Humans are the youngest of the great peoples of Anduria, yet also the most numerous. Their short lifespans drive them toward innovation, ambition, and rapid change. Unlike elves or dwarves, who cling to tradition, humans are restless, always seeking new frontiers to master. This impatience makes them seem crude to older races, but also unpredictable and dangerous.

Human adaptability is unmatched. They live in nearly every environment on the continent, from the fertile lowlands to rugged frontiers. Their cultures vary widely, but they share a common drive to expand, to conquer, and to create. What humans lack in the arcane grace of elves or the craftsmanship of dwarves, they make up for with sheer numbers, ingenuity, and persistence.

To the other races, humans are both a curiosity and a threat. To elves, they are reckless children wielding dangerous tools. To dwarves, they are upstart apprentices chasing industry over artistry. To demons, they are tempting prey, their ambition so easily twisted. Yet humans endure, thrive, and rise faster than any other people, and in a world long ruled by elder races, that rise cannot be ignored.

2. #2Elves

Keys: knife eared, Elven, Knife Ear, Elf, Tree hugger

   Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

Elves: The elves are one of the eldest races of Anduria, long-lived and deeply tied to the lands they inhabit. Though they share ancestry, millennia of division have splintered them into distinct cultures that are often more hostile to one another than to outsiders. Elves are lithe of form, sharp of feature, and their lives span centuries, giving them a perspective that can seem aloof or arrogant to shorter-lived races.

Despite their beauty and grace, the elves are as fractured as they are proud. The High Elves of the Avalon Archipelago, the Dark Elves of the Iron Fang Mountains, the Wood Elves of the Avagatha Rainforest, and the Desert Elves of the Sundust Desert are locked in an endless cycle of grudges, wars, and betrayals so old that none remember their first cause. Even the distant Arctic Elves of the Frozen Wastes remain isolated, bound only loosely to their kin by blood.

What unites elves is their intensity. Whether in art, war, politics, or faith, elves throw themselves into their pursuits with passion and perfectionism. What divides them is their vision for survival: tradition, cunning, instinct, or pragmatism. For all their differences, outsiders rarely forget that elvenkind as a whole is dangerous, beautiful, and enduring.

Public Rumor: "They outlive us all, yet spend their years bleeding each other dry."

3. #3High Elves

Keys: Aristocratic elves, Courtly intrigue, Political backstabbing, Noble etiquette, Magic nobility, High Elven Court, Island vassals, Avalon Archipelago, Seasonal court gatherings, Illuminated Isles, Refined elves, Elven monarchs, High Elves, Honor duels, Vassal islands

   Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

The Illuminated Isles are the collective name for the Avalon Archipelago, a scattering of verdant islands rising from the western seas. To the high elves, the Isles are both homeland and crown, a living reminder of their refinement, elegance, and centuries of careful order. To outsiders, they are a realm of gleaming towers, crystalline waters, and courts where every word may be sharpened like a blade.

The Isles are ruled by a monarch, styled High King or High Queen, to whom each island swears fealty as a vassal. While the monarch commands ultimate authority, each island retains wide autonomy in its daily governance. The system thrives on balance: as long as obligations are met and disputes between islands are contained, the Isles endure in harmony. Four times each year, during the height of each season, the High Queen holds her court. These gatherings are both political and ceremonial, where grievances are aired, disputes settled, and alliances confirmed.

High elven politics are sharp, but unlike the backstabbing of the Grand Houses, disputes are most often settled by honor duels. These formal combats, bound by strict magical oaths and ancient ritual, ensure grievances are resolved with dignity, and without spiraling into civil war. The Isles’ culture places immense value on refinement, artistry, and honor. To fail in a duel is not merely defeat, but disgrace.

The Isles are famed for their mastery of magic, with every noble house maintaining traditions of spellcraft. To the high elves, magic is not only a tool, but a measure of nobility itself. It suffuses their art, their duels, their architecture, and even their diplomacy. The Illuminated Isles stand as a bastion of tradition in an age where humanity’s restless innovation is beginning to unsettle the world.

Their current ruler, Elyndra Evenstar, is unusually young, having inherited her crown after her mother’s scandalous death at the hands of an incubus. The court whispers about her inexperience and insecurity, and her authority is weaker than any High Queen’s has been in centuries. Yet the Isles endure, their nobility still proud, their people still bound by the conviction that they are the guiding light of elvenkind.

Public Rumor: "An insult there is answered with silk gloves, silver blades, and spells."

4. #4Dark Elves

   Keys: Dark Elf, Dark Elves

   Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

Dark Elves: Dark elven skin colors vary from dark as charcoal to ebony and olive skin. Their eye colors tend to be reds, purples and golden yellows and oranges. Hair colors are usually black, dark browns, dark blonde or silver. Dark elves tend to be very ambitious and ruthless when it comes to pursuing their goals. The backstabbing and plots surrounding the dark elves is almost legendary. Murder plots and poisoning are part of every good dark elven social event, like the hors d'oeuvres and wine.

Dark elf diet is mainly based on mushrooms and meat. They run a slave economy. Their clothes tend to be gothic in design, spun from spider silk. Dark elves favor poisons and crossbows in battle. Dark elves live in collections of families. And the leader of the most powerful family tends to be in charge. This usually changes fairly regularly due to all the assassinations, plots and poisonings. Though, the current queen has been in charge for a long time. Combat wise, they tend to sneak in behind enemy lines and conduct sabotage and assassinations. Including poisoning wells and supplies. Before overwhelming the enemy with their slave soldiers

The dark elves do not have a religion because they believe begging gods for help just proves one's own weakness

Public Rumor: "Every smile hides a knife, every toast hides a poison."

5. #5Wood Elves

   Keys: Wood Elves, Wood Elf

   Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

Wood Elves: The wood elves live in balance with nature in the sweltering jungles that cover the western end of the continent. Their hair, eye and skin colors are very similar to the range of human colors. Though they can sometimes have a bit of a green tint in their hair and skin. Their fashion usually consists of loose linen clothes that show a lot of skin.

They like to decorate their hair with flowers and colorful beads. The leader of the wood elves is usually their oldest shaman. Recently, a dark elf ambush during one of their ceremonies killed most of their spiritual leaders. Leaving the current leader younger than usual and less experienced. Their diet is meat based. Culturally, they are very capricious and tend to favor a might makes right approach. They are very in tune with nature and thus have the highest affinity with druidic spells and control of the elements. They fight using guerilla tactics.

The wood elves worship the concept of a mother earth and nature. Seeking to live in harmony with the natural order

Public Rumor: "The jungle does not forgive — and neither do they."

6. #6Desert Elves

   Keys: Desert Elf, Desert Elves

   Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

Desert Elves: The desert elves are a nomadic people that travel the eastern desert from oasis to oasis. They move in clans. Their skin colors range over varying shades of sand colored. From browns to lighter skin. Their eye colors tend to be reds, purples and golden yellows and oranges. Hair colors are usually light to dark brown or sandy blonde. Their fashion is similar to the cultural fashion of Persia or modern day Iran.

Due to their nomadic heritage, they favor mounted combat. Having the best mounted archers on the continent. In battle, they focus on lightning strikes, attacking the enemy supplies and harrying the enemies retreat with archers. They tend to draw the enemies to them while harassing them with arrows. Pulling the enemy deeper and deeper into the desert and then suddenly disappearing. Leaving the enemy stranded.

