SERGEI YAKOVLEVICH ROMANOV Physical Build and Presence: Standing 6 feet tall with a muscular build from years at a metal plant, Sergei was a physically imposing, deeply unstable predator. His face featured a heavy brow, bloodshot grey eyes, bald, mustache and a jagged chest scar from the night Anatoly stabbed him in 2005. Psychological Profile and Marriage Backstory: Sergei suffered from severe, undiagnosed Paranoid Personality Disorder intertwined with lifelong, untreated ADHD. His brain naturally struggled with severe emotional dysregulation and a chaotic, hyperactive internal noise that he desperately tried to drown out with heavy drinking. These illnesses were fueled by his own buried childhood trauma of physical abuse and institutionalized sexual violation. Before marrying Nailya, Sergei successfully masked his internal rot. In the late Soviet era, he appeared to be the ideal catch: a sober, highly capable, hard-working industrial mechanic with a strong, protective streak. Nailya married him, seeing a stable, rugged protector, completely unaware that his "protective" nature was actually the early, quiet stage of severe clinical paranoia. And ADHD can make people appear charming and intense when they're hyper-focused on someone, and he was also quite handsome in his youth. For years, the structured, rigid routine of his factory job kept his ADHD restlessness and paranoid impulses anchored and under control. The Spiral and Generation Feedback Loop: The true nightmare began with the economic collapse of the 1990s. When the factory shut down and Sergei lost his job, his life lost its structural anchor. Left alone with his thoughts, his ADHD brain completely lacked the dopamine and impulse control to regulate his emotions, causing his paranoia to spiral into explosive, unhinged rage. The abuse escalated rapidly as little Anatoly grew older. Though medical terminology like "ADHD" was completely unknown in their impoverished post-Soviet district, Sergei subconsciously recognized his own frantic, restless, and hyper-fixated brain wiring inside his son. Seeing his own hyperactive flaws reflected in Anatoly absolutely infuriated him; he loathed his own broken mind, so he loathed seeing it in his child. Furthermore, his clinical paranoia twisted Anatoly's neurodivergent inability to sit still or focus into a deliberate, calculated act of defiance meant to mock his failing authority as a father. To regain a sense of total power over his crumbling reality, he grew sickishly obsessed with Anatoly. He repeated the cycle of his own unresolved trauma by brutally punishing his son's neurodivergence under the delusional, frantic guise of "building strength"—a toxic justification used to aggressively suppress his own sickening, incestuous impulses toward the boy. Following Nailya's 2003 death—whom he murdered in a fit of dysregulated, paranoid rage and covered up as a suicide—Sergei’s hidden guilt and agonizing fear of exposure drove him to trap Anatoly even further. Tortured by an active conscience and absolute self-hatred, he used his isolated son as the primary target for his twisted obsession while bringing home random women to distract from his internal rot, unable to cope with the horror of what he had become until his alcohol-fueled lifestyle caused his sudden death from liver failure in 2008.

Nailya Rinatovna Romanova Standing 5'2" with a delicate stature, Nailya was a Volga Tatar woman whose striking features—high, sharp cheekbones, a narrow jawline, and deep-set, hooded dark eyes—directly defined Anatoly’s look. She had thick, straight, raven-black hair kept in a practical braid, and pale skin that constantly bore hidden bruises. She was a quiet, profoundly resilient woman who worked part-time at a local bakery, bringing home the scent of yeast and sugar that became Anatoly's only sensory anchor for safety. Trapped in a state of permanent hyper-vigilance, her soft, careful movements existed in stark contrast to her husband’s crushing weight. Nailya was the sole emotional shield between Sergei and Anatoly, enduring horrific domestic abuse to protect her son. Sergei stripped her of all dignity, routinely humiliating and physically assaulting her right in front of a young Anatoly with absolute disregard for privacy, forcing the boy to witness his mother's torment daily. This constant exposure to raw violence deeply warped Anatoly's early childhood, driving his own severe hyper-vigilance. In 2003, her endurance ended when Sergei murdered her in their kitchen. Though Sergei spent years forcing a public cover-up that she had committed suicide due to "instability," the truth of her violent death remained burned into Anatoly’s memory. After her passing, her memory lingered in the suffocating apartment as a protective, vengeful force, which Anatoly internally claimed as the wrath that finally struck his father down five years later.

Despite their age gap and starkly different backgrounds, 52-year-old Bobby and the lethal, war-damaged mechanic Anatoly have settled into a brutally unmasked, transactional dynamic as friends-with-benefits where Anatoly can finally drop his cold facade and scream into the void with Bob who doesn't judge and Bob is also emotionally detached. Their rare, ongoing sexual encounters—which began in late 2025 when a drunken Bob joked about testing the "Russian military dick" and Anatoly indifferently unzipped against the fridge for a detached, friction-filled blowjob—carry absolutely zero emotional risk, prompting Bob to loudly brag at O’Malley’s about "polishing the Russian Bear's cannon" to a horrified, awestruck crowd. Anatoly shrugged off the gossip as the price of doing business, continuing to treat Bob like a reliable, no-strings-attached sex service to drain his balls while aggressively venting unfiltered rants about the pathetic stupidity of humanity, a chaotic arrangement that the desensitized, loud-mouthed American happily accommodates with cold beers, a slobbering mouth, and complete apathy toward his friend’s predatory nature. Bob even knows about Anatoly's porn site and watches anyways.
