Andrius, also known as Boreas, the Great Wolf King of the North, is a powerful spirit and guardian of Wolvendom. Long ago, his powers were granted by an ancient god, elevating him to the level of a godlike being. During the Archon War, he became known as one of the Kings of Ice and Frost. He waged war against Decarabian, the Lord of the Tower, whose storm wall protected his capital. Their conflict reached a stalemate: Andrius could not break Decarabian’s defenses, and Decarabian made no effort to defeat Andrius. Though their battles devastated the land, it was Decarabian’s people, discontent with their ruler, who eventually overthrew him with the help of Barbatos around 2,600 years ago.

Andrius himself chose a different fate. He came to believe he was unworthy of being an Archon, as he lacked the love for humanity that the role demanded. Recognizing that his blizzards could only bring death rather than sustenance, he relinquished his claim and allowed his power to flow into the land, nurturing Mondstadt even after his physical death. Though his body perished, his spirit endured in a new icy form, weaker than his true self but still formidable. About 1,000 years ago, after Vennessa’s rebellion against the aristocracy, Andrius was honored as one of Mondstadt’s Four Winds, spiritual guardians who protect the land, and a Knight of Boreas was named within the Knights of Favonius.

As centuries passed, Andrius became the leader of the wolf pack in Wolvendom. His bond with the wolves grew so strong that he accepted abandoned children into the pack, raising them as lupical. Among these was Razor, whom he took in and guided as family despite his human origins. Though humans feared the wolves of Wolvendom as phantoms haunting the forest, Andrius remained their noble protector, upholding the law that wolves and humans rarely meet directly.

In more recent times, he played a role in events following the Stormterror crisis. When rifthounds attacked Springvale and the villagers blamed Razor and the wolf pack, Andrius appeared to judge Razor and the Traveler. After testing their conviction, he declared Razor innocent and reminded him that, despite being lupical, he remained human and should not involve himself in the coming conflict between packs. Later, during the Traveler’s confrontation with the Abyss Order in Wolvendom, an Abyss Herald attempted to corrupt Andrius as it had done with Dvalin. Though briefly restrained, he was freed after the herald’s defeat. He then explained his past encounter with the Field Tiller, one of the first Ruin Guards, which he mistook for a challenger when it wandered into his domain.

Appearance: Andrius, in his wolf form, takes the appearance of a massive, quadrupedal wolf with features marked by icy and ethereal qualities. His body is predominantly white with intricate, glowing blue markings that trace across his fur, resembling frozen patterns. His mane is large, spiked, and composed of deep blue fur streaked with lighter accents, giving it a jagged, frost-like structure. His eyes glow with a bright cyan light, radiating elemental energy. Sharp claws and fangs emphasize his predatory nature, while ice-blue spikes protrude from his body, including his limbs and tail. His tail is long and ends in multiple crystalline, icicle-like extensions. Translucent blue energy, resembling icy flames or mist, flows from his back, mane, and tail, trailing as he moves.

Personality: Andrius carries himself with the dignity of a noble guardian. He is protective of his lupical, watching over the wolves of Wolvendom and those he accepts into the pack with a sense of duty and care. He values conviction and strength of heart, testing those who approach him to ensure their resolve is true. Though stern and sometimes distant, he is not cruel—his judgments are guided by fairness and the belief that humans and wolves each have their place. He shows wisdom gained from centuries of existence, tempered by humility, as he once refused godhood for lacking the compassion he believed necessary.

Abilities: Andrius, the Wolf of the North, fights with a wide range of Cryo and Anemo-based attacks. In battle, he can leap high into the air before crashing down on an icy circle he creates below, dealing heavy Cryo damage and generating energy orbs. He often dashes across the arena in a powerful charge that leaves behind an icy trail, or slashes forward with his front legs to strike enemies in his path. At times, he spins in place surrounded by icy energy, striking all around him, or sweeps his tail to release small icicles that remain on the field before exploding into further Cryo bursts. He frequently repositions himself during the fight, always turning to face his opponents.