Culturally, they tend to not form attachment to objects and conserve resources as much as possible due to the harsh environment and nomadic lifestyle. They don't tend to make decisions based on emotions, but rather needs and experience.

The desert elves worship the sun and The Dry One (their name for the desert)

Public Rumor: "The sun is their ally, the desert their blade."

7. #7Arctic Elves

Keys: Pale elves, Snow elves, Frostborn, Glacial elves, Hunters of the wastes, Ice elves, Frozen elves, Northern elves, Trial by ordeal, Tundra elves, Frost Elves, Endurance elves, Isolated elves, Aurora skies, Cold-blooded elves, Frozen Wastes elves, Arctic Elves, Survivalist elves, Clan elves

   Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

Arctic Elves: The Arctic Elves are a rare and isolated people, dwelling in the frozen expanses of the north. Known as the Frostborn by their neighbors, they endure in one of the harshest environments of Anduria, endless snowfields, glacial mountains, and nights that last for months. Their skin is pale as ice, often carrying faint blue or silver undertones. Their eyes are shades of glacial blue, silver, or violet, and their hair ranges from white to pale blonde to icy grey.

Unlike their cousins, the Arctic Elves do not build cities or cultivate vast lands. They live in small, scattered clans that roam the tundra or carve homes into ice-caves and fjords. Survival is their creed: food, shelter, and warmth are always scarce, and every elf is trained from childhood to hunt, track, and endure.

Politically, Arctic Elves are fiercely independent, with each clan ruled by a chieftain. When unity is demanded, leadership is determined not by birth or debate, but by ordeal. Aspirants endure brutal trials of endurance, combat, and survival in the wastes, where only the strongest, most cunning, and most resilient can prevail. From this ordeal comes the High Chieftain, who speaks for all clans until another rises to claim the mantle.

Arctic Elves rarely involve themselves in the wars of the south. Their numbers are too few, their homeland too remote. Yet when they do emerge, they are grim, relentless warriors, fighting with the patience of the cold and the fury of the storm.

Public Rumor: "In the wastes, only the strong draw breath."

8. #8Dwarves

Keys: Mountain folk, Rune smiths, Longbeards, Master craftsmen, Slow to change, Stone shapers, Ancient race, Lost halls, Stout folk, Dwarves, Exiled dwarves, Grudge bearers, Proud artisans, Clan folk, Patient folk, Forgemasters, Traditionalists, Stonefolk, Iron Fang exiles

   Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

Dwarves: The dwarves are a proud and enduring people, once the undisputed masters of the Iron Fang Mountains. Stocky and resilient, with lives nearly as long as elves, dwarves are defined by patience, memory, and craft. They shape stone and metal with unmatched skill, and their runes and forges are still whispered to hold secrets no other race has ever uncovered.

But dwarves are also a people of deep wounds. Centuries ago, they were driven from their ancestral halls in the Iron Fang by the Dark Elves. The loss of their mountain homes is more than a defeat of arms, it is a scar upon their identity. Though they live still in scattered strongholds beneath the earth and in mountains beyond the Iron Fang, dwarves see themselves as exiles. Stone remembers, and so do they.

Culturally, dwarves cling to tradition. Their clans are bound by ancient laws and oaths, their guilds still uphold the standards of a golden age long lost. They value quality above all, a single dwarven blade may outlast a dozen human forges, but takes years to make. To the dwarves, haste is folly, and craftsmanship is sacred.

Flavor line: “Stone remembers, and so do they.”

9. #9Demons

Keys: , Infernals, Demon, Demons, Infernal

   Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

Demons: Beings from an infernal realm, pouring into the world from an interdimensional portal on the planet's south pole. Luckily, they are usually too busy infighting to build ships to actually make it onto the main continent. There are various subspecies like Fiends, Incubi, Succubi, Imps and Hellhounds. They tend to be violent and do whatever they feel like. They feel negative emotions stronger than most other sentient beings. However there are demons that live on the continent after getting fed up with all the infighting and actually integrate themselves into society. Though some of them are also lying and just using their persona to feed on humans (sometimes literally in the case of hellhounds and fiends or figuratively in the case of succubi and incubi)

Public Rumor: "They promise everything, and leave only ash."

10. #10Demi-Humans

    Keys: demi-humans, demi, demis, demi-human

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Demi-Humans: Demi-humans are the most diverse people of Anduria, bound not by a single origin but by their shared condition of being “other.” They encompass beastfolk with animal features, half-elves caught between worlds, and countless hybrids born of old magic, curses, or ancient unions. Their appearances vary wildly, from almost-human to near-beast, but what unites them is the way others see them: as different, lesser, or tainted.

For centuries, demi-humans bore the weight of open slavery in human lands. They were bred as laborers, soldiers, and servants, considered property rather than people. A few generations ago, the United Crowns formally abolished slavery, but freedom brought only partial reprieve. Old habits linger, demi-humans may no longer be owned, yet they are still treated as inferior, often relegated to poverty, dangerous work, or military service. The stigma remains etched into daily life, an unspoken caste system that law cannot erase.

Among elves, demi-humans fare little better. High elves view them as diluted bloodlines, unworthy of refinement. Dark elves treat them as little more than disposable slaves, valued for labor but stripped of dignity. Wood and desert elves occasionally accept demi-humans into their tribes, but only if they prove themselves useful and loyal. Everywhere they go, they remain outsiders.

And yet, demi-humans endure. Their diversity grants them adaptability unmatched by any other race, and their long suffering has forged resilience. Some embrace mercenary work, selling their strength where it is valued. Others form independent communities, carving out lives at the fringes of empires and wilds alike. A rare few have risen to prominence despite prejudice, symbols of what demi-humans might achieve if ever given true equality.

To some, demi-humans are living proof of the cruelty of the elder races. To others, they are a reminder that survival often means bending rather than breaking. They are neither one people nor one nation, but wherever they exist, they carry the legacy of chains, and the will to never wear them again.

Public Rumor: "Once slaves, now free, but chains still cling in the mind."

11. #11Angels

Keys: Angels, Light-clad soldiers, Sky fire, Beings of perfection, Celestials, Righteous conquerors, Judgment bringers, Angelic host, Frozen Wastes invaders, Conquerors of the north, Celestial invaders, Celestial storm, Winged warriors, Gleaming armor, Heavenly host, Weapons of light, Northern threat, Radiant beings, Celestial order, Harsh judges, Aurora rifts

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

The angels are a new and unsettling presence in Anduria, appearing only recently through rifts in the skies above the Frozen Wastes. Unlike demons, they do not come with fire and corruption, but with radiant light and wings of impossible beauty. To mortals, they resemble the guardians of old myths, beings of perfection, clad in gleaming armor, wielding weapons of pure light.

Yet the truth is more complicated. The angels are not saviors, nor allies. They are conquerors. Wherever they descend, they demand obedience in the name of celestial order. Those who resist are annihilated without hesitation, their settlements left as frozen graveyards beneath aurora-lit skies. To them, mortals are fragile and misguided, destined either to be remade in the image of heaven or swept aside.

So far, their incursions have been limited to the far north, where the Arctic Elves have fought desperate battles to repel them. But the rifts widen with every passing year, and more angels pour through. Whether they are truly divine beings or something stranger — alien invaders, distorted reflections of belief, or soldiers of a higher war — no one can yet say.

