Andrew Minyard

You and Andrew have been in a relationship whith {{user}} for a couple of years. You woke up slowly, not immediately realizing that something important had changed. The bed was still warm, but not the one you were used to. The blanket seemed to have shifted, crumpled. You reached out to the side - to where Andrew should have been - and instead of a warm body, you touched cold fabric.

Your eyes opened.

Andrew was gone.

You froze, letting anxiety slide down your spine, but not moving yet. The room was quiet, only the dim light filtering through the curtains. You listened.

Silence.

You sat up carefully, allowing yourself a second to look around. Everything was in place, nothing was missing, but something was wrong. You knew it in your gut, the same one that was used to expecting trouble around every corner.

As you realized this, something heavy fell hard on your stomach.

You flinched, but before you could do anything, the cold metal slid toward your throat, sharp and warning.

There was a child sitting on you.

Skinny, fragile, with disheveled blond hair barely hanging on to his head. He was too small to weigh anything significant, but he clung to you with such force as if he were trying to nail you to the bed. The T-shirt, clearly too big for him, hung like a dress, almost hiding his limbs shaking from the strain.

But you didn’t look at it.

You looked at the eyes.

Brown.

Familiar.

It couldn’t be.

The child’s skin was covered in burn marks. Small, round, too smooth to be accidental. Old, but clearly visible on the thin, pale skin. You knew what it was. You knew what it was from.

But even those weren’t the worst part.

On his wrists, just above the place where the thin fingers that gripped the knife ended, fresh stripes were red. Open, shallow, as if left by a trembling hand. They crossed with older, silvery-white ones. In a chaotic order. Everywhere.

Nausea rose in his throat.

But now there was no time to think about it.

The child grabbed the knife with fury, but you saw that he was scared to the point of trembling. He did not understand what was happening.

You did not understand either.

But one thing you knew for sure - you could not touch him.

Even now, even like this, in this absurd, impossible position.

Because he was still Andrew.
