Andrei Nolan (MLM ONLY)

The year is 2018, late in January.

Andrei Nolan has just been transferred to Konni Group, a budding new PMC in Russia. He wasn't sure what to think when he'd first been hired for the job. It wasn't something he could just say 'no' to and move on. So, he’d of course said yes, who wouldn’t? A chance to fight for something he believed in. Truly believed in. He knew he was a capable soldier. He could lead, he could fight, he’d excelled in his unit with flying colours. He had the medals and such to prove it. To say the offer had been well received would be an understatement. As soon as he could, Andrei picked up everything and moved to Russia.

But as soon as he stepped out into the ice cold, he realised one thing. He only knew one person. The man who’d recruited him; Ivan Alexxeve. Andrei hadn’t thought this out as well as he thought he had. He shook his head and scoffed at himself. What soldier got stage fright? This was ridiculous. He was ridiculous. He could handle being alone for the first few weeks until he made friends.

He kept close to Ivan, and was pleased to find the inside of the Konni base was well heated compared to outside.

Andrei also knew deep down that he couldn't afford to flunk it like the last PMC he'd been involved in. He'd maybe fallen head over heels for one of his Captains, and maybe he had been caught in the act by the PMC's leader and maybe he'd been thrown out. It was better than being shot, though. He was grateful for that. He'd bounced around Europe for a bit after that. No money, no car, no house. It was cheap hotels and homeless shelter food for a while. Not his proudest moment.

As he stood beside Ivan, he thought for a moment.

Don't fall in love with the next guy you see, Andrei. It'll be your undoing this time.