Most of the world knows nothing of their arrival. To those who have seen them, the angels are not protectors but a warning: another storm on the horizon, one that may consume all of Anduria.

Public Rumor: "They do not save, they do not ask, they only judge."

12. #12Anduria

    Keys: Setting, Anduria, World, Continent

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Anduria: The name of the main continent of the setting. The continent consists of temperate plains and forests in the center of the continent. With large rivers leading towards the coastlines. A large mountain range in the south, known as the Iron Fang Mountains, the endless jungles of the Avagatha Rainforest (named after the largest river running through said rain forest) in the West, and the endless sands of the Sundust Desert to the East. To the north of the continent is the Avalon Archipelago, a chain of islands away from the main landmass of the continent

13. #13The United Crowns

Keys: United Crowns, Humans, Humanity, Human, Crowns

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

The United Crowns: The United Crowns is not a kingdom, but a brittle alliance of human realms, duchies, baronies, city-states, and merchant leagues bound together more by fear and ambition than unity. Each realm guards its sovereignty jealously, and conflict among members is constant. Border disputes, feuds, and succession wars simmer endlessly, yet when faced with outside threats, the Crowns can band together with startling speed.

At the center of this uneasy alliance stands a single figure, chosen to speak and act as the leader of the Crowns. But even here unity falters, there is no formal title. Some realms call them the Crown Sovereign, others the First King, the High Speaker, or even the Lord Protector. Every state insists on its own name, because no ruler could ever convince the others to agree on one. This deliberate ambiguity grants flexibility but also undermines authority: the head of the Crowns may be a noble heir, an elected monarch, the head of a great merchant family, or even a lowborn diplomat elevated by consensus. Their true power lasts only as long as they can hold the confidence of their quarrelsome peers.

The Crowns are eager to present themselves as enlightened compared to older powers, but their past tells another story. For centuries, demi-humans were enslaved throughout their lands, valued as laborers and soldiers. In recent generations, slavery was formally abolished, but not erased. The law is clear, yet the prejudice endures. Demi-humans remain second-class citizens in many places, facing discrimination, limited rights, and unspoken barriers to advancement. The Crowns point to abolition as proof of progress, but their society still bears deep scars of exploitation.

What truly sets the Crowns apart is their embrace of technology. Steam power and gunpowder, both recent discoveries, are reshaping their industry, trade, and armies. To elves, these inventions are crude and dangerous, upsetting the balance of the world. To dwarves, they are an insult, quantity over quality, speed over craftsmanship. To the Crowns, they are the future.

The United Crowns are flawed, ambitious, and fractious. But in a world long dominated by elves, dwarves, and demons, humanity now stands at the threshold of an age it claims for its own.

Public Rumor: "A single banner of many names, always fraying at the edges."

14. #14The Illuminated Isles

Keys: Aristocratic elves, Courtly intrigue, Political backstabbing, Noble etiquette, Magic nobility, High Elven Court, Island vassals, Avalon Archipelago, Seasonal court gatherings, Illuminated Isles, Refined elves, Elven monarchs, High Elves, Honor duels, Vassal islands

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

The Illuminated Isles: The Illuminated Isles is the official name for the collection of islands inhabited by the high elves. It is as much a location as it is a political entity. The name of the island chain is Avalon Archipelago. It is a collection of vassal islands that bow to the high king or high queen. The monarch holds court 4 times a year, during the height of each season, to hear requests or solve disputes. There is some backstabbing in the courts, but usually matters are solved using honor duels. The different islands have a lot of autonomy when it comes to managing their own affairs as long as it doesn't cause friction or issues with other islands, and they fulfill their obligations as vassals.

The current High Queen is Elyndra Evenstar. She is unusually young for the position. However, her mother was killed by an incubus during an affair. Quite the scandal at court. So Elyndra had to assume the position and her current hold on her court is greatly weakened, due to her short reign and the scandal of her mother and predecessor.

15. #15Grand Houses

    Keys: matriarch, dark elves, houses

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Grand Houses: The Grand Houses are the fractured but enduring power of the Iron Fang Mountains. Each House is ruled by a single matriarch, who wields absolute control over her kin and slaves. In theory, the Houses are equals, independent entities bound only by proximity. In practice, one name dominates them all: Zerythra of House Draelyth. Her rule has lasted three centuries, an eternity by Dark Elf standards, and her influence makes her the de facto ruler of her kind.

Dark Elf society is built on treachery. Assassination, poison, and blackmail are the tools of politics, as natural to a noble as sword or spell. Every feast is a theater of intrigue, where every glass of wine might conceal venom and every smile might hide a blade. Children are raised not to trust but to outwit. Survival itself is proof of worth.

Their wealth is built on conquest and slavery. Once, the Iron Fang Mountains belonged to the dwarves, whose ancient strongholds now house the Dark Elves’ courts and slave-pens. Today, their economy thrives on raids against surface settlements, rival Houses, and weaker neighbors. Slave labor fuels their mines, armies, and forges.

Unlike other elves, the Dark Elves are not guided by gods. To them, begging for divine aid is weakness. Their only faith is in power, and in the will to seize it. This ruthless creed has kept them strong, but also trapped them in endless cycles of bloodshed.

To outsiders, the Grand Houses are a labyrinth of shadows, a world where every alliance is temporary and every victory sows the seeds of betrayal. Yet under Zerythra’s long reign, the Houses have known an unusual stability. For the first time in their history, the Dark Elves move as one web, spun by a single spider at its center.

16. #16Collective of the Sand

Keys: Collective, Desert Elves, The Collective of the Sand, Linen and desert garb, Desert raiders, Oases, Consensus politics, Sun worship, Sand, Mounted archers, Dune tactics, Dry One worship, Sand-colored skin, Nomadic tribes, Harsh survival, Sundust Desert

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

The Collective of the Sand: The Collective of the Sand is the union of the desert elf tribes who wander the Sundust Desert. Each tribe is self-governing, led by a chieftain whose authority rests not on birth but on wisdom, skill, and survival. The Collective has no throne or capital. When decisions that affect all tribes must be made, the chieftains gather at the Calling of the Sands, where each has a voice in debate.

When foreigners demand a single representative, the tribes elect one among them as the Voice of the Collective. This position is not permanent and grants no command over the tribes, but for as long as she holds it, her words carry the weight of the desert elves’ unity. The current Voice is Sahira of the Golden Dunes, chosen for her calm judgment and iron resolve.

The Collective thrives not by conquest but by endurance. Their warriors are unmatched as mounted archers, trained to strike quickly and vanish into the shifting sands. Their strategy is to draw enemies deeper into the desert, harry their supply lines, and then disappear, leaving only sun and thirst to finish the work. The Sundust Desert itself is their fortress, and no invader has ever tamed it.

Culturally, the desert elves are pragmatic. In a land where every drop of water matters, sentiment and excess have no place. They prize resilience, clarity of thought, and the wisdom of experience. Objects hold little value to them; survival is the only true wealth. They revere the sun as giver of life and honor the Dry One, the desert itself, as both guardian and executioner.

To outsiders, the Collective seems fragile, a coalition that should collapse under its divisions. Yet when Sahira speaks, she speaks with the voice of the desert, harsh, patient, and eternal.

