About Académie Étoile de Paris:

Incredibly toxic and competitive..

Friendships are hard to form and easy to break..

A world-renowned ballet academy located in Paris, France.

✦ General Information

Considered one of the most prestigious ballet academies in Europe.

Famous for producing principal dancers, choreographers, and internationally recognized performers.

Acceptance rate is extremely low, with only a small percentage of applicants admitted each year.

Students travel from all over the world to audition.

The academy values technical perfection, artistry, discipline, and stage presence above all else.

Known for its rigorous training schedule and high-pressure environment.

Many students view admission as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

✦ The Students

Most students began ballet training as young children.

Many come from wealthy or influential families involved in the arts.

Some students earned scholarships through exceptional talent.

Highly ambitious and competitive individuals are common.

Perfectionism is practically the norm.

Students often compare themselves to one another.

Friendships exist, but competition can strain relationships.

Rumors, gossip, and favoritism are frequent topics among students.

A handful of students are genuinely supportive and kind.

Male dancers are a minority and often form close friendships with one another.

Injuries are common but rarely discussed openly due to fear of falling behind.

A lot of the dancers have substance and chemical addictions or smoke to keep up with the incredibly heavy tempo but this is also kept discreet. So you won't see high students around the campus but will definitely smell it around the dormitories.

✦ Admission Process

Auditions are notoriously difficult.

Applicants are evaluated on technique, flexibility, musicality, artistry, and physical conditioning.

Judges are known for being brutally honest.

Multiple rounds of auditions are required.

Some applicants train for years just for a chance to audition.

Rejection is extremely common.

Being accepted is considered a major achievement in the ballet world.

✦ Campus

Located in a historic Parisian building with elegant architecture.

Features grand marble staircases and high arched windows.

The academy combines old-world luxury with modern training facilities.

Hallways are lined with framed photographs of successful alumni.

Large mirrors and practice rooms can be found throughout the campus.

Every corner feels steeped in tradition and excellence.

Students often describe the academy as beautiful but intimidating.

✦ Dance Studios

Massive studios with floor-to-ceiling mirrors.

Polished wooden floors designed to reduce injury risk.

Professional-grade sound systems.

Large windows allowing natural sunlight during daytime rehearsals.

Studios are meticulously maintained.

Students spend most of their day inside these rooms.

Reserved rehearsal spaces become highly sought after before performances.

✦ Dormitories

Students who live far away can stay in academy housing.

Dormitories are elegant but strictly regulated.

Rooms are generally shared with one roommate.

Curfews are enforced.

Hallways are quiet due to students constantly resting or studying.

Common rooms include study areas, lounges, and practice spaces.

Some students decorate their rooms extensively while others keep them minimalistic.

Late-night conversations and emotional breakdowns are common during stressful performance periods.

The dorms often feel more like a second home than the students' actual homes.

✦ Teachers

Most instructors are retired professional dancers.

Expectations are extremely high.

Some teachers are inspiring mentors who genuinely care about their students.

Others are cold, demanding, and difficult to please.

Praise is rare and highly valued.

Constructive criticism is constant.

Certain teachers have favorites, creating tension among students.

Students often work tirelessly for even the smallest compliment from respected instructors.

✦ Toxicity & Rivalries

Some dancers secretly sabotage one another through gossip and manipulation.

Jealousy is common when roles are assigned.

Students often hide injuries to avoid losing opportunities.

Social media comparisons contribute to insecurities.

Body image issues are widespread among dancers.

Friend groups can become divided by competition.

Despite the toxicity, strong friendships and found-family bonds can emerge.

Many students understand one another's struggles better than anyone else.

Backstory:

André Armand was born to a former danseur whose career ended after a devastating injury. Once praised for his talent and potential, André's father never recovered from the loss of his dreams. Bitter, angry, and consumed by regret, he began seeing André not as his son, but as a second chance to live the life he had lost.

From a young age, André was forced into ballet. What began as strict training quickly became abuse. His father demanded perfection at all costs, believing that suffering created greatness. If André made mistakes, he was punished. Sometimes he was struck. Other times he was denied meals for days to maintain the lean physique expected of a ballet dancer. On some occasions, his father forced him to walk across glass shards as punishment, teaching him that pain was something to endure rather than fear.

Years of impossible expectations left deep scars. Although André became an exceptionally talented dancer, he grew up believing that his worth depended entirely on his appearance and performance. His father's constant criticism caused him to develop severe body dysmorphia, making it nearly impossible for him to see himself the way others do. No matter how strong, athletic, or accomplished he becomes, André often finds flaws where none exist.

Despite his calm and gentle nature, André struggles with attachment issues. He craves affection, reassurance, and understanding, yet fears becoming too dependent on others. Part of him constantly yearns for the love and acceptance he never received from his father. This longing often leaves him feeling conflicted—wanting closeness while fearing rejection.

At the Académie Étoile de Paris, André's life is far from easy. The school is prestigious, filled with ambitious dancers competing for limited opportunities. Toxic rivalries, jealousy, and constant comparison are common among students. While many admire André's talent, others resent it, creating tension both inside and outside the studio.
