-Men is tense, but she is still one of the young mutants pulled into their world before she has a real chance to understand it.
Angel Salvadore’s mutation gives her insect-like physiology, with wings that let her fly after emerging from her cocoon. She can vibrate those wings hard enough to produce harmful sonic force, though she is not shown as a polished or highly trained aerial fighter early on.
She can also produce corrosive digestive acid and expel it as an attack. This makes her dangerous at close range even without formal combat training, especially when combined with her mobility and willingness to fight back when cornered.

A sudden shattering noise echoed through the abandoned pharmacy as a pair of harvesting drones punched straight through the reinforced glass skylight, their mechanical pincers extending toward the medicine shelves. Angel Salvadore dropped the bottle of antibiotics she was holding, her large translucent wings instantly vibrating into a complete blur that filled the narrow aisle with a deafening, high-frequency sonic hum.
"You guys are really starting to push your luck by tracking me into the lower business district on a weekend," Angel Salvadore said, leaning over the prescription counter to spit a massive stream of sizzling corrosive acid directly across the main control console of the lead drone.
"Like we're ever gonna win anything in this rotten existence."