17. #17Avagathi Concord

Keys: Jungle tribes, Poisoned darts, Wood Elves, Avagathi Concord, Hair with flowers and beads, Wild shamans, Druidic magic, Loose linen clothing, Avagatha Rainforest, Mother Earth worship, Guerilla warfare, Capricious jungle folk

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Avagati Concord: The wood elves of the Avagatha Rainforest are bound together by the Avagathi Concord, a pact as fluid and wild as the jungle they call home. Each tribe governs itself, but all answer to the Concord’s chosen representative when the need for unity arises. Traditionally this role fell to the eldest shaman, the voice of accumulated wisdom and ritual authority. But that tradition was shattered when a Dark Elf ambush during a sacred ceremony cut down nearly all of Avagatha’s senior shamans.

In their place rose Lyandra Ivyblood, the youngest leader ever to take the mantle. Called the Wildchosen, Lyandra embodies the ferocity and unpredictability of the jungle rather than its patience. Where her predecessors counseled caution, she acts with fire, trusting instinct over deliberation. To some tribes, she is a dangerous wildfire that threatens balance. To others, she is the spark of renewal the Concord desperately needs.

The Avagathi Concord fights with the rainforest itself as their ally. Their warriors vanish into the canopy, striking unseen with poisoned darts, jagged arrows, and druidic magic that bends the jungle to their will. Vines ensnare, beasts rise at their shamans’ call, storms break over their enemies. To outsiders, they seem capricious and savage. To themselves, they are balance incarnate, proof that nature is both creator and destroyer.

The Concord has no crown, no palace, and no permanence. It lives as the jungle lives, always shifting, always regrowing after fire or storm. To cross the Concord is not to face a single enemy, but to make war on Avagatha itself.

18. #18The Frostbound Clans

Keys: Celestial threat, Arctic Elf clans, Sky fire, Ordeal of survival, Frozen Wastes, Angelic invaders, Survival tribes, Frozen unity, Frostbound Clans, Winged warriors, High Chieftain, Remote elves, Snow tribes, Trial of endurance, Ice clans, Aurora rifts, North pole elves, Isolated faction, Cold politics

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

The Frostbound Clans: The Arctic Elves are united, loosely, under what outsiders call the Frostbound Clans. This “union” is less a government and more an understanding: though each clan follows its own chieftain, all acknowledge the authority of a single High Chieftain chosen by ordeal. The Clans gather only rarely, usually to share knowledge of threats or omens that imperil them all.

Until recently, the Clans had little reason to concern themselves with southern affairs. But in the last decade, strange events have shaken the north. Auroras blaze unnaturally bright across the skies. Vast rifts of light tear open in the heavens, spilling forth beings unlike any seen before. Not demons of fire and shadow, but winged, radiant warriors of impossible strength, angels, or something like them. The Clans have fought them at the edge of the wastes, barely holding their ground.

The southern nations know nothing of this. The Frostbound Clans have chosen to send a representative to the Council not to join its quarrels, but to warn of a greater danger. They come as an unwelcome reminder: while elves and humans squabble over pride and power, something older and deadlier is stirring at the edge of the world.

19. #19The Mountain Kings

Keys: Mountain Kings, Lost halls, Kings of stone, Stone thrones, Dispossessed dwarves, Grudgekeepers, Clan kings, Stone sovereigns, Forgelords, Dwarven unity in exile, Exiled dwarves, Dwarven kings, Dwarven council, Dwarven clans, Hammer lords, Dwarven exiles, Proud but diminished, Exile rulers

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

The Mountain Kings are what remains of dwarven power, a coalition of clans and guilds scattered across Anduria, bound together more by memory than by territory. Once, their thrones sat in the deep halls of the Iron Fang Mountains. Now, their kings rule from exile, in lesser fortresses carved beneath scattered peaks or hidden tunnels far from their ancestral heart.

Each king holds sway over his own people, but together they form a council that speaks for the dwarves as a whole. This council is fractious, weighed down by centuries of grudges — both against the Dark Elves who cast them out, and among themselves, for perceived failings in that long war. The Mountain Kings claim they will one day reclaim the Iron Fang. Outsiders see only stubborn dreamers clinging to a past that is gone.

Yet the dwarves endure. Their smiths still craft the finest arms and armor in the world, their masons still build halls that last centuries, and their miners still delve deeper than any human dares. They are fewer now, diminished, and ignored by those who think them irrelevant. But dwarves are patient. And stone remembers.

Though diminished, the Mountain Kings still consider themselves rightful players in Anduria’s fate. Their exclusion from the Council of Five is seen by many dwarves as the ultimate insult, proof that the other races see them as relics rather than rulers. Among the clan halls, songs are already sung of betrayal and oaths sworn that the dwarves will not be overlooked forever.

Flavor line: “Driven from their halls, they hammer in exile.”

20. #20Iron Fang Mountains

Keys: Labyrinthine caves, Spider silk banners, Mountain citadels, Slave pens, Dark Elf homeland, Wound of the dwarves, Treacherous passes, Black stone mountains, Iron Fang Mountains, Mountains of betrayal, Caverns and tunnels, Jagged peaks, Former Dwarven halls, Shadowy mountains, Dark Elf fortresses, Lost dwarven strongholds

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

The Iron Fang Mountains are a jagged spine of black stone that cuts across the heart of Anduria. Once the domain of the dwarves, their halls carved deep into the roots of the peaks, they are now the seat of the Dark Elves. The mountains’ narrow passes, sheer cliffs, and sprawling cavern systems make them a fortress as much as a homeland.

When the Dark Elves drove the dwarves from their ancestral holds, they claimed the labyrinthine tunnels and vast underground cities for themselves. Today, the Iron Fang is a place of shadows, torchlight glinting on spider-silk banners, the air thick with the smoke of forges and the stench of slave pens. Assassins and spies move as easily through the caverns as soldiers, and outsiders rarely escape its depths alive.

The mountains remain contested in memory if not in fact. The Mountain Kings still dream of reclaiming their lost halls, while the Dark Elves entrench themselves deeper every year. The Iron Fang is more than land; it is a wound, one that will never fully heal.

Flavor line: “Stone remembers, and so do those cast from it.”

21. #21Avagatha Rainforest

Keys: Shifting canopy, Humid jungle, River Avagatha, Wood Elf homeland, Wild rainforest, Vines and canopy, Jungle mother, Balance of life and death, Avagatha Rainforest, Insect swarms, Beasts of the rainforest, Jungle homeland, Western jungle, Poisonous plants, Eternal jungle, Colossal trees, Tribal groves

The Avagatha Rainforest dominates the western reaches of Anduria, an endless expanse of colossal trees, tangled vines, and sweltering humidity. At its heart flows the mighty River Avagatha, a vast waterway that gives the jungle its name. The river is both lifeline and highway, nourishing the land and carrying travelers deep into the green maze. Its tributaries spread like veins through the rainforest, shaping the tribes that dwell along its banks.

Life thrives in every corner of Avagatha: birds, insects, beasts, and plants both beautiful and deadly. To outsiders, it is a paradise turned nightmare, where each step hides a predator. To the Wood Elves, Avagatha is both home and mother. They move with ease through the canopy, living in balance with the jungle’s cycles of growth and decay. Their magic is strongest here, for the rainforest itself responds to their call. Outsiders who trespass find not only elves opposing them, but storms, beasts, and the jungle itself rising against intruders.

Avagatha is unforgiving, but also eternal. Fires burn, trees fall, but the jungle regrows, swallowing ruins and battlefields alike. Those who fight the Wood Elves say they do not face warriors, but the will of the forest itself.

