The Seven Archons, typically shortened to The Seven, are the seven gods who preside over the seven regions of Teyvat, established after seven gods emerged as the victors of the Archon War. Natlan is one of the seven regions of Teyvat. It is the nation that worships Xbalanque, the Pyro Archon and God of War. In ancient times, Natlan was the domain of dragons who built a hyper-advanced civilization. Following a great war and the corruption of the Dragon Lord Siaucoatl, the human hero Xbalanque rose to power, defeated Siaucoatl, and was recognized by Celestia as the Pyro Archon. He established a system where the strongest warrior can ascend to godhood through trial. Natlan is currently a loose confederation of tribes united under the Great Alliance of Five Tribes, overseen by Xbalanque.

He was raised among humans and developed a deep self-loathing and hatred for his draconic heritage. He was saved from a dragon prison by Xbalanque, whom he became fiercely loyal to, serving him devotedly. After Xbalanque's ascension to Archon, Och-kan serves on his council. He is emotionally unstable, wears a mask to hide his draconic features, and is prone to violent outbursts against dragons, though he keeps these tendencies in check under Xbalanque's rule.

Vashaklahun Uba Kan, also known as the Sage of the Stolen Flame, is a wise and ancient dragon. He witnessed the fall of dragon civilization and the corruption of the Dragon Lord Siaucoatl by Forbidden Knowledge. He stole the seed of Primordial Fire (Phlogiston) from Siaucoatl's palace and gifted it to humanity, hoping to help them evolve and become strong enough to face the Abyss in the future. His grand plan involved uniting dragon and human potential. He created his son Och-kan as a dragon with a human soul to be a potential new leader. While his initial plan was for Och-kan to defeat Siaucoatl, he ultimately supports Xbalanque's rule and serves as an advisor, holding one half of the Golden Petition. He has a contingency plan involving the Petitions to purge the Abyss from Natlan at a great cost.

However, his mind and body were eventually corrupted by Forbidden Knowledge that seeped into Teyvat. He was ultimately defeated in battle by the human hero Xbalanque, who emerged from the dragon's heart as the new Pyro Archon.

Och-kan discovered and contained her beneath the City of Embers. She sees Och-kan, who bears the mark of Siaucoatl, as a destined ruler but is hostile due to his hatred for dragons. They are a last-resort contingency plan to purge the Abyss from Natlan should it become an unstoppable threat. Activating them by uniting the two halves on the sacred volcano, Tollan, would supposedly cleanse the land but at a catastrophic cost: the death of countless dragons and humans, with their blood merging to birth a new, stronger civilization. It was created by Yohualtecuhtin, Lord of the Night to save the arteries of the land of Natlan during the great calamity. It provided a refuge and allowed humanity to survive. It is described as "a liminal space between the body and mind, life and death," and is located deep underground. Due to the lack of stable, deep-rooted Ley Lines within Natlan, the Night Kingdom essentially functions as Natlan's Ley Lines.

The kingdom allows communication with the deceased, which led to the birth of the first Wayob. It has a deep connection to the people of Natlan, and its rules are part of the foundation laid by Xbalanque's covenant with Ronova. 42. #42Gnosis

    Keys: Gnosis

    Enabled · Selective · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

A Gnosis (plural: Gnoses) is a powerful artifact held by each of The Seven Archons, serving as proof of their divine status and allowing them to directly resonate with Celestia. These enigmatic items typically manifest as gleaming chess pieces and are considered embodiments of the Heavenly Principles' control over Teyvat. Their origin traces back to the remains of the Third Descender, created as part of a "new order" after Nibelung's war left the Heavenly Principles injured, leading some, like Skirk, to refer to them as "curses."

Gnoses were initially bestowed upon the victors of the Archon War. While Archons possess innate elemental abilities, a Gnosis significantly enhances their power, enabling feats like Zhongli's creation of Mora, granting the "divine ability" to defend a nation, and allowing the summoning of immense elemental power. Unlike Visions, which are deemed "primitive" in comparison, Gnoses can house their users' ambitions, and their loss can strip an Archon of their drive.

  43. #43Gods of Teyvat

    Keys: Gods of Teyvat

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 60%

    Entry settings

Gods are powerful beings within Teyvat's Human Realm, possessing immense control over elemental energy and lifespans far exceeding mortals. While most are beholden to Celestia, some harbor wariness or resentment towards the heavenly citadel. Before the Archon War, numerous gods roamed Teyvat. Following a "great war of vengeance" that weakened the Heavenly Principles, seven divine seats opened in Celestia, triggering a protracted conflict.

The Archon War, which concluded 2000 years ago, saw most gods slain or sealed, with the seven victors becoming the Archons—rulers of Teyvat's nations, each embodying a divine ideal and shaping their land. The origins of gods are varied; some, like Egeria, gained godhood from the Heavenly Principles, while others like Barbatos were elevated by fellow deities. Gods cannot be truly destroyed; their physical forms may perish, but their emotions and power persist, often causing significant environmental or societal effects, such as the Tatarigami or the creation of Consecrated Beasts. The Seven Archons have developed ways to counteract these lingering influences.

An Archon's power is tied to their control over their nation and the faith of their people. They are also obligated to grant Visions—shards of elemental Authority—to mortals whose powerful wishes reach the heavens. Vision wielders, known as "allogenes," are said to have the potential to ascend to godhood. Beyond the Archons, other significant divine entities include the Heavenly Principles, the Moon Sisters, and various ancient gods, some of whom were sealed or fell during the Archon War.

Beyond these nations, other significant regions exist. Khaenri'ah is a technologically advanced underground civilization. Celestia is a mysterious floating island in the sky, believed to be the abode of gods. The Dark Sea encompasses the regions beyond Teyvat's known continent. Historical regions like Sal Vindagnyr, Guili Assembly, and Remuria also played crucial roles before their eventual decline or destruction.

The world of Teyvat is governed by seven fundamental Elements: Anemo, Geo, Electro, Dendro, Hydro, Pyro, and Cryo. These elements are not merely natural forces but are deeply intertwined with the world's foundational lore and power structures. Each element corresponds to a specific Archon and their nation, though the exact nature of this relationship remains a mystery.

Historically, the seven elemental Authorities were potent powers wielded by the Seven Sovereigns, the most formidable dragons of the ancient world. Upon the arrival of the Heavenly Principles, portions of these powers were stolen and subsequently tied to the Divine Thrones, establishing the authority of the Archons. The primordial energy of Teyvat, known as Phlogiston, was also utilized by the Heavenly Principles to create Elemental Energy as a means to counter the encroaching Abyss.

Two key manifestations of elemental power are Visions and Gnoses. Visions are external apparatuses mysteriously granted to certain individuals in Teyvat, allowing them to wield elemental abilities. These Vision wielders, known as "allogenes," are secretly recognized by the gods as having the potential to ascend to Celestia and become gods themselves. Upon a wielder's death, a Vision loses its power, becoming "Masterless," though it can resonate with a new individual.

Gnoses, on the other hand, are far more potent, resonating directly with Celestia. Seven Gnoses were created by the Heavenly Principles and an unidentified entity from the remains of the Third Descender. They serve as a substitute for the gravely wounded Heavenly Principles' authority after a great war. Each Gnosis is held by a respective elemental Archon, but the mysterious organization known as the Fatui is actively gathering them for an undisclosed, overarching purpose.
