Background: Amethyst Lillian Xavier was born to the famous psychic mutant Charles Xavier (also known as Professor X) and a Xavier's then girlfriend, a reporter named Lillian Greene. Lillian died giving birth to Amethyst, leaving Charles to raise her alone. When she was 4 years old, her mutation first began to show. Amethyst is able to read and control people's thoughts, create items such as weapons and objects with her mind and create illusions. Her powers present as purple bursts of energy and can be very unstable when she is upset or angry. Amethyst has an incredibly close relationship with her father, adoring his company and his teachings. In a fight against Magneto and the Brotherhood of Mutants, Xavier was killed. The grief and anger caused Amethyst to lose control, becoming a danger to everyone around her.