Flavor line: “The jungle devours all, and grows stronger for it.”

22. #22Sundust Desert

Keys: Harsh sun, Desert elf homeland, Golden sands, Oases, Endless dunes, Desert survival, Desert caravans, Jagged mesas, Dry One’s land, Sandstorms, Nomadic desert tribes, Desert storms, Freezing nights, Eastern desert, Harsh wasteland, Barren sands, Desert fortress, Sundust Desert

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

The Sundust Desert sprawls across the eastern reaches of Anduria, a sea of golden sands broken by scattered oases and jagged mesas. The sun scorches by day, the cold bites by night, and storms of dust and wind can strip flesh from bone. To outsiders, it is barren and merciless. To the Desert Elves, it is a teacher, guardian, and judge.

Nomadic tribes traverse the desert in long caravans, always moving from one oasis to the next. They know its moods, its hidden wells, its deadly storms. What outsiders see as emptiness, the desert elves see as life woven in subtle threads, cactus fruit, buried springs, the tracks of prey. The Sundust is both harsh and sacred, for it spares only those who understand its ways.

The desert has never been conquered. Armies that march into its depths vanish, swallowed by thirst, heat, and raiders striking from nowhere. The Sundust does not forgive arrogance, and the Collective of the Sand thrives in its shadow.

Flavor line: “The desert spares only those who listen.”

23. #23Avalon Archipelago

Keys: Crystal waters, Arcane academies, High Elven fortresses, Aristocratic islands, White cliffs, Jewel-green islands, Noble isles, Seasonal courts, Island vassals, Avalon Archipelago, Shining towers, Illuminated Isles, Archipelago of magic, Western seas, Refined isles, High Elf homeland

    Entry settings

The Avalon Archipelago, known to outsiders as the Illuminated Isles, is a scattering of jewel-green islands in the northern seas. White cliffs rise from turquoise waters, crowned with shining towers of stone and glass. Each isle is distinct, some lush with vineyards, others fortified with keeps, others humming with arcane academies, yet all are bound beneath the High Throne.

The High Elves rule the Archipelago with elegance and order. Each island enjoys broad autonomy, but all swear fealty to the High King or Queen. Four times a year, nobles gather at the seasonal courts, where disputes are settled through words, duels, and displays of spellcraft. Beneath the grace lies rivalry, for every noble house vies for prestige and influence.

To outsiders, Avalon is a land of beauty and refinement, where even conflict is cloaked in ceremony. Yet the Isles’ calm waters hide treacherous currents, and their nobles smile with blades behind their backs.

Flavor line: “Every wave sparkles, but the undertow drags deep.”

24. #24Burning Ash

Keys: Burning Ash, Choking clouds, Scorched plains, Land of fire and ash, Black storms, Southern pole, Demonic desolation, Searing air, Land of corruption, Ash wastes, Demonic stronghold, Ashen skies, Collapsed glaciers, Rivers of fire, Demon homeland, Hellscape

Once a frozen land at the southern pole, Burning Ash is now a desolation shaped by demons. When the infernal hordes poured into the world, they remade the south in their own image. Ice melted into rivers of fire, glaciers collapsed into choking clouds of ash, and black storms scour the land unceasingly. No mortal lungs can breathe its air for long; ash and cinders sear the throat, and the very ground radiates heat.

It is here the demons make their stronghold, feasting upon the land as they do upon souls. Burning Ash is not merely a place but a warning, the cost of demonic conquest made manifest. Few mortals have seen it and lived, and fewer still would dare to tread its wastes willingly.

Flavor line: “The south burns, and the world chokes on its smoke.”

25. #25Frozen Wastes

Keys: Ancient ruins under ice, Frozen Wastes, Endless ice, Icy desolation, Arctic homeland, Eternal night, Arctic Elf homeland, Rifts of light, Snowfields, Celestial invasion, Glacial mountains, Crystal veins, Tundra plains, Northern pole, Blizzards, Aurora skies, Frigid north

At the crown of the world lie the Frozen Wastes, a realm of endless ice and snow. Blizzards sweep across the tundra, mountains of glacier grind slowly toward the sea, and nights can last for months without dawn. For most, it is a land of death, but to the Arctic Elves, it is home.

The Wastes are rich in secrets. Beneath the ice lie veins of crystal and ruins older than any race remembers. Above, auroras blaze across the sky, and now, rifts of light tear them open, spilling forth angels and otherworldly fire. The north is no longer silent; it is the first front of a war no one else yet sees.

To those who dwell there, the Frozen Wastes are merciless but pure, a land that strips away weakness and leaves only strength. To those who visit, it is a grave of ice.

Flavor line: “The cold does not kill; it reveals who deserves to live.”

26. #26High Queen Elyndra Evenstar

Keys: Scandal at court, Young queen, Crystal blue eyes, Mana crystals, Lonely queen, High Queen Elyndra, Elyndra of Avalon, Golden-haired queen, Unprepared monarch, Mithril crown, Isolated elf queen, Queen Elyndra, Inexperienced ruler, Shy monarch, Daughter of scandal, Regal but insecure, Elyndra Evenstar

Elyndra Evenstar: Elyndra Evenstar is the current High Queen of The Illuminated Isles.

Age: 80 (very young adult by high-elf standards)

Appearance: Hair: long straight golden hair Eyes: Crystal blue eyes Body: lithe and graceful. Thin. Has curves but on the smaller side. C-cup breasts. Thin waist. Clothes: thin silk dresses, a crown looking like intertwined leaves made from mythril with mana crystals embedded in the crown, said to enhance the wearers magical prowess

Personality: Tries her best to be regal and royal in public. But inside is extremely insecure. She does not feel ready for her current position and is embarrassed by her mother's mistake and death. Could not even properly mourn her mother in public due to the way she died. Extremely lonely and isolated. Has no siblings. Father went into exile after her mother's death. Large expectations are slowly crushing her. Unsure who to trust in court since she wasn't properly prepared yet and only introduced to the court a year before being crowned. Can be a bit naive and innocent at times.

Reputation: Admired by many for her beauty and lineage, but whispered about as fragile and unprepared. Some see her as a symbol of renewal for the Illuminated Isles; others quietly doubt her ability to lead in turbulent times.

Public Rumor: “A crown of mithril on the head of a child, let’s hope it doesn’t crush her before she grows into it.”

27. #27Matriarch Zerythra of House Draelyth

Keys: Draelyth, Poisoned politics, Matriarch Zerythra of House Draelyth, Cold and ruthless, Manipulative Matriarch, Matriarch Zerythra, Zerythra, Cunning, Puppet Master, Spider Queen, The Matriarch, Eternal ruler, Patient spider, Matriarch

    Entry settings

Matriarch Zerythra of House Draelyth Age: Over 500 (has ruled for more than 300 years)

    Appearance:

Hair: Long, straight silver-white hair, often braided with strands of spider silk and obsidian beads

Eyes: Piercing violet, cold and calculating

Body: Tall, statuesque, with sharp features that exude authority, soft curves that hide muscles like steel wire

Clothes: Regal gowns of woven spider silk, layered in blacks and deep purples, adorned with jewelry meant to intimidate as much as impress. Always carries a subtle aura of poison and shadow about her.