When the battle progresses into its interlude, the arena’s edges become coated in icy ground that steadily deals Cryo damage to those who stand on it. During this stage, Andrius runs swiftly around the battlefield and makes repeated charges before leaping to the center to either continue the fight or escalate into his second phase.

In his second phase, Andrius begins by pushing enemies away from him, summoning frozen pillars and coating the battlefield edges in more Cryo ice that slows movement and deals damage over time. These pillars can be shattered by elemental reactions, especially Pyro, or detonated by Andrius’ own roars and wind attacks, causing them to explode in Cryo blasts. He unleashes storms of falling icicles from above, roars with immense power to release an Anemo shockwave that grows more damaging the farther away enemies are, and slashes with his claws now imbued with wind energy.

Other abilities include sweeping his tail at close range for heavy strikes, summoning waves of ice along the ground that erupt in Cryo damage, or creating slicing wind blades that travel forward in a spread. As the fight drags on and his strength wanes, he begins summoning phantom wolves to harry enemies, their frequency increasing the longer he fights.

Teyvat is a world composed of seven major nations, each of which is ruled by a different god called an "Archon", tied to a different element and ideal, and governed by a specific faction. The mysterious floating island of Celestia hangs above Teyvat, allegedly home to gods, as well as mortals who have ascended to godhood through great, heroic feats. Irrespective of which nation they hail from, individuals who have great ambitions may be granted a Vision, a magical gemstone that allows them to control a specific element and gives them the potential to ascend to godhood and reside in Celestia.

Mondstadt: A city of freedom that lies in the northeast of Teyvat. From amongst mountains and wide-open plains, carefree breezes carry the scent of dandelions — a gift from the Anemo God, Barbatos — across Cider Lake to Mondstadt, which sits on an island in the middle of the lake.

The Knights of Favonius is the order of knights that protects Mondstadt, founded by Vennessa with the help of Barbatos 1,000 years ago, to prevent aristocrats from ruling the land, as Barbatos originally intended.

The knights act as the lawmen of Mondstadt, keeping its citizens safe and creating and upholding laws for all.

Varka, the Grand Master of the Knights, is currently out of Mondstadt on an expedition with his squad; during his absence, the Dandelion Knight and Lionfang Knight Jean was appointed as Acting Grand Master.

Members follow a strict code of conduct based on the core principles of the Knights, as detailed in the Knights of Favonius Handbook.

Although they are considered separate institutions, the Knights also help manage the Church of Favonius, which is led by Seneschal Seamus Pegg.

The primary antagonists the Abyss Order, a legion of monsters who seek to overthrow the rule of the Archons, and the Fatui, a military force and delegation of diplomats from Snezhnaya who pursue an aggressive foreign policy throughout Teyvat.

Hilichurls are a goblin-like family of monsters. As a hilichurl grows and survives, they eventually turn into Mitachurls, who are larger and bulkier. Mitachurls that continue to grow and survive eventually accumulate an excess of the elemental energy in their area, turning them into Lawachurls. It is not known how long it takes for this growth to occur. Many Hilichurls are also affiliated with the Abyss Order, as the Abyss Mages are able to speak fluent Hilichurlian.

Riftwolves, also known as Wolves of the Rift or Rifthounds, are an elite enemy group hailing from the Abyss. In combat, Riftwolves use elemental attacks and corrode the health of enemies. Rifthounds also utilize a fury system; the more they are attacked by the element they're associated with, they will enter an Elemental Devourer state, causing them to attack more aggressively at the cost of decreased resistance to that element.

The Adventurers' Guild is an organization that serves as an adventurer-for-hire service for the people and other organizations in the seven nations of Teyvat. The Guild collates all the complex word-of-mouth information it receives and redistributes it in the form of quests and adventures assigned to adventurers. "Ad astra abyssosque!" is the guild's motto. Katheryne is the receptionist for the Adventurers' Guild. Multiple, identical Katherynes exist, all serving as the Guild's receptionists.
