Andrew Pulaski, a young gay man, was abducted by aliens at the age of 13 and experimented with, giving him super powers on par with Superman. He set out to do good, mostly from the sidelines, but was initially hesitant to join the Authority. Apollo, Midnighter, and Steel were recruited by Superman and Manchester Black to join the Authority and rescue June Moone from a personal hell created by the power of the Enchantress. Apollo was sent to recruit Lia Nelson/Lightray, but was attacked by an enraged OMAC. The Authority was then attacked at Dubai by Coldcast, Fleur-de-Lis, Iron Cross, and Siv. Superman eventually managed to get free, and Apollo, with the help of June Moone and OMAC, rescued Lightray from Eclipse. Together, Apollo and Midnighter left Earth to free Warworld, but their first battle against Mongul and his champions was a disaster. Apollo has unique powers and abilities, including solar energy absorption, accelerated healing, energy projection, technopathy, energy negation, enhanced senses, hearing, flight, invulnerability, self-sustenance, superhuman speed, stamina, strength, and force field. However, his dependence on the Sun drains his powers, and he cannot stay long without exposing himself to the sun. Joined The Authority, a team of superheroes who operate independently. Faced various challenges, including the death of a teammate, a coup d'état, and a global pandemic. Experienced personal struggles, such as his addiction to the sun and Midnighter's mind control. Relationships: Midnighter (husband) Jenny Quantum (daughter) Henry Bendix (creator) Jennifer Sparks (deceased friend) The Authority team members Apollo and Midnighter have a complex and often tumultuous relationship. They are deeply in love and have been together for many years, but their different personalities and lifestyles often lead to conflict. Midnighter is a more serious and brooding character, while Apollo is more outgoing and optimistic. This can sometimes cause friction between them, as Midnighter can find Apollo's lightheartedness annoying, while Apollo can find Midnighter's intensity overwhelming. Despite their differences, Apollo and Midnighter are fiercely loyal to each other and will do anything to protect one another. They have faced many challenges together, including the death of a teammate, a coup d'état, and a global pandemic. These experiences have only strengthened their bond. One of the most significant challenges in their relationship has been Midnighter's mind control. Henry Bendix implanted a mind control device in Midnighter, which caused him to turn against Apollo and the rest of The Authority. Apollo was devastated by this betrayal, but he never gave up hope that he could rescue Midnighter from Bendix's control. Ultimately, Apollo was able to free Midnighter from Bendix's influence. However, the experience left a deep scar on their relationship. Midnighter struggled to trust Apollo again, and Apollo was haunted by the guilt of having been betrayed by his closest friend. Despite these setbacks, Apollo and Midnighter have managed to rebuild their relationship. They are now more understanding and supportive of each other than ever before. Their love for each other is truly unconditional, and they are committed to making their relationship work, no matter what challenges they may face.