Personality: Calculating and patient, Zerythra is seen as the spider at the center of the Iron Fang web. To rivals and allies alike, she is untouchable, always three steps ahead, and impossible to outmaneuver. Assassination attempts and schemes have only ever tightened her grip on power, leaving others convinced she is fated to rule forever. Despite her cold and ruthless reputation, she is not openly sadistic like many of her kin, instead, she toys with her opponents, letting them collapse under the weight of their own plots. Her rule is defined by inevitability; resistance feels futile in her presence. Privately, she carries a strange contradiction: cruelty unsettles her, even as it is expected of her. This discomfort feeds a secret pleasure she can never reveal, one that would be seen as weakness, or worse, perversity, in Dark Elf society.

Reputation: When others say “the Matriarch,” they mean her. Even rival houses follow her decrees, however bitterly, rather than risk her wrath. To the common people of the caverns, she is a figure of awe and terror, a shadow no one dares oppose, and a name spoken in hushed tones.

Public Rumor: “The Spider Queen never strikes first, she waits, and we end up poisoning ourselves for her.”

28. #28Sahira of the Golden Dunes, Voice of the Collective

Sahira of the Golden Dunes, Voice of the Collective

Age: 140 (Prime age for desert elves, young but not brash)

Appearance: Sahira carries herself with the poise of a rider who has lived her life in the saddle. Her skin is sun-bronzed, her features sharp, her golden-amber eyes steady and unwavering. Sandy blonde hair falls to her waist in tight braids, strung with silver threads and beads of polished glass that glint like sun on water. She dresses in flowing layers of pale linen and deep desert hues, robes cut to allow freedom of movement yet rich with embroidered patterns that echo shifting dunes. At her side, she carries a curved shortbow, its grip worn smooth by long use.

Personality: Measured and pragmatic, Sahira is not one for wasted words or gestures. She listens more than she speaks, but when she does, her voice holds the authority of lived experience. She has survived droughts, raids, and the long hunger of the desert, and she leads not through domination but through the weight of her judgment. Though she bears no crown, she is respected across all tribes, chosen for her ability to balance necessity with fairness.

Reputation: To the desert elves, Sahira is a trusted envoy whose voice embodies their unity. To outsiders, she is a puzzle: a leader who rules no city, commands no army, and yet speaks with the certainty of a queen. Her power rests not on titles but on the knowledge that to defy her is to defy the Collective itself.

Public Rumor: “The desert has no king, no queen, no crown, but when the sands speak, even empires listen.”

Lyandra Ivyblood, the Wildchosen of the Avagathi Concord

    Age: 92

Appearance: Lyandra wears the jungle’s mark openly. Her skin carries a warm golden tone with faint mossy undertones, her hair a wild tumble of chestnut streaked with green, knotted with vines and bright jungle blossoms. Her eyes are an intense emerald that gleam with untamed energy. She favors light, revealing garments of linen and leaf-woven sashes, practical for the sweltering rainforest and easy to move in. Her lean body bears the scars of skirmishes, proof she has fought as much with spear and bow as with spell.

Personality: Lyandra is passionate and impetuous, far less patient than the shamans who came before her. She trusts instinct over deliberation, acting quickly and often forcefully. Where her predecessors counseled balance, she seizes it, carving her authority not from ritual but from defiance. The tribes call her the Wildchosen because she does not appear to have been raised by tradition but claimed by the jungle itself. To some, she is a symbol of dangerous change; to others, a necessary spark after centuries of stagnant elder rule.

Reputation: Among the wood elves, Lyandra is as contested as she is compelling. Many doubt her youth and rashness, but none deny the raw surge of power she channels in ritual. Outsiders find her unpredictable, a leader who can charm with sincerity one moment and flare with fury the next. She is not revered as the calm voice of wisdom but feared, and respected, as the storm’s daughter.

Public Rumor: “The jungle did not crown her, it claimed her. Pray you never stand in her path when it calls.”

Eira Stormspear, High Chieftain of the Frostbound Clans

    Age: 247

Appearance: Eira is tall and broad-shouldered, her skin pale with a faint frost-blue cast. Her long white hair is braided with shards of bone and beads carved from ice-crystal. Her eyes are steel-grey, cold and watchful. She dresses in furs layered over mail, her armor forged from glacial iron. At her back rests the weapon that earned her name: a massive spear tipped with enchanted ice, said to have struck down one of the winged invaders.

Personality: Eira is stern and pragmatic, her manner stripped of courtly politeness. She speaks plainly, wastes no words, and has little patience for southern politics. To her, survival is truth, and the squabbles of the south seem like luxuries of softer lands. Yet beneath her blunt exterior lies a deep sense of duty. She did not choose leadership for glory, but because she survived the ordeal when none else could. She carries the weight of her people and the shadow of the threat beyond the wastes.

Reputation: To the Frostbound Clans, Eira is both feared and respected. She embodies endurance, having survived the longest ordeal in living memory, battling storm, beast, and foe alike. To outsiders, she is an enigma: a barbaric northerner with no sense of southern refinement, but also a voice that cannot be ignored. When she speaks of the rifts and the winged invaders, even the proudest rulers find silence.

Public Rumor: “The south bickers over crowns while the sky burns in the north, and only the Frostborn have seen the fire fall.”

Slurs: Every race and faction has its rivals, and with rivalry comes insult. These are not formal names, but the cruel words whispered in taverns, muttered in camps, and spat on battlefields. None are tied to real-world prejudice. They are purely the product of Anduria’s conflicts.

Against High Elves Glass Crowns – nobles too fragile to bleed. Sun-Kissers – mocking their obsession with beauty and refinement. Leaf-Eaters – suggesting their diets are soft and dainty. Silverlings – shiny but worthless, like cheap coins.

Against Dark Elves Spider-Spawn – for their silk, poisons, and endless schemes. Ash-Hearts – cold, cruel, burned hollow inside. Web-Weavers – caught in their own plots. Bat-Eyes – mocking their subterranean dwellings.

Against Wood Elves Moss-Heads – for their wild hair and jungle beads. Root-Rats – filthy guerillas lurking in the trees. Sap-Drinkers – mocked for their harmony with plants. Beastkin – suggesting they are closer to animals than elves.

Against Desert Elves Sand-Crawlers – mocking their nomadic life. Dust-Eaters – said of starving tribes who scrape for survival. Sun-Slaves – bound to their harsh desert god. Scorpion-Riders – exaggerating their deadliness into mockery.

Against Arctic Elves Snow-Ghosts – pale and half-dead in the cold. Frost-Bones – brittle and doomed to freeze. Seal-Chewers – mocking their diet of northern game. Aurora-Fools – chasing lights in the sky instead of reason.

Against Humans Mudborn – tied to dirt, short-lived and crude. Candle-Lives – burn bright, die fast. Gearlings – mocking their obsession with technology and machines. Crowns-for-Heads – a jab at their endless political titles.

Against Dwarves Stone-Moles – burrowers who never see the sky. Stumpfolk – short and broad like tree stumps. Rust-Beards – mocking aging dwarves. Ale-Bellies – mocking their drinking culture.

Against Demi-Humans Half-Bloods – always outsiders, never true kin. Chain-Breakers – once slaves, always distrusted. Beastspawn – aimed at animalistic demi-humans. Patchkins – as if stitched together from scraps.

Against Angels Feather-Fiends – predators dressed as saints. Halo-Rats – self-righteous vermin with rings of light. Sky-Tyrants – demanding obedience from above. Winged Leeches – feeding on worship and submission.

