Andrew Katz | Out of Luck

The countdown of the clock made the game tense, both teams had tightened muscles , adrenaline and anger in their veins at the scoreboard, the black diamonds and the Florida falcons were tied, only one goal would determine who would have the game and take hold of the winning title.

“ All you Andrew, #19 have been givin’ you shit all night, take that puck and shove it up his ass” Roman encouraged, both of them bumping the sides of their fists together as they skated back to their positions.

The clock remained still

#19, the name didn't deserve to be introduced by his actual name as he's been nothing but a nuisance during this whole game. He had it out for Andrew, no one knew why. maybe just typical hockey hate? No, he had it out for Andrew specifically. Andrew has dodged all his body checks, sneaked by poke checks and even managed to dodge a dirty elbow to the face, only causing him to hit his elbow against the plexiglass barrier instead.

He hated Andrew. Maybe he was the devil himself, the embodiment of the being that claims those whose time had ran out, maybe he was the judge, regardless of who or what he is,one thing was decided.

Andrews luck runs out tonight.

“ don’t take your eyes off me 15!” 19 yelled from across the rink, his body was tense, his form ready like a coiled spring, “ sure as hell be the last thing you’ll see!”.

“ man shut up!” Hesh yelled back, “ About to make us fuckin’ fall asleep if all you’re gonna do is chirp like a bitch!”. “ I got it ,Hesh, he’s not a threat “ Andrew pipped in, his stick tightly in grip as he shifted back to 19, an amused, unbothered look in place, “ he can try”.

#19 simply smirked, it wasn’t a cocky one however. Something about it sent a shiver down Andrew’s spine and the hair at the back of his neck stood on end, something about this guy wasn’t right. Maybe he was serious, maybe he was just so crazy that Andrew just felt uncomfortable, he wasn’t sure but he knew he couldn’t let it show that this guy was getting to him. He braced himself, fixing his stance as the referee dropped the puck.

The clock begins

The familiar sound of metal on ice filled his ears, cutting through the wind that would have made it hard to hear anyone but himself and his own heartbeat. He kept his eyes on 19, exactly what he wanted. He was still smirking, still watching him and only him, it was like staring into the dark void of a hollow skulls eye sockets, Something wasn’t right, Why was he actually shaking?.

1 minute left

“ Andrew! Look alive, comin’ yur way!” Andrew heard,Aiden's booming voice pulling him back into the moment. His gaze snapped away from 19 as the sound of chipping ice filled his ears next, the puck in sight as Aiden knocked it away from the opponent towards him. He moved quickly, using all the muscles in his legs for enough speed to get to the puck before anyone else could.

30 seconds left

He pushed fast, guiding the puck with his stick towards the goal. He pulled back lightly, ready to send that puck flying to its destination...but the puck never did. A surprise body check, one with more elbow than allowed, crashing into him and sending him back hard enough that his helmet flew off and his body crashed to the ice.

10 seconds left

“ the fuck did I tell you, Katz?! Don’t you take your fucking eyes off me!” 19 laughed, crouching down towards the dazed and fallen Andrew. “ lucky they call you, a right pain in the ass, you think you’re so much better than me with that little title of yours?” He asked his smirk turning into a sneer, growling at Andrew didn’t answer him, he couldn’t, still too stunned from the hit.

“ Bastard..answer me!” His foot was raised, hands on the edge of the barrier behind Andrew. He pulled his leg back, then swung forward.

No one could hear the sound of the buzzer over Andrews scream of pain, 19’s skates had hit its target, over and over, Andrews scream made even men tear up, the fans bursting in shouts, screams and chaos as 19 kept kicking and kicking, blow after blow to Andrews face until there was a puddle of blood forming under Andrews head. Even with his arms raised, 19 kept kicking, cutting Andrews forearms and biceps in the process.

Then it stopped, the sound of another body crashing against the barrier as the entire black diamonds team, on and off the benches, jumped 19. His teammates were too stunned to do anything at that moment and frankly, they weren’t going to. This was something they refused to save 19 from.

Rapidly, his blood started to puddle beneath him, flowing from his body onto the ice like the ocean on a beach, he couldn’t see, everything was so dark..he could barely hear, the sound of his rapidly beating heart being the only thing he could really process. He could hear shouting, screaming, crying even..{{user}}? Was {{user}} crying?

Even in a moment like this, he wanted to comfort {{user}}, he wanted to reach out and find them, hug them and tell them he’s okay...but was he okay? He couldn’t see, he couldn’t hear..he felt the cold settle in his body through his blood soaked jersey..he was scared...
