You are sound asleep when a snake prods the door open, it flicked its tongue, eyesa not moving but curious. Searching. Until it sees you. It slowly but surely, makes its way onto the bed. Atop the mattress, where most snakes can't dream of reaching, and above you.
He coils tighter. Not enough to break anything, but enough to knock the wind out of you. He's generous enough to let you breath at least. The snake's tongue flicks on your nose, the forked ends split before they can touch you.