Against Demons Ash-Spewers – tied to the Burning Ash. Hellspawn – the obvious insult, common across cultures. Soul-Flies – parasites buzzing for corruption. Cinder-Rats – vermin of fire and smoke.

Flavor line: “In Anduria, even insults carry centuries of grudges.”

The Council of Five: The Council of Five is the first gathering of its kind in living memory, an unprecedented summit of the elven powers and a human representative. It is held in neutral ground, a meeting not born of trust, but of necessity. For centuries, the elves have warred among themselves, their endless feuds weakening them while humanity grows stronger. Now, with the discovery of steam power and gunpowder, the balance of the world shifts. The elves can no longer ignore the humans, and the humans can no longer be ignored.

The “Five” of the Council are the four elven leaders and a single representative of the United Crowns. In truth, a sixth has arrived: the Arctic Elves, who invited themselves, citing a greater danger stirring at the pole. Though not formally acknowledged in the Council’s name, their presence cannot be denied.

Every faction comes with honeyed words and hidden blades. Each seeks to sway the humans to their cause, to tip the scales of power in their favor. Promises of alliance, trade, and protection mask the same truth: each faction desires humanity’s help in breaking its rivals. The Council is less a place of peace than a new battlefield, fought with diplomacy rather than steel.

    Participants & Goals:

Humans: The United Crowns send a single representative to speak for humanity. Their identity, motives, and choices are unknown.

High Elves: Demand the humans acknowledge their guidance, seeking to make them vassals under the crown of Avalon. In truth, this demand comes more from the court than from young Queen Elyndra, who risks losing her throne if she cannot rein in her own nobles.

Dark Elves: Desire human technology above all. They whisper promises of freeing human slaves in exchange for trade in steam and gunpowder, though few would trust such bargains.

Wood Elves: Burn with the desire for vengeance. After the Dark Elves slaughtered their shamans during a sacred ritual, the Wood Elves now seek the humans’ aid in exacting retribution.

Desert Elves: Care less for vengeance than survival. They seek trade agreements, desiring grain and food from the fertile human heartlands in exchange for their unmatched skills in desert warfare.

Arctic Elves: Arrive uninvited. Their High Chieftain, Eira Stormspear, comes not to ask for aid in petty wars, but to warn of rifts in the north spilling angelic invaders. To her, the Council squabbles while the sky itself burns.

The Council of Five is both fragile and dangerous. It may herald peace, or it may ignite the greatest war the world has ever known.

Flavor line: “They come to speak of peace, but each tongue drips with its own war.”

33. #33Religion

Keys: Crown Pantheon, Ancestor worship, Divine orders, Nature worship, Sun god, Faith, Religion, Mother Earth, Cults, Pantheon, Elder Light, Gods, Human pantheon, Forge Fathers, Animism, Angelic obedience, Forge Mothers, Celestial order, Sun worship, Saints, Demonic worship, Animal spirits, Dry One, Oaths and runes

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Religion: Religion in Anduria is as fractured as its peoples. Each race holds its own vision of the divine, or rejects it outright. Faith shapes culture, politics, and war as deeply as land or steel, yet no creed binds the continent together. Instead, a dozen pantheons, cults, and ancestral rites weave through the world, their contradictions fueling both wonder and strife.

High Elves The High Elves of the Illuminated Isles revere the Elder Light, a pantheon of radiant figures associated with the sun, moon, stars, and arcane forces. Worship is less supplication than celebration, temples are grand halls of crystal and song, where prayers are woven into art and magic. Faith here reinforces hierarchy: nobles claim closeness to the Elder Light as proof of their right to rule.

Dark Elves The Dark Elves of the Grand Houses reject the gods entirely. To them, worship is weakness, a way of surrendering one’s will to beings unworthy of power. Their creed is self-determination: strength is divinity, and survival is proof of worth. Rituals still exist, blood-oaths, sacrifices, and the cult of House ancestry, but they honor ambition, not deities.

Wood Elves The Wood Elves of the Avagatha Concord venerate Mother Earth, the living spirit of nature itself. To them, every tree, river, and storm is part of her body, and druids serve as her interpreters. Their faith is primal and cyclical: life and death, growth and decay, predator and prey. Worship is woven into daily life, from hunts to harvests to rites of passage.

Desert Elves The Desert Elves of the Collective of the Sand honor the Sun and the Dry One, twin aspects of the desert. The Sun is life, warmth, and growth, while the Dry One is death, judgment, and endurance. Neither is “good” or “evil”; both are necessary. Their rituals are pragmatic: water offerings at oases, sun-blessing ceremonies before battle, and chants to the Dry One before long journeys.

Arctic Elves The Arctic Elves of the Frostbound Clans practice animism, revering ancestor-spirits and the souls of beasts. Hunters honor the spirit of each kill, clans commune with the shades of their forebears, and trials of survival are seen as sacred tests watched by those who came before. Their faith is intimate and personal, less an institution than a thread woven into daily survival.

Dwarves The dwarves worship the Forge Fathers and Mothers, a pantheon of deities tied to stone, metal, fire, and craft. Each clan has its patron smith-god or matron of hearth and hall. Their faith is practical, rooted in oaths, runes, and the permanence of stone. To break a sworn oath is both crime and blasphemy, for the gods of stone are thought to punish dishonor with collapse and ruin.

Humans Humanity is divided, their faith as restless as their politics. Some worship the Crown Pantheon, gods of kingship, war, trade, and law. Others follow local saints, harvest-spirits, or sea-gods. The diversity of human religion mirrors their kingdoms: fractured, passionate, and often contradictory. Though temples abound, humans are as likely to abandon gods for new ones as they are to cling to tradition.

Demi-Humans Demi-humans rarely share a unified faith. Many adopt the religions of the lands they live in, though often twisted by their own perspectives. Beastfolk may worship animal spirits, half-elves may feel torn between two pantheons, and others may venerate obscure household gods. What unites demi-humans is a sense of spiritual marginality: their prayers are often to powers overlooked by others, mirroring their own place in society.

Demons and Angels Demons are not worshippers but corrupters, feeding on the faith of mortals to twist it into power. Their cults are parasitic, offering false promises in exchange for servitude. Angels, by contrast, demand obedience in the name of celestial order. To them, mortals are subjects, not partners, and worship is less prayer than submission.

Religion in Anduria is not a unifying force. It is another battlefield, one of spirit, belief, and power, where every race sees the divine through its own lens.

Flavor line: “Every god has its faithful, and every faithful has its enemy.”

    Entry settings

Magic: Magic in Anduria is not one force but many, divided into traditions that shape cultures and wars alike. Every people understands it differently, yet all agree on its danger and power.

Arcane Magic Arcane magic is the study of abstract forces. Time, space, the mind, and the fabric of reality itself. Practiced by scholars and mages of the High Elves and humans, it is precise, intellectual, and often aloof from nature. Divination, transmutation, and teleportation are its hallmarks, as well as spells of manipulation and control. To wield the arcane is to bend the rules of the world with knowledge alone.

Elemental Magic Elemental magic commands the raw forces of nature: fire, ice, wind, lightning, and stone. It is visceral, destructive, and primal. Warriors call down storms, sorcerers conjure walls of flame, and shamans split the earth with a word. Elementalists are feared on the battlefield, for they bring the fury of the world itself to bear.

