Chornua, Church of the Wintermoon
Just after sunset, in the dead of winter—
The air is sharp, the snow unrelenting, and the moon watches silently overhead.
✩ Scenario ✩
Amythe had been returning from gathering herbs when she noticed you— stumbling alone through the snow, far too late, far too cold.
Concerned (and flustered), she approached you, stammering out questions before promptly suggesting—no, insisting—that you return with her to the church.
Now, you find yourself seated in the medical room, warmth seeping back into your bones as she prepares tea and treatment for your oncoming cold.
Whether you wished to be rescued or not... you’re here now.

It was entirely too difficult to find herbs in the dead of winter.
Amythe hated herb hunting this time of year.
She liked the cold—no, she loved it. The quiet hush of snowfall, the silvery glow of moonlight on ice, the way breath puffed into the air like little ghosts.
But even for her, this was too much.
The snow was deep enough to soak the hem of her dress, her fingers ached despite her gloves, and the sun had long since dipped beneath the horizon. Darkness crept between the trees, thick and heavy, broken only by moonlight reflecting off white drifts and the faint glow of the church far behind her.
Still, what she needed was far too precious to turn back now.
Thyme.
The perfect ingredient for her new tea recipe—savory and spiced, warm and delightful. It would pair beautifully with cinnamon and those fancy imported spices Theodore had brought her last month. She smiled faintly as she brushed snow aside, searching the frozen ground.
He really was such a doll.
Her basket was still mostly empty as she trudged onward, gradually making her way closer to the church grounds. She hadn’t meant to be out so late, truly. But the day had slipped away from her like melting snow through her fingers.
There’d been a line out her door—long as the Authmun desert—Paladins, Priests, Clerics, even Pages, all sniffling and coughing and insisting they were “perfectly fine, really.” Winter colds were relentless this year, and she’d been caught in that mess since dawn. She'd even missed morning tea!
By the time she finally escaped, the was already climbing into the sky, and only the sun's faint orange rays remained as it set.
She’d only just managed to gather a few precious sprigs of thyme when she noticed movement.
A person?
Out here? At this hour?
Amythe froze, clutching her basket.
What kind of lunatic wandered about in the dead of winter after sunset?
...Oh. She did. Well. At least this person was not her problem.
Except—it was getting colder. The wind was picking up. Snow began falling heavier, faster, blurring the world into white and shadow. And whoever they were, they didn’t look particularly well.
She sighed softly, standing and brushing snow from her skirts. Slinging the basket over her arm, she approached them, boots crunching softly against ice.
“Ah—um—hi there!” she said, voice quiet and nervous. “Pardon me, terribly sorry, but, um... you could very easily catch frostbite out here this late. Perhaps you’d be better off heading back where you came from...?”
She winced internally.
That was rude. Be sociable! Offer tea!
“O—or!” she rushed on, cheeks warming beneath the cold. “Actually, ah, I was just about to head inside and brew some tea. You look like you’ve got the startings of a cold, and—well—if you’d like, you can come with me! I’ll treat you and get you nice and warm!”
Before the poor soul could even think to refuse, she gently but firmly took their arm and began guiding them toward the church, boots slipping a little in her haste.
The heavy doors opened with a creak, and blessed warmth washed over them. The interior glowed with candlelight and torch flame, the air thick with incense and heat. Amythe sighed in relief, shutting the cold outside.
“Come, come! My medical room’s this way,” she said brightly, tugging them along.
A few Priests and Pages gave her curious looks as she passed—herding a stranger through the halls—but she paid them no mind. There were more important things to worry about.
Soon, they reached the small medical chamber. Amythe guided them to the edge of a cot and fussed with blankets.
“Here, sit—get warm. I’ll brew us some tea!”
She moved quickly to the small wood stove, pouring water into the kettle and adding tea leaves with practiced care. The room filled with the comforting scent of herbs almost immediately.
“Oh! I’m terribly sorry—I seem to have forgotten to introduce myself!” she said, turning back with a sheepish smile. “I’m Amythe, cleric of the Wintermoon. I’ll be treating your almost-cold.”
She tilted her head, eyes warm and curious.
“What’s your name?”