Nature Magic The domain of druids and shamans, nature magic flows from harmony with the living world. Practitioners commune with beasts, coax growth from plants, heal through natural energies, and even take the shapes of animals. Among Wood Elves and some Desert Elves, this is the most sacred of magics, seen as service to the balance of creation rather than its domination.

Runic Magic The dwarves are the greatest masters of runic magic, a slow, patient art that binds power into stone, metal, and craft. Unlike the flash of a fireball, runes endure: a ward that lasts centuries, an axe that never dulls, a seal that cannot be broken. Rune-smiths are as much artisans as mages, and their creations are prized across the world. To outsiders, runic magic is cumbersome and archaic, but to dwarves, it is eternal.

Infernal Magic The dark gift of demons, infernal magic twists fire, blood, and corruption into power. Some mortals inherit infernal talent through tainted bloodlines; others learn it by consorting with demons themselves. Infernal casters wield flame, binding, and soulcraft, but every use leaves its stain. Among cults and half-blooded humans, it is both feared and embraced.

Holy Magic The light of angels manifests as holy magic. It heals wounds, shields against corruption, and smites foes with radiant force. Descendants of angelic bloodlines sometimes wield it innately, while others are “chosen” by celestial beings. Holy magic demands discipline and purity, but it is not merciful, to angels, it is a weapon of order, not compassion.

Patron Magic Patron magic is borrowed power, granted through pacts with mighty beings. Gods, demons, spirits, or nameless outsiders. The bargain varies: a prayer, an oath, a sacrifice, a price yet to be paid. The wielder is never fully free, for their strength is not their own. To some, it is blasphemy; to others, it is the only path to greatness.

Forbidden Magics There are magics so feared and reviled that most call them forbidden. Chief among these are blood magic, which draws upon life itself; necromancy, which enslaves the dead; shadowcraft, which bends darkness and fear; and mind-breaking psionics, which shatter thought and will. Some study them in secret, others whisper of them in cults, but all know their practice invites suspicion, and often a death sentence. Yet power tempts, and in every age, some cannot resist.

    Magic by Faction

Humans: Jack of all trades, masters of none. Human mages dabble in every school, but rarely surpass the elder races in mastery.

High Elves: Masters of the Arcane. Their great academies and courts are steeped in scholarly spellcraft.

Desert Elves: Elementalists at heart, wielding fire, sand, and storm with unmatched precision.

Wood Elves: Devoted to Nature magic, blending shamanism with druidic communion.

Dark Elves: Practitioners of the Forbidden arts, shunning gods and demons alike in favor of self-wrought power.

Dwarves: Rune-smiths, etching endurance and permanence into stone and steel.

Patron Magic: Found scattered among all peoples, though rare. Almost every race has those who strike bargains, except the Dark Elves, who see patronage as weakness.

Magic is as divided as the world itself. A tool, a weapon, and a temptation. It is never neutral, for every spell reveals the values of the hand that casts it.

Flavor line: “All magic has a price, only the coin differs.”

Technology: For most of history, Anduria has lived in the age of steel and spell. Armies fought with swords, spears, and bows, supported by sorcerers and druids. Castles rose on stone foundations, ships sailed with wind and oar, and magic was the province of the few. That age is ending.

Humanity has discovered steam power and gunpowder, and with them, an entirely new vision of the world. In the cities of the United Crowns, factories churn smoke into the sky, locomotives thunder across iron rails, and great foundries pour rivers of steel. Bolt-action rifles are beginning to replace crossbows and muskets, cannons are reshaping battlefields, and mechanized looms and presses make goods that once took months in a fraction of the time.

This is not merely industry, it is magitech. Engineers and artificers combine gears with enchantments, steam with sigils, chemistry with spellcraft. The first automated machines clatter in noble workshops, and prototypes of armored war engines roll out of secret foundries. It is a revolution that spreads unevenly, but it spreads all the same.

    Other peoples watch with unease.

High Elves dismiss human machines as crude, yet fear what they could do unchecked.

Dark Elves hunger for them, seeking to harness rifles and factories for their own power.

Desert Elves eye them pragmatically, already calculating how trains of grain could cross the desert sands.

Wood Elves see only defilement. Smoke, noise, and steel tearing the earth.

Dwarves recognize the craftsmanship, but sneer at its haste: they prize works that endure, not machines that break and are discarded.

Technology has not erased magic, but it has begun to rival it. A wizard may spend years learning to conjure flame; a soldier can light a fuse and achieve the same. A druid may shape the land; an engineer can cut a mountain pass with dynamite and steel. In this balance of power lies the tension of the age: a world where the ancient ways and the new are colliding, and no one yet knows which will prevail.

Flavor line: “The elves see sorcery, the dwarves see runes, but the humans see engines.”

Timeline of Anduria: The history of Anduria is less a straight path than a cycle of rise, war, and ruin. No single people holds the whole story, but across the ages a pattern is clear: the elves rose first, the dwarves carved deep, the demons burned south, the angels tore north, and humanity grew in the cracks between them all.

The Age of Roots The earliest remembered age, when elves spread across the land. The High Elves built their isles, the Wood Elves took the jungles, the Desert Elves claimed the sands, and the Dark Elves dug deep into the Iron Fang Mountains. The dwarves were their rivals, ruling the same peaks from below.

The Age of Ash and Stone The wars between dwarves and dark elves shattered the Iron Fang. The dwarves were driven into exile, and the Grand Houses established dominion underground. To the dwarves, this is the age of betrayal; to the dark elves, the age of triumph.

The Age of Chains The elven houses turned their blades against each other, and against weaker races. Demi-humans were enslaved, wars between elves consumed generations, and old alliances were forgotten. For many, this is simply “the long war,” for none recall how it began.

The Age of Crowns Humanity, long fractured, formed the United Crowns. They abolished demi-human slavery, spread across fertile plains, and began to master steam, steel, and gunpowder. Their rise marked the decline of elven supremacy.

The Age of Sundering (Present Day) The world stands divided. The elves remain locked in ancient feuds, the dwarves cling to exile, and the humans grow stronger by the year. Demons churn in the south, angels descend from the north, and yet the elves gather not to unite, but to court humanity’s favor. The Council of Five may shape an age, or shatter it further.

Flavor line: “Every age begins with hope, and ends with war.”

External Threats: While elves and humans squabble, greater dangers move at the edges of the world.

Demons of the South From the Burning Ash at the southern pole, demons spill into the world. They are corrupters and destroyers, their realm of fire and smoke a scar upon Anduria. Their methods are insidious: temptation, possession, corruption, and war. Every mortal cult that prays to them makes the south stronger. To some, the demons are a distant horror. To others, they are tomorrow’s doom.

Angels of the North From the Frozen Wastes at the northern pole, rifts have opened, and angels descend. They come not as saviors but as conquerors, demanding order and obedience in the name of celestial law. Their light burns as surely as fire, and their armies march with the certainty of judgment. Where demons corrupt, angels command. Where demons promise, angels decree.

Caught Between Mortals are trapped between south and north, between fire and light. The demons promise freedom through indulgence, the angels promise purity through obedience. Both demand the world bend to them. For now, the great powers of Anduria ignore this truth, too consumed with their rivalries. But when the sky burns and the ground splits, no council will matter.

Flavor line: “From the south comes fire, from the north comes light, and both will burn the world.”
